I remember seeing him at the very beginning of the game, and recently went OP so I could pay my little friend a visit. Nope, nobody there anymore - just a few straggling Voretooths. Is his appearance time based?
It doesn't make any sense coeruls (sp?) 20 levels lower than you can instantly kill your entire party, even with 60 thunder defense. Man, they really fucked up the balancing of some enemies.
Edit: damn four tries, instant killing my level 55 party as level 24 mobs every time. 60% thunder resist. I guess I'll come back when I'm level 99 and 100% all resistances. :/
Just to be clear you're referring to the camera not panning out during combat right? Because out of combat the camera position will always be set to near on foot.
Ahhh, yeah I meant out of combat too; ok nice thanks my bro that sorts the camera distance buzz: how about the auto-adjust feature though, doesn't that refer to the camera panning automatically behind Noct when exploring n such, or do you have to manually always re-adjust the camera with right thumbstick - I thought it would work like every other open world game and pan behind the character after a short amount of time running in a certain direction?
Something they need to fix is making sure your companions actually get into range for their techniques and kick them off rather than these long set up animations that end up putting them into the wrong position and missing. Hopefully that's one of the fixes they are looking at.

Depends on the location actually (like a standard JRPG). Try checking the outpost beside Vestapool since they sell the strongest purchasable equipment there.

Have you checked all the stores? The Weapons Shop in Lestallum is pretty decent albeit expensive ware. Checkout the
Malmalum Thicket
dungeon for a sweet sweet broadsword. Also outside
Rock of Ravatough
dungeon there's another nice weapon for a pick up.
Are you using Cid? Sometimes you end up picking items that can help him upgrade your weapons but you forget, so just go to him and see if any thing sticks. Also getting the Ultima blade can be done easily Old Lestallum 'The Last Spiracorns' hunt till u get the item
Chapter 13 is getting overstated. Sure it's pretty shit but it's not that bad. I like it compared to some of the post game stuff. These monsters are no joke, needing to stock up on items constantly. Getting annoying.
Just finished the last of the locked dungeons today in Castlemark Tower. Went well until like the second to last set of levels where they throw two elder coeurls at you. Just couldn't get past them because they just kept healing and instakilling my party. And then after dying about 5 times to them I just somehow killed them in like a minute.
You can literally go back at virtually any point, just speak to Umbra. It warns you and all, but in actuality, you can travel back to the open world in every chapter from 9 and onwards.
Far out, combat still feels like a hot mess to me (8 hours in), but I'm slowly starting to find me feet: much better after adjusting the camera to 'Far' for combat.
I think I need to pay more attention and be more defensive; hack n slash doesn't seem to cut it.......
The Chapters get shorter as you go through the game really, Chapter 11 is literally about 30 minutes. 13 takes about 2.5 hours but its just tedious more than anything.
I've just reached Chapter 4, and I'm wondering if I'm a bit overlevelled?
I'm currently level 39, and the last sorry mission I did, which was
the tomb behind the waterfall
was recommended for level 18 I think. I've not been grinding, I've just been doing what I did in Dragon's Dogma, so get a story mission available, do all available sidequests, finish story mission etc.
I'm still getting wrecked by things in the open world, like Couerls etc., But that story mission was really easy.
Would you recommend I slow down on the levelling, or should I keep on at the same pace in case there's a sudden roadblock in terms of difficulty?
Finally, I unlocked Ignis' skill which gives Noctis an elemental infusion based on what the enemy is weak to. Does he need to use Libra on an enemy to determine the weakness first, or is it done as soon as you use the skill?
