Kingsglaive looks and sounds ridiculously good on blu ray. I'll be stoked if the actual game's audio mixing sounds one fifth as good as Kingsglaive.

Anyone got their Amazon pre-order? I've got a bonus code, not the game itself.

Yeah my bonus arrived in email tonight, redeemed it on my PS4. Was just the Gold Chocobo Regalia. Game shipped from Ontario at about 5pm local time for me, and it has to make it to Colorado before 8pm today. Not an impossible feat, but I'm guessing I'm actually not going to be playing later today...

EDIT: Second email with my Roadtrip bonuses from the dumb Amazon minigames just showed up. 3 more codes inside that email.

BocoDragon

or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Realize This Assgrab is Delicious
Also - is it UK only that got this insert in the game case -
The 'thanks for your support' leaflet with all the signatures of the cast? A truly touching sentiment
You just prompted me to check my North American Deluxe Edition.

It's in there. Dunno about the standard copy. But I like it :)

The Deluxe Edition is just a steelbook case eh, I thought it was gonna be like the Type-0 collector's edition the way it looked and the price of it. :(

Game sure showers you with AP though. Left the game with 100+ yesterday. Plan to get that skill that lets me recover after being hit. Was really useful in Duscae... buuut, I am also afraid it might completely break an already easy game

This was probably asked before but I cant seem to find it.

What's the postgame stuff.
What's NG+? Is there something exclusive to it?

Can anyone answear those questing without spoiling the plot (if that's even possible)?

Added price comes from the Kingsglaive movie and some additional DLC items :p the Special Edition steelbook is 5$ more expensive but doesn't come with anything.

It seems really bad that magic constantly hurts you and your allies in the videos I've seen. Is it as big of a deal as it seems?

It's a nice touch right? I was very happy with that. Made me think 'no problem guys, you take your time'

Might pick up a pro later down the line once there are no more reports of loud systems.

Mine is quiet as a mouse.

Putting it in 'high' mode you can hear the fan but it's not excessive. Like a quiet purr.

It's such a small amount (like 19hp per hit) that it's negligible.
Plus if you are standing in fire dude.... it's likely it'll hurt you haha

I'm at work today after a weekend and a bit of playing it. I'm having a great time with the game, it's one of my favourite FF titles already.

My only real problem with it is having Jump on the same button you interact with things, so you often jump when you want to read, talk or mount a chocobo.

Also, chapter ten-ish spoilers:

Poor Ignis, I felt a right arse for lugging him around that mine when he couldn't see...

How does the Memories thing work at rest stops anyway? I haven't chosen it yet, Does it let you revert back to a previous chapter or is it a cutscene viewer? If I go back, can I return easily to the 'present'?

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Just to confirm; you can't pick stuff up while close to enemy right? Caution status

Hey guys I have a question regarding the endgame (Spoilers don't click)

I'm in the middle of the chapter 13 and I can go back in the past to do some secondary quests... is it my last chance to complete that stuff or will I be able to go back in the present open world before the end of the game ?

Never finished a FF before. It was mostly before my time but thinking of grabbing this eventually because it looks amazing. Is the game difficult? I sometimes get bogged down by excess inventory/crafting etc.

Not in the slightest. Easiest Final Fantasy by far so far because you can powerlevel early on.

Also it has an 'easy' mode

Alright if it's that little, i mean it's not like you can control where your AI teammates go and it looks like they don't really care if they are standing in a fireaga storm XD

Isn't there a command you can do which rallies them to you? Pretty sure I heard something like that.

Easy is a cakewalk, normal is actually pretty challenging. Some bosses/Hunts can be challenging even when overlevel. Depend how you master the combat.

edit : just saw that XP crank on 1.02 ... don't tell me they destroy the balance on the game, did they lower other XP thing ?

If you're having difficulty chopping away at enemies it's really easy to craft a really powerful spell too, I use it a lot of insta-kill those dropship soldiers. You can make the spell heal you too.

Yes. You can do it later.

Any tips on combat? I seem to be taking a lot of hits. Is it a case of holding down L1 or pressing it at specific times, or am I keeping my distance and baiting out enemies one-by-one?

So there's only one trophy you can't get on easy difficulty?

Yeah

Beating Ifrit has to be on normal

My advice if you have it on easy is to create a save file at the start of each chapter (I do that anyway)

That way if the Ifrit battle sneaks up on you, you've only got to go back to that one save file and re-do the fight on normal.

Hold Square when you see an enemy winding up to hit you.
Square is dodge/parry. L1 only calls in your friends to do hits.

I tend to favour using javelins in combat - you naturally move around a lot when using this type of weapon which avoids a lot of attacks. That and I tend to warp over to a warp-point and get in as many long-range Warp Strikes as I can.

Most of the time you get hit because your in the middle of the pack of whatever you're fighting. Sometimes it's wise to warp out of it and get an overview of where the enemies are.

I generally start a combo and keep an eye out for any tells from either my target, or the other monsters and press the evade button. When you see the prompt to block just keep pressing the button until you see the parry prompt. And make use of the Team Attacks, they give you tons of invincibility frames, especially Gladio's attack.

5 hours in. i feel like i'm playing a single player ff14. i dont know if thats good or bad.

i like the characters, the story, and love the combat. so at least its got that going for it. but some of the side quests are straight up mmo fetch quests. and getting from quest to quest is really fucking boring. that said, i did just play 5 hours straight and didnt want to stop. so yeh.

Deciding if to get this for XB1 or PS4 - are there any points (performance ?) where one version is better than the otter?
