Each weapon type has a ridiculous amount of nuance with different attacks that you can trigger based on directional inputs and timing.

Charge attack:

Spin attack:

Also worth saying that you can use this with weapon switching.

Doing a Crush + First hit of Ravage, pause and then Tempest takes way too long. It's better to do the first two hits with a fast weapon, switch to the Greatsword and do just Tempest.

It's great against crowds.

Okay, I'll just get this out of the way cause I know it'll happen later on, 150 is not enough Tabata!

Prompto takes way too many amazing pictures. In chapter 1 and I've already saved like 20 pictures. Increase it with an update please.

Word.

Any benefit to buying the season pass now or should I just wait?

0 benefits. Wait for at least a trailer for the first one, I guess.

I am enjoying the game so far, I have not liked a Final Fantasy game since IX. I am enjoying the combat and the exploration, the quests are pretty bland so far kinda MMOish but I am only a couple hours in.

What are people finding to be the best Pro mode? High or lite?

I'm playing on Pro High mode, and honestly I don't notice any technical issues, really. I'm still at 30 fps, high image quality, and the frame pacing is minimal for me. Maybe my TV doesn't fit the bill for the most baller TV ever to notice these issues?

Anyone else with a PS4 Pro experiencing the fans going into overdrive during the tutorial section?

Does it get better in the main game?

My store had five copies of the deluxe edition stolen, including my copy and two coworkers.

Luckily I was able to order another copy but my god was I about to blow up. Now I have to wait until delivery on the 5th

I'm still early so I haven't experienced it myself but it's been said the plot does improve later on, if that helps.

When it comes to the opening hours they really screwed up the plot in my opinion. I'm sure it happened out of development concerns but Kingsglaive shouldn't have been a thing in the first place. Make those movies after your game's out instead of delegating important context to them. Yeah yeah, cross-media marketing... It's still shit. It's a really unfortunate cut.

But yeah, since you're having a blast if you're willing to I'd recommend watching that stuff. I've watched it all and it still doesn't work right but it does help a lot. I'm having a blast too so I'm not letting it bother me too much though.

Agreed, it just seems silly to have made it so vital to the game's story - but I think I will just watch it like you suggested, here's hoping you are right and that it does do a better job further on. Really enjoying the game so far, I went in blind with this one and I'm so glad I did, what a ride.

Silly question, are the day one dlcs (Masamune, Gae Bolg etc) shared for all the users on the PS4 like any other DLCs or are they account bound?
My sister really wants to use them and we are not sure on who should register those.

Digital version or retail? I don't know if it's different or not but I had access to DLCs on my EU account even though I had bought and downloaded the game and its DLCs from my US one.

I think you should be okay as long as the account that downloads the DLCs is set to primary on your PS4.

Oh... a stay is "only" ten thousand gil? I think I'll pass.

Hahaha, had the same reaction a few pages back.

I accidentally hit yes I'll stay without thinking. I had a little over 10,000 at the time but just went with it because I jumped 10 levels with the amount of exp I saved. Worth it!!!!! Not really though, later on I found places to sleep for 300 Gil that grant 1.5x exp.

got my first big bug.. after the crew starts driving back to home, the car went straight out of the road into a rock. when the game returned us to road, the drive kept driving against the fencin, the game returned us to read, he drove against the fence. it became a loop and i stopped playing

bad gameplay lol
Man...I bought Witcher 3 Complete from the PSN Black Friday sale, and was planning on putting it on the back-burner until I finished FFXV. But now I'm thinking of putting XV on the back-burner until there's a Hard Mode patch (IF there's such a patch) and playing Witcher instead. I dunno...am I letting the whole lack of difficulty/too easy to overlevel thing get to me too much?

At the end of Chapter 8 and a little over 28 hours in and this game is still all I can play since last Tuesday. My only gripe is how disjointed the story feels at times. The actual story itself seems quite easy to follow (up to this point) and I really like the premise as it feels very Final Fantasy... But after some story missions it almost feels like a cutscene is missing, because it just drops you at a spot and leaves you feeling like, "uhh how'd I get here". So I'm enjoying the story being told, just not sure about how it's being told at times. The banter from NPC's and radio chatter is just awesome though and it really gives you a sense of place; It's just those weird moments that leave you feeling like something is missing that hurts at times.

Man though, so many hours spent wondering the world and completing Hunts and quests. I finally took a break from story missions to get my Hunter rank up and those are still some of the best side activities in the game. Especially now that I have some summons on hand... When the music hits and you know it's time time to hit that button prompt... Fuck is it just good. Don't care how many times I've done it, it's awesome every time. Also helped me finally take down two Lv42 Flame Giants. The destruction and chaos it leaves for those few moments are cool as hell.

I also really enjoy being able to leave the car on auto pilot as the bros will often spot some side dungeons or quests that are more lore oriented than what you might find with the "?" on the map. I've spotted enemy camps, rare monsters, and a few other things while having Ignis drive which has lead me to not using the fast travel at all so far. Also driving around at night is just awesome with those damn Deamons wondering about, it just never gets old. Listening to Aerith's Theme on a late night drive while the sun is beginning to rise... It just hits you in such an awesome way.

Can't wait to dive back in some more.

Quick one guys ,

I have around an hour and a half to play before I have to go to bed.

Is it worth spending an hour of that on day 1 patch or should I just play now and update overnight?

Getting fairly regular crashes on ps4. Saving often to mitigate but it is a little annoying as the loading screens can be long.

Hopefully they'll patch this soon.

You are letting it affect you to much. There are challenging battles you can have fun with. Just play, power up and get to em. It's not like the witcher 3 is difficult whatsoever.

The story got potential but you can tell the team was rushed.

I'm stating to think the DLC are fully in the psn to be claimed.... The deluxe edition or the Road Trip still isn't working. So lets hope when the psn updates it'll work.
