there are only 2 int classes and 2 str dps classes right now, rdm and sam are going to be dps no other way about it
Not really, Shire gear is shared too.Is the stats thing even relevant? They can just solve it by moving to class exclusive gear entirely.
It kind of already is. Only accessories are shared?

Have they confirmed that both the inventory and armory are getting upgrades? And they should give us 3 retainers by default already.
Or do a big upgrade on the glamour system so that stuff doesn't take up inventory space. That's like 90% of my retainer right there.
They have been nickle-and-diming the playerbase since day 1. I mean how many other MMOs have both a monthly sub and a cash shop? I can think of WoW and that's it. What surprises me is that you can't buy an unlimited number of extra retainers. Someone out there would spend an extra $50 a month for 50 retainers.

Seriously lol'ing @ anyone thinking there won't be a tank AND a healer in the expansion. Ya'll are nuts. Tank mains and healer mains want new jobs to level same as any DPS main, and they aren't going to throw a vague concept of "balance" any more out of whack than any other particular job regardless of role.
Oh and for funsies, ask WoW players what happened to Dungeon Finder queues in Legion when Blizzard didn't release a new healer spec/class alongside their new tank/dps class (hint: they are still regretting it).
Also for funsies, see how fast you get a group in a leveling dungeon as a healer right now, and how long the DPS queue is, without taking into account all the RDM that will be queuing in Stormblood.
Again, ya'll are nuts.
Is that deleted SE Europe tweet where they mention there being only 2 classes the biggest reason for this assumption or was there something else?On the other hand, this means you believe there will be three new classes when we aren't sure that'll be the case. If there are three classes, it's highly likely that they'll add all three roles, you're right.

The game plays really well on PS4. If you don't feel like playing with a controller (which works well) you can still use a mouse and keyboard. Two questions:
How does this play on PS4? Is it super clunky or does it work well? I've noticed it can vary pretty drastically between MMOs on consoles.
Is it fun to play a healer in this? I've been looking for a new multiplayer game(preferably MMO) and I prefer to play a support role unless it is mind-numbingly boring.
I anticipate about a 0% chance that SAM will be as fun in FFXIV as it was in FFXI.
Don't know if I ever played as SAM in XI. Don't really remember it's role. Was it a 3rd tank (secret 4th tank behind Ninja Blink tank?)

Thanks.I just followed this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/4mwt6s/33_anima_stat_allocation_mega_thread/
I maxed out Crit and Det, and had 5 left over crystal sands that I put into Skill Speed. Someone in the thread does mention that if you're raiding to allocate those left overs to Acc, but I'm not raiding, so I just dumped 'em into SS.
Either in 3.55 on the 28th or in 3.56 next month. We might get more info during this weekend's PLL. Unless you're capped on Tomestones of Lore, I would wait.Thanks.
Do we know for a fact that umbrite 240 step anima quest is getting nerfed next patch? I'd hate to start and then have it nerfed midway.
Nah, I'm not capped. I don't even know what to do with lore anymore since scripture is the important one now.Either in 3.55 on the 28th or in 3.56 next month. We might get more info during this weekend's PLL. Unless you're capped on Tomestones of Lore, I would wait.
I think we are only going to get two new jobs at first in Stormblood. The devs have previously said that creating three new jobs at a time was a really intensive task that they didn't want to repeat. At the same time, they said that creating a whole new job is a process that takes a year due to having to design everything from the abilities to the equipment. On the other hand, this means you believe there will be three new classes when we aren't sure that'll be the case. From what I recall, the XI Samurai was a class that the devs intended to have tanking abilities, but the players just used its DPS abilities instead. It had a dedicated tanking stance built around refreshing a move that decreased or negated physical damage, I think. It just couldn't compare to the Paladin or Ninja as a tank, though. So, it was used for its ability to chain weaponskills to rack up damage instead.Don't know if I ever played as SAM in XI. Don't really remember it's role. Was it a 3rd tank (secret 4th tank behind Ninja Blink tank?)
Seeing "WAR/SAM" typed out, just makes me miss the XI days of subjobs.
I mean, you can still dump some Lore into Umbrite but if you start going at it hardcore you most likely will regret it as it's going to be nerfed by the time you're done or very soon after. I still have my WHM weapon to get through that step but I really don't want to go through the unnerfed Umbrite step for the 4th time, for a weapon that I have no use for.Nah, I'm not capped. I don't even know what to do with lore anymore since scripture is the important one now.
I, for one, am looking forward to being the needed role in duty finder now
Cuz Samurai ain't going to be a healer
I have all of my crafters up to 60 (again)
Crafting every recipe, Ixal quests, leves are the big ways to do it (leves are easiest if you can just afford to buy the leve items or the mats and have someone else HQ them for you) and then moogle quests from 50-60 are easy, you're getting about a level every other day for very little workChrist. How long did it take you? I have yet to level any crafting or gathering class. How should I go about it?
Unlock the books and wait till the next patch before committing to red scrips for gear or buying mats for gear. Khloes sister is supposed to be added soon and has something to do with crafting, might be an easy way to get catch-up gear before expansion.Crafters!
I have all of my crafters up to 60 (again). Now, I'm working on getting all of the books as well. Now, with Stormblood just four months away...what else should I exactly be working on? Is it worth grabbing mats to have someone help me make Ironworks? Should I try to make Ironworks myself? Not a bad idea but I'm pretty poor atm. =/
Should I continue with scrips for the various tools and just kind of look forward to the new xpac and trying to keep up then?
Any advice as to my next step at this point in the game?
