Only a few hours in but I'm a little confused by the abruptness of the way the plot and characters are presented, as if I'm supposed to already know who everyone is here - is that because I haven't watched Kingsglaive ?

Eeeeeeeeeee that's the ink!! Almost want to grab my tablet and just use a digital version of the guide so I don't ruin this
Damn i'm in a dilemma.
Secondary missions and hunts absorb me but at the same time i level up too much at a point that i can break the game.
But on the other hand i don't want to advance in history because each chapter is so fucking short. (i'm in chapter 5)
What do I do GAF?
Wait, what happened there? Is that the Piggiback Collectors Edition Guide? Does the ink smudge by merely touching it?
I preordered it too. It hasn't arrived but I'll send it right back if the quality is this bad.
Easy to Platinum?
Not even going to say because mentioning it would be a spoiler etc. Not going to play with people like that.
It's a lot less coherent so far than Pokemon, but it's obviously not unbearably childish like Pokemon's was. I couldn't stand Sun / Moon's story at all, it was 'grit your teeth' stuff for me. Here, on the other hand, at least I enjoy the company of the characters, who are adults and behave as such.
Amazon copy arrived, 15 minutes to download the update. Let's do this!

It's an amazing guide, but it does seem like any finger drag with pressure causes the shit to smear. I'm starting to see where my fingers rest on certain texts while holding the guide open due to the fact it's new and of course doesn't stay seated yet in the early pages
Got my collectors edition strategy guide and it's gorgeous.
But the lithograph isn't the best quality sadly...
That's not normal though. That's incredibly cheap. And they advertized it being printed on high quality art paper.
Any others having this issue with the guide?
Hmm hard to tell. The Witcher 3 overall is bigger. XV's world feels massive mainly cause everything is more spaced out unlike with TW3. Yesterday I tested the map on foot and on car. On foot it took me exactly 1 hour to get across (no sprinting) on a main road. On car it took 10 minutes to reach from end to the other.
But yea it's obvious they had to scale things down whether cause of budget or time. It's another MGSV/Bioshock Infinite scenario.
All of that stuff is totally incomparable because every game measures its distances differently. If you go by the distances offered in the game itself, the world of Eos is incredibly small.
But in terms of actually playing, it should be sufficient to say that it is a very big world with a lot of stuff to do in it.
Sell most of them.
Didn't someone here say the story gets really great at the end and has a really good ending.

Again any tips for the level 14 hunt Squash the Squirmers?
I tried to smear mine (Collector's Edition Guide) and it doesn't happen but I'm still going to wear something or be very careful handling it.
I'm going to contact piggyback and see what they say. Maybe mine was defective I can even see fuzz in the text like it wasn't printed correctly possibly?

Plot's because you haven't watched Kingsglaive, characters because you haven't watched Brotherhood (which is really fun and free!)
it's a problem
Damn, the main reason I wanted the game is because of how big the map was supposed to be. I love large maps because it helps with the immersion. This is pretty disappointing, especially considering the side quests are supposedly pretty boring. I'll have to look at some reviews and see if I should reconsider.
Just bought the official Guide, so if any of you got some questions feel free to ask.
It's absurd that a 2 hour movie is practically a requirement to understand the plot. If that's true that is beyond annoying.

Great.....I got a defective guide
I've owned tons of guides and have never seen this before so I knew something was wrong
If you're struggling, play the Justice Monsters V pinball game, get 80 treasure chests and then quit to receive your Platinum Bangle. It'll give you a massive HP boost.
Aside from that, Libra scan enemies and exploit their weaknesses.
How many fish do I need to catch to feed the cat?
