It is really good and can be challenging too, which means I have to level up. Thankfully the quests/hunts post-game give a good chunk of EXP points and niflheim soldiers also increase in level, to an average of around 47. So EXP gain is not an issue.

I haven't even seen most of the secret dungeons or fought
Adamantoise
.

I'm super curious about the one PressSneak was hyping...

Lol, right I could be dead wrong.

Just for reference I checked my last Amazon order which was for Mafia 3 Deluxe Edition. Here is the time stamp of when it was shipped. Release date was Friday, October 7th.

From what I read, he was talking about a
Secret dungeon that was only reachable through Regalia and he said it was one of the most satisfying and cool Dungeon that he finished. Maybe there is more, I don't know TBH.

To the promised Land!

Man, oh man, I absolutely ADORE the XIII series so I can't wait for XV. I hope it will be just as good. I doubt it will be as amazing as XIII-2 because that game is a damn 10.1/10 masterpiece, like, it feels like they made that game specifically to my tastes. I expect this game to be at least 9.5 for me (aka, almost perfect).

Since you're done does the amount of AP you get ever increase? I'm in Chapter 6 and I am like level 50 but my progress on the accession grid is shit.

Douchebag. Yes, me.
there is some frame pacing (not as bad as the demo) in the HQ mode, but LQ ran smooth.
those are the 2 only modes on pro, since HDR works on ps4/s/Pro

Still a bit confused... so the game currently right now when I install it has two modes on Pro consoles (low quality and high quality?). What are the differences in those modes?

And then there is an additional second patch coming, that allows for 30FPS at 4K, or 60FPS at 1080?

When mine didn't ship on Friday the 25th like it said it would the delivery date changed from Tuesday to Thursday. I contacted Amazon Support and they told me it was because shipments had been delayed.

That said they still "upgraded" me from Prime 2 day release day delivery to 1 day so it would be here Tuesday. Lol My copy shipped last night at 11:44pm.

I have the game preloaded on Xbox One, just now an items and an updates showed up, the item os called Angler Set just a few hundred MB, and the update is instead 9.13GB, are you guys downloading those too? Does that mean the game is ready to launch after install that?

For those that have it, any skills from the Ascension grid that are must have ones or simply highly recommended?

Hope this gets to PC, I'd double dip. Do you think an i5, GTX 960 could handle this game?

Depends on if we get the "hq special Tabata PC edition" or just a port. If it's just a port then sure. GPU wise, CPU will be fine for a long time still.

I believe so since I preloaded the game a couple of days ago. And now this morning before I went to work I got an update for all the pieces of FFXV content including a 9.13 GB patch which I assume is the crown update or 1.02 update. On Xbox One you cannot see the version your game is at unless you can boot it and see it on the title screen which sucks for pre-order stuff.

Sorry, I didn't see it asked on the first or this last page.

I pre-ordered and preloaded the game for the Xbox One. When can I boot the game up, here in Southern California?

You can only access it after you beat the game and get the flying car. It's one of the best things I've ever done in a video game. I'll likely publish an article about it in the next day or two, or you can read about it here if you've finished already: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/5ezdx9/spoilers_secret_dungeon_found_and_completed/

Sounds sweet.

Modern FFs keep iterating, refining, and improving the gameplay I think (sure, with some lateral moves). Just need that next step forward (or backwards?) to more coherent and adroitly presented narrative...

Did you do your "everything wrong with verendus post" post yet?
It doesn't feel necessary to go through EVERYTHING, but I'll cut/paste what I wrote in the other thread:

There were a lot [of red flags], but here's the most obvious one:

It left me pondering about which part of this game I liked the most. All of the Final Fantasy titles I've enjoyed have always had stronger first thirds or first halves, then it's somewhat downhill from there. That doesn't mean they turn bad, just that they don't quite sustain the peaks I felt they reached earlier. Final Fantasy XV is different thanks to its game structure. I'm not fond of the opening two chapters. It's a pretty bland beginning thanks to the starting area, and while I still enjoyed the game, those are definitely the weakest sections. Instead, I prefer the game from chapter five onwards. It's not the half way point of the game, but at that stage, I was invested in the title and its characters. The first three to five chapters did a great job of drawing me in, and immersing me in the world, but it was after that I really appreciated the journey. Spoiler: Thanks to the way the design suddenly changed on me, it helped me appreciate the open world aspect a little more too. I didn't have to follow that same routine all the way through.

So while the first third, and a little bit more, serve to build up your characters and lay the foundation, the second two thirds are where you slowly become involved in the greater plot, and escalation naturally occurs. This means the narrative progression also feels stronger. The last five to ten hours in particular are pretty excellent because it's just simply not what I was expecting heading into this game.

Anyone who's played the game can immediately see that this is all wrong. What Verendus likely did was assume, based on the preview builds, that the open world ends after 5 chapters and turns into a linear game for the rest. This is not true. Structural spoilers:
Nothing new happens after Chapter 5 that would make anyone who's actually played the game write something like "Instead, I prefer the game from chapter five onwards." Chapter 6-8 are just a continuation of the same plot threads, and then the game pivots in Chapter 9.
And the stuff about the "last five to ten hours" makes no sense.

I'm hoping it will be okay, I bought this Alienware PC for gaming and so far has yet to let me down.

Ah Verendus. Hoist by his own petard. And take out those factual inaccuracies and the rest reads quite believably based on a lot of the real reactions folks are having.

I know this isn't the ideal thread to ask this but...

I'm squeezed for space on my PS4 right now, probably have about 10 GB left. Meaning I'll likely have to delete a game to make room for FFXV. Usually, I have no problem with this. However, there are games I don't want to loose data for right now (namely Titanfall 2, DXMD and Dishonored 2). Will deleting the install delete my save files as well? Anyone know?

Also, anyone know the physical install size from disc on PS4? I'm going physical.

Pretty sure game data (applications) and save files are independent.

I'm sure saved data stays on the PS4, but game data disappears. Also, you can just upload it to the cloud, and redownload when needed again eitherway.

I need to watch Kingslaive to the end I only watched 60% because it was so awful. Rip

Oh yeah, I'm supposed to get a costume for Noctis from getting the movie on PSN. Should it be a code emailed or will it be automatic if the game detects the movie?

I would recommend getting the skill for AP while driving and in Chapter 3 getting the skill for AP while riding a chocobo. You have to do both of those things anyway and you can amass a decent amount of AP while doing them. Ignis regroup skill is extremely valuable I would get that ASAP because it heals your party 100%.

This particular thing you mentioned has me hyped. Would you say this dungeon is accessible to someone like myself who basically plans to ignore side quests? Is there some abstruse series of things the player is required to do or a very high level required to access?

I just hope there's nothing grindy about accessing this dungeon.

Also, kudos on the well written review. It basically took this game from a pass to being on my radar now.

I'ma order a jumbo pizza so I have food for the whole night, bought some coke. Gonna destroy my gains but whatever. 3h for me.

You don't need to be any particular level for this dungeon (although you do need to be around the 40s to do the quest for the flying Regalia, but that'll come naturally once you beat the game).

Spoilers on the nature of the dungeon:
There are no battles in it.

Finally got my shipping confirmation!!! I mean it only took until 3 hours after the companies own work day ends but I guess it might actually come tomorrow now! Still kinda wish I'd gone digital so I could dive in 4 hours from now but I've still gotta watch Kingsglaive first and maybe finish the last couple episodes of Brotherhood too.

2 large pizzas with extra pepperoni and bacon and double cheese, cinnamon stixs and some vanilla coke. I'm gaining this week and idc

You'll see, I don't even know how people can justify the second half of the game, the potholes, incoherence, characters that are totally disappearing without any resolution etc... it's a mess.

I'm not saying more and I'm ready for the meltdown that will happen soon enough.

Lol I haven't gotten there yet, maybe my opinion will change

Game saves are safe. I've done this before.

The first install which is when you pop in the disc was about 41GB. Then it installs some more when you boot up the game. Idk how much that adds up if any.

Nice OT. Real pretty visuals.

But I feel that this thread, after 10 years, isn't quite hype enough.

Let's do this.

To all the haters, Slim Tabby style.
