Final Fantasy XV - Main characters and Japanese voice cast revealed

Those places that are separated by water can be explored by swimming all the way there.

That would be amazing.

I hope they don't do swimming; I've never liked how games will have people climb out of water and then start walking around like they're not utterly drenched and standing out like a sore thumb. (See: Ezio in all the AC games.)

I'd rather see some kind of gondola or boat-based system. However the regular people in this city get around.

A sunspot!
I don't know why you keep using a literal definition of flawless, when i'm clearly not (besides, we clearly have a different definition of "flaw", here).

They still do not compare to the level of skin complexion they used on most of the other characters (minus the hooded one), including Noctis, and you don't need make up, to not have eyes this red:

Maybe Noctis has been crying a lot...
--
Just to be clear, i don't have real a problem with it, but i do think it looks weird.

Look at yourself in harsh lighting, my face is like Noctis in harsh light, that's what they are going for, Noctis doesn't look like this in the other picture because of lighting.

And yes men can take care of themselves like women, but even then young women often still have softer less harsh skin.

Anyway I'm sure Noctis is under a lot of stress, maybe that's part of it. :)

I think he is much better here

But maybe they changed him due to him being the Bad influence

Maybe they wanted him to be more crazy-like
I don't think he has change that much, it's more to do with his change of expression IMO.

People need to chill with the issue of lacking female characters. Chances are, these are main characters for only first few chapters of the game. No way would they introduce all the characters now. Thats how ff's always works.

Seriously, Square enix is the last company to complain about after releasing three games with female lead in this generation of dudebrah games.

IGN has this on their site.

Set in modern times but with a touch of medieval influences, the story focuses on Noctis Lucis Caelum, the prince of a dynasty which rules a city state that has the last remaining crystal. After the crystal is stolen by an invading nation, a global conflict ensues with all other nations wishing to gain it for themselves. Alongside the main protagonist, Noctis is joined by a military tactician Ignis Scienta, who can deftly handle a katana in battle, a melee fighter named Gladiolus Amicitia, gun-wielding Prompto Argentum, and head of the Royal Family Guards Cor Rionis.

Against this backdrop of a world at war, Noctis Lucis Caelum and his closest friends embark on an epic journey to try and get the crystal back.

Badass military tactician who wears glasses and can deftly handle a katana? That reminds me of Citan Uzuki from Xenogears. I hope he's not the traitor...

There must be at less 2 more party members and they have to be girls.

Unless they want to pull FFX-2 with all the party members being one gender.... but this is a MAIN FF game :\

Anyway... I'm cool with whatever they decide.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Oh look, a J-pop band!

I really hate Nomura's designs :/

I don't see how Cor is actually hateable.

He's probably the most normal looking FF character I've ever seen.

I kinda like the designs, except for their flood water pants and red soles. :X

PS: I want my old Stella back :'(

man, they look like a j-pop boyband.

J-Pop boybands are usually comprised of twinks. There are at least two normal-looking, almost burly men (Gladiolus & Cor) in this group.

I don't see how Cor is actually hateable.

He's probably the most normal looking FF character I've ever seen.

I don't see it either. If anything, I don't trust the guy with glasses. I never like guys with glasses though.

Based on what we've seen I love the new cast of characters compared to the past FF games. Starting with with FF X through XII I've really just hated the main cast. I would love to see in a future game the cast get more expansive and weird like the old games, but that probably won't happen with how much time they spend putting all these characters into the story.

On a side note thinking about Japan not receiving the Xbox One till late 2014 makes me think this is still a long time off, unless for the first time we get a worldwide release and MS just does not care at all. Yeah 13 basically sold nothing on the 360 but I can't see them being fine with XV being exclusive for a small window (even if Japan only).

There must be really strong market research that shows having younger protagonists makes games sell better. Don't really understand why they made noctis and stella younger. Reminds me of shoehorning the completely vapid and uninteresting Vaan and Penelo into an otherwise incredible game.

I like Ignis the most, probably a traitor, but his design is really cool. Noctis is ok. The other 3 not so much. Two of them are way too normal and boring and the blonde guy is just ugly.

Stella is the only one that looks younger.

Noctis looks older than he did initially I think.(And less like a vampire)

Of course it does, isn't that obvious? People generally like playing younger/more attractive characters.

It doesn't remove the fact that all of the rest of the cast (with the exception of Prompto) are considerably older than what we've come to expect with FF.

They all (even Stella) look early 20's to me.

Ignis, Gladiolus and Cor look older than early twenties - otherwise you're making me feel really old :( lol

And I was including the other characters not in the OP as well, pink haired guy, obviously Noctis's father and the other older guy are much older than early twenties - even the girl with the black hair looks a bit more mature than early twenties.

The idea that the only main members are Noctis and is friends is a weird thought honestly, though I suppose it could be hard to have so many fully controllable party members. Guest party members do feel likely though given Nomura's liking for them.

On second thought, I should shut up.

I think there will be playable female characters. I just think they were using the demo they showed to showcase the existing party you know of, and what will likely be the party early on in the game.

All this talk about an all-male cast, but I doubt that will affect sales at all. Hopefully, no one will take this the wrong way, but I think this is the first AAA Blockbuster game with a cast that is undeniably Asian. Prior Final Fantasy characters' nationality, with a few exceptions like Tidus, were obscured by the anime-influenced artstyle.

I despise Noctis' and Stella's designs. Compared to the rest of the cast, they look like a couple of real dolls in company of human beings. Yuck.

This is what I've been saying since Monday. It's really silly to believe they would unveil the entire playable party on day one. Square loves its marketing drip-feeds and Nomura loves his eleventh-hour dark horse characters.

Well, no use in spoiling all the party members now in an announcement trailer.

Nevermind.
I saw it, so thanks anyway :)

Ah, missed it. Good news though I take it?

On a side note, I think I found an image in the announcement trailer that might be the hooded guy's face. At 2:40 when the old guy and his troops are facing off with Regis, there's a blonde guy to the right of the old guy that is dressed differently from the other troops in the white.
