2 important questions before I start playing:

1) Japanese or English voices? what works best for the small chatter outside of the major cutscenes??

2) What is the consensus around the best PRO-configuration: Lite?

Very much looking forward to playing this in a few hours. The wait has been hard and the Neogaf threads the last year have been quite painful (the platinum demo...). So much that I decided to stop posting. Now that the reviews are on the average quite promising it is probably ok to come back, and enjoy this last part of the journey.

Don't feel bad, this is mine, lol, still hasn't shipped. Unless they ship it from within my city, I don't see how I get it tomorrow.

Yeah I have the exact same expected time. Earliest I'll be playing this game is Wednesday this week. :l

I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but 20 hour campaign seems really short for an FF game, even beasting straight through. Guess we'll see. Crazy pumped!!!

It's why I recommend to everyone to not rush through the story. It defeats the purpose of the game. Do some side quest and exploration. Once you feel burned out then go back to the story. I recommend going back and forth until Chapter 8. Chapters 9-to the end, just focus on the story. Take in the road trip cause it's what the game uses to hit you with emotional stuff later on in the game, so if you rush it then it won't satisfy. Also save a lot of Prompto's photos.

Bless you.

Good to see majority of the FFXV hype train people returning. I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about the game :D

Where is Koozek?

Don't know, just messaged him actually. How could he miss this!

Maybe he's standing outside the Tokyo Metropolitan Gov't Building waving a candle.

I'm super psyched to dig into the game, but this Amazon delivery BS has me a little down.

Game in my hands at work. Staring at clock. Great reviews. Time to pick up Ommegang Three Philosophers and go to town tonight.

Final Fantasy stories are typically 25-35 hours. This "20 hour" playtime is going to vary a lot depending on how much extra stuff you do in-between. They're not quite as lengthy as people are apparently remembering. Also length has shit-all to do with quality, some of the greatest RPG's out there like Chrono Trigger are a bit shorter than typical Final Fantasy games. FFX was "shorter" too.

I'm Googlin' FF game play times and I'm seeing lots of 25-30 hours for VI, specifically.

I was surprisingly sanguine w/ all the early copies out in the wild a few days ago. "At least I'll enjoy the full force of the day one patch!" I thought to myself.

Now I'm feeling the pain as I look at my Amazon status.

Pre-loaded, patched up, and ready. Listening to Final Fantasy music today to celebrate.

My expectations are also in check. I expect to like it slightly less than FFXIII even. If it surpasses that, then awesome.

Damn if that is playtime.
You should see mine as well.

55 hours so far

Koozek is staying far, far away for now. On blackout.
Good to hear. Hopefully he returns once he plays the game.

Seems like the brazilian portuguese subtitles are translated directly from japanese.

It's rough around the edges and there are some shitty mistakes here and there, but I'll take it!

Yo, how are you finding the post-game content now that you've had more time to dig in?
It is really good and can be challenging too, which means I have to level up. Thankfully the quests/hunts post-game give a good chunk of EXP points and niflheim soldiers also increase in level, to an average of around 47. So EXP gain is not an issue.

I haven't even seen most of the secret dungeons or fought
