I don't know why but I actually really like the driving/chocobo mechanics. I thought it would be really tedious but I'm kinda enjoying just relaxing and watching the world around them while playing my favorite FF tunes. We just drove through our first sand storm too. Love it.

Still in Chapter 1 and only played a couple of hours, but so far I'm really loving it.

That's generally the case, there are very very few games that have a different sub track than the dub' sub. Made a thread about it and more or less was told it was too much work for devs. Yet Disney Miyazaki films do it on a basis.

I kinda guessed that this is the reason. I guess I just have started to notice it more nowadays as my Japanese skills have gotten better across the years. It's still pretty annoying though.

So seems I should buy food from every place I go so Ignis learns recipes?

I am more hype for the food adventure than anything else. :3

I heard Luna on the radio!

Personally, I don't much care about the sparseness of the story so far (granted I'm in chapter 1 lmao). But most (all?) post 7 games start story heavy while I like that 15 just throws you in the world right away and let's you do whatever you want.

so i watched brotherhood and am about to watch kingsglaive while this 1.02 patch downloads.

this is a mistake, this is actually making me regret buying it.

GAF, this fucking day one patch is going to take forever because PSN is a slow piece of shit.

Should I just start the game without it?

On the Ignis episode of Brotherhood and I think he's my bro. Nerdy, obsessed with cooking and is the Donatello of the group.

Really glad I'm watching these, they're already making me really love the characters.

Will be starting the game proper after these.

I hear you man also curious to see if people watching this will stick with the Japanese language in the game. Before watching the anime I was for sure going to stick with the dub but I kinda got attached to the voices.

Any who bout to start my playthrough.I just got lifted, got my sake with my wasabi seaweed snacks and I am ready to dive in.

It is said that this game is shorter than the previous Final Fantasy games. By playing it i realized why.

Previous FFs had longer duration because it had fucking random battles which you could not avoid. In XV you can cross the entire field without fighting if you want.
Put random encounters to XV and the game will last +40 hours, as well as you remove random battles to previous ones and they will last less than 20 hours.

I am right?

Oh, and i love XV.

So I think i'm getting a hang of the combat I just have one question. I was just in a fight and a couple of times Ignis and Gladiolus did "combo" moves with me. Seemed like it was after I got a chain or flanking attack on an enemy. I cant find anything in the ascension tree that would indicate what would trigger that. Any help?

Why? Kingsglaive is your typical insane FF movie, i think it will be enjoyable. Also necessary to watch for the game, sadly. Havent watched Brotherhood.

I'm having a blast so far. I love driving the car with fun Final Fantasy songs playing and seeing the sights.

Anyone know where they sell the FFX disc though? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Well Brotherhood is awful, and the 15 minute preview ign had of kingsglaive put me off from watching it when it came out.

Supposedly both are needed to get the "fullest" from the FFXV experience, but after brotherhood I'm less excited to play the game than before I watched it.

Couple of complaints:

I don't see my 16-bit Regalia skin.

The hair is atrocious, most apparent when you first meet Ardyn.

And getting on to sundown has horrible black crushing and black-face like lighting on the guys when "silhouetted".

...and I want my mp3 player dangit.

Loving the actual gameplay though.

When you get behind and enemy sometimes they do a combining move. If im not mistaken.

Whoever said this game is easy is craaazzzyy.

On Chapter 2 and getting my ass handed to me by
Magitech dudes that are lvl 16 and in packs of 20 dropping from the ships in the sky.

I've waited 10 years...to do boring monster and fetch quests. This opening is so slow. Please God, I hope I get to some good combat and levels soon.

The problem is that you hyped yourself for a game that was stuck in dev hell for 10 years...

I love how beautifully crafted and imagined this game is, but I'm struck immediately how listless it's been after the first few hours. I guess they overcompensated for how little freedom the last game had , but I feel like XIII had a brillaint drive compared to this, and it's crazy that I miss that but I guess it's growing pains.

Any tips for maximizing exp upon rest? Just started but wondering how early you can get those foods or stops that grant bonuses when you are there?
