2 hours in. God it's so good!!

Personally for me it's 1000 times better than 13 for me. It's what I wanted in a next gen Final Fantasy title that I was originally expecting from 13.

Are the hunts missable if I don't do them straight away? The battle system is taking some time for me to get use to and I suck at blocking attacks in this game.

I also can't seem to warp properly. I can warp attack enemies easily enough but can't warp to objects for some reason, just doesn't work for me.

Fuck this game! Haven't even left the first zone and don't have my car fixed yet either and I've spent 5-6 hours blasting my way around lol

I don't really understand the combat. I'm mostly holding circle and occasionally getting knocked over by an attack I couldn't see coming.

The warping did seem weird to me. In the tutorial, I could warp to points just fine for the actual tutorial for it. However, in the defeat enemy mode of the tutorial, everytime I tried to warp to a point, instead I would just randomly warp to some place on the ground instead.

Delivery delayed until tomorrow it looks like, I knew I should of just bought it digitally, but I wanted that Steelbook.

Lame. Glad to read all of the positive impressions though.

Kingsglaive was decent! Voice acting was kind of rough in some spots, but the music and visuals made up for that. Nyx is a cool character.

And that end fight sequence made my eyes melt!

And nice, I guess after that 9gb download it auto installed the data I guess, looks like I can play now!

You have to hold to warp to an object. If you got hard lock engaged to an enemy you cannot reach that object.

So I'm 2 1/2 hours in and haven't even really touched the story yet. Literally still on chapter one and pretty much just left hammerhead. This is gonna be a long ass game for me.

Amazon still says my copy is supposed to arrive here today but it never updated to say that it has left their facility so I have little hope it'll show up. I guess I can wait one more day

So I have a couple questions and wondered if I could get some spoiler free answers.

First off. I just hit chapter 3. Is this
the whole map? Just curious because I don't see Altissia

Secondly. I've unlocked Chocobo's for hire. How do I
change their color? Is it something I need to progress further for? Do you get to own a Chocobo or do you always need to rent them?

Lastly should I stick to the story for now or take a break to do some hunts? I've only done one or two along the way so far but this felt like a natural spot to go off on my own.

any idea why so many people had the game delayed shipping from Amazon? Mine still says preparing for shipping and arriving today but its obviously not. Chat and Calling didn't get me much help besides a promo credit for the trouble. Im wondering if I should just go buy this locally at Best Buy in case its cancelled..

Okay some quick questions:

1. How does the farming thing work? If I plant seeds, should I just keep waiting and more will grow? Or does only a set amount grow, so I should be picking them as soon as possible so that I can plant more? Lastly, which "car parts" can you get from the guy who trades carrots?

2. Breaking parts off of enemies for items: Is there a way to up the chances of getting an item? I keep breaking parts and getting absolutely nothing, over and over again. I'm wondering if the drop chance is set, so if you save and reload the fight if you dont get the drop, its not going to change and you still wont get it?

I don't think any are missable. To warp to a spot , make sure your cursor is targeting it andhold down triangle . to block and Dodge just hold down Square. Try to just do that on your next battle without attacking and watch how it works.

Haven't played much, but the Regalia being on-rails is garbage. The comparisons to Xenoblade are valid, and I'm starting to think Monolith Soft might be better than Square Enix at open world. At least the combat is fun in FFXV, which isn't really the case in Xeno IMO.

Heh, it's the opposite for me. I would've loved a Xenoblade-like battle system to manage techs and cooldowns with. As it is everything feels like chaos to me. I'm getting used to things messing with the settings, though.

So disappointing how the quests work in this game. Feels so archaic. They are somehow worse than Xenoblade side quests.

They're the same quests, same NPC's over and over again. Turn in a quest to Cindy, she already has another similar quest lined up...even if you can't even access the area yet.

It's just badly designed compared to most games doing this same type of thing these days.

It's also weird how they made upgrading weapons a quest. I now have 5 "A Better _____" quests on my list.

I'm glad I'm enjoying the actual gameplay though. It's just enough for me to deal with the games other faults.

I've been playing for 30 hours and never seen this farming spot. Where is it?

As for farming parts there's a food you can eat that ups drop rates from enemies by 50%. Away from my game so unfortunately I don't know what ingredients it used. But I eat it all the time because it also boosts exp by 30% and HP by 1000. It's one of Noctis favs

So I started on normal and left it on Active and on Lite resolution for the PRO...Just went to the first camp and rested before the first mini Boss fight I guess...I had 4 recipes to choose but I didnt take the strongest one...can I just camp again and consume all of them...? I hope they wont be all gone...

Really early but loving it so far...

I love this post because little me rocked a tauros that used ice beam, thunder, surf and some other nonsensical move. I didn't know any better and neither did the developers lmaothe whole map? Just curious because I don't see Altissia[/spoiler]

I'm in chapter 6 but,
I believe what you see is the whole map. There's a spot in that chcobo town where you can customize and even name yours. You still have to rent em but it's yours even if the rental runs out.

I stopped playing story quests for a long, long time during chapter 3. Chapter 3 is actually when I did every single side quest available. It made me grossly overpowered for the story, so if you're into that sort of thing go for it!!!

Fighting and dodging are easy enough for me, but it's kinda annoying that whenever I press X to block when prompted, I dodge roll instead. I was thinking its bc I'm moving, but that's not it either. Maybe I'm pressing it too early.

Whoah whoah, is there Monster Hunter style part farming?? Didn't know this. Might push me over the edge for a purchase.

for the farming thing, just grab them as soon as you can, wait a day for the soil to be ok, then plant the seeds again. you'll get 2-5 carrots per cycle. the car parts are noctis, ignis, prompto, and glad's 8 bit pixel decals.

for the breaking, i'm guessing you are at the mercy of rng. When you get the break, i see the item drop out of the corner of my eye. (unless its from the bros killing something off screen). just keep at it.. . guess i'm used to this stuff due to playing monster hunter lol.. . so im patient when it comes to drops.

The French dub is good. Like surprisingly good in fact when you let it have a chance
I'm playing it in French instead of the original Japanese VA in fact

The combat system is starting to click with me. It's more like how you dodge attacks and position yourself. Plus you can vary attacks depending on the weapons which adds another layer oh diversity.

I just discovered that by pressing L3 just when the stamina jauge is near zero reboots it (with the "teleporting" effect added). It's a shame it's not expliciTed.

What do I miss out on by not downloading the 10 gig patch it says I need to do whatever online thing this game has. I wanna play now so I'm not downloading that yet.

So just finished watching Kingsglaive and FFXV Brotherhood. Enjoyed them way more than I expected, especially Kingsglaive after all the poor reception and impressions. Game is installed, patch has downloaded and everything's ready.

Starting it up now!
