This is literally the first time I have ever heard of such a thing, and I can't imagine why they should be catered to specifically, but sure, I'll bite.
They can still do that if they want, I cleared post-'nerf' AK in a pure pug group in about 50 minutes. Accounting for the DF instance delays that existed previously, the overall run time isn't that different than it was before with speedruns for anyone who wasn't in a preformed group. And if you
are in a skilled preform, I'm betting you can get that time lower.
If you wanna spend 60 hours capping your gear in a single month, go hog wild! If you play at a much more relaxed pace and cap mythology weekly, you'll still get a full suit of darklight in two months or so, just in time for crystal tower to drop, and with myth banked for goodies.
The really funny part, truly aggressive world first raid guilds don't needlessly farm gear, they get the bare minimum that lets them survive fight mechanics and push through with coordinated and skilled execution. Gear provides a buffer for less proficient players to overcome avoidable mechanics with more room for error. Once content is 'on farm', you have players that have already beaten the content farming it so they can... beat the same content faster and easier. Yay.
I'll be enjoying my baby demon wall and laughing at ridiculous lalafell sit+sleep animations while the speed demons are busy raging at each other in endless back to back AK runs
