Now I'm playing the worst fucking fishing game ever because I encountered a cat on the bridge and I couldn't bring myself to decline the side quest and say say no, fuck you cat, feed yourself.

How the fuck do I catch an edible fish they're all some stupid glowing thing and they're impossible to hook for the intial encounter.

So far enjoying this a lot more than I expected. They really tightened combat up. No longer feels like an unresponsive mess in the first demo.

e: camera is still a mess in enclosed spaces though.

While I, too, remember the game being announced and watching that first trailer a long time ago, I may be in the minority when I say I was never really too interested in the project until it became XV and more of what it looks like today. 80 minutes of OPEN COMBAT

I gave up after 20m. Silly me started downloading after I got home from work so I still have like 40gb to go once it went live... Assumed it would auto-download last night for digital pre-orders as usual, but it didn't for some reason.

52 hrs in doing postgame stuff

Car parts, weapon parts, dungeons, hunts, infiltration.. i haven't touched the chocobo racing. I finished the game around 35 hrs I believe. You just play at your own pace and choose what you wanna do.

Wear what you like, the stat changes really don't matter that much.

I hope everyone enjoys the game I've put ~35 hours into it so far but I'm still on chapter 3 just exploring and doing hunts and dungeons and taking my sweet sweet time on that storyline

Go to camera options and turn Auto correction on, with the bar under it set to 3. Helps a lot.

Still waiting on my PS4 pro to come in next week, this game runs surprisingly well on ps4 with only some frame pacing so far. Only a little over an hour in, but I love it so far. Just need to get used to the combat.

Not to get too sappy, but I've really enjoyed the wait and the numerous discussion threads and everything leading to this point.

However the game turns out to everyone, it's been a crazy ride. Can't wait to get my copy in the mail tomorrow and join in on the adventure.

Il with Japanese voices. You might want to go with english if you don't understand japanese though, there's a lot of banter in this game.

Good lord I remember watching the first Versus XIII trailer all those years ago and then scouring N4G and Google for any information almost every other week. And now the game is officialy out. I'll probably play a little bit but I won't really sink my teeth in till I get a Pro.

Unfortunately the performance on ps4 pro does suck, the framepacing is not right on both lite and high modes. It's playable but I'm wondering if I'm better off waiting for a patch because if I finish the game before it gets fixed then it's kind of moot

A shame really because that's my only complaint so far

you get to fight the soldiers from the empire who invaded your home country. In a cutscene afterwards they talk about the peace treaty. The guy with the red hair you meet at the resort mentions the peace treaty, too.

If you listen to the radio on the way to the resort, it makes mention of the fact that part of the peace treaty was the marriage between Luna and Noctis.

It's revealed in banter/dialogue/radio instead of cutscenes.

Yeah I've played a food chunk of the open world.

I mean, lite mode is certainly playable but it's definitely still present. I'm really sensitive to this thing, way more than if it was just framerate drops so it sucks. But I imagine most people probably won't notice.

There are two GameStops near my house. One is just a little bit farther away than the other, and both were listed on the website as participating in the midnight launch. I chose the closer of the two.

I chose...poorly.

Luckily I was able to make it over to the other one before they closed (they told me I had one minute left) and pick up the game. It's installing on the PS4 right now.

The real question is, do I fire it up, or wait for the patch to download and install?
