Am I doing it wrong? I've set the options to Japanese Voice and English Text. But when I start the game it's all in Japanese and no subtitles at all. What am I doing wrong ?

What does frame pacing look like? I'm sure the framerate is still 30, but it seems choppy. Wonder if they can get it fixed for regular PS4's.

It's a fast choppiness. Like, dropping frames is usually either for a period of time or barely noticeable besides the game becoming a bit choppier. Frame pacing issues are generally signaled by just little jitters here and there, especially noticeable in wider open scenes when you rotate the camera.

Yeah, levels don't change your capabilities a great deal, it is much more about equipment and then the ascension grid

Horde of enemies (even lower level ones) can kill you quick if you're not careful.

Still in chapter 1 after six hours. This game is so fun. That said there are minor issues that potentially add up. I hate the slow crawl in dungeons and enemy areas feels so sluggish. It's either that or full on run, no jogging. Also hate that the music on the field takes forever to start and then if you check the map and exit, it stops again for a prolonged period.

And there's no Database/bestiary?

I guess my PS4 is dying, though I played the demo of Doom today for hours, and it was smooth and looked great.

Sure XV can be smooth, but I've noticed it being somewhat choppy/stuttering framerate. Even when driving the car the first time when rotating the camera.

Anyone else experiencing this on a regular PS4? I guess Pro is recommended for this game.

Kinda annoyed that I know too much Japanese to notice how many times the spoken language doesn't match the english subs at all (it seems they didn't make seperate english translation for Japanese VA and just use localized english subs)

That's generally the case, there are very very few games that have a different sub track than the dub' sub. Made a thread about it and more or less was told it was too much work for devs. Yet Disney Miyazaki films do it on a basis.

Nope, you have to select it yourself by using the Techniques menu. Fighting builds up 3 bars, Regroup requires 2 bars to activate.

Yeah, there's a "default" option on every part of the car you customize that reverts it back. Not sure about any trophies though.

Yeah, what's up with that? Definitely the most annoying part of dungeons so far. It's either a slow tip toe, or full run. Weird that you can't walk at all.

There's so much stuff to do though! Between hunts, exploring, figuring stuff out for first time, training with Gladdy at camp. I think that's about right if you aren't just doing story quests. Maybe 8-10 hours

Asked this like a page or two back but thread's fast. Is there a way to turn off waypoints and the quest objective without turning off all the HUD? Need to see HP and MP.

Side quests are poo, so far. Especially after just playing yakuza 5

Do yourself a favor and don't ever compare any other game's side quests to the ones form Yakuza series. They'll never measure up so that comparison will only make you disappointed.

Just tried it multiple times, skipping and not skipping the tutorial at the start of the game to be sure.

Do tutorial = frame pacing issues
Skip tutorial = no issues at all.

Seems like the tutorial screws something up.

TBH it doesn't bother me regardless, as I'm not sensitive to things like this. I actually have to look for it, but for those that find it annoying and are about to start the game and still want to do the tutorial.

1) Do the tutorial
2) Once finished, delete the saved data
3) Restart game and this time skip tutorial

Just did this, circled the camera around a few times while pushing the car, definitely still seems to be a jitter.

MAN. The HDR in this game is by far one of the best I've seen implemented yet. The colors, good lord.

Yeah, it's normally a toss up for me between my calibrated rec 709 and uncalibrated bt2020/hdr. But with FFXV, SDR just looks so washed out, whereas HDR is just brilliant.

What does the training do?

Sharpens the mind. Soothes the soul. Also gives you small amount of AP, xp, and helps people become better at battle who suck like me by focusing on mechanics against a solo enemy.

Plus just looks amazing with backdrop of different campsites

In the elemency menu, select an empty flask. Then select the element you want with the d-pad (xb1) and use RB to increase the amount you want to pour in (dont know what this means as of yet). Then click d-pad down to the craft bar and select it and equip.

Fishing lol and in chapter one as well. I'm in no rush , simply fishing for hours now. The food in this game makes me sooo hungry, espacialy in the beahc restaurant wow lol. So hungry now because of the game.

This is how I feel but with the French VA instead of Japanese. Made it too distracting so I changed to English.

A handkerchief, I think? The original announcement was that buying any item got you the jacket, not only the real jacket. So you could get it for $20, which is also expensive as fuck, but not as absurd, in case they never release it on PSN.
