Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

hesistant on if I should go back and do post game content.

The end of the story gameplay wasn't fun at all with the difficulty spike. 50% of the battle is me waiting for the slow item casting animations because my dumbass party members are DANGER or dead most of the time.

I didn't really pay much attention to gear or abilities though, maybe thats the problem? Like im not sure what accessories matter or what stats to prioritize.

And for some reason blind ignis can't use lvl 2 abilities like regroup?

Are you talking about the Final Fantasy theme? bruh...

It's so funny because I remember thinking that when i beat FFVIII after FFVII.

"Oh its so neat how they used the FF7 ending theme in the FF8 one!"

I had never played any FF before those though...I don't know how he did that.

Ifrit released the same plague that partly caused Ardyn's eventual decent:

In the end they both hated humanity and the gods.

It's just some rock that fell to Eos he decided to catch it and then decided to sleep while holding it

Bahamut could be more human, like Ifrit. Not sure.
Alot of this stuff is in the guidebook or wiki's

Yes the guidebook was helpful in explaining this but I am very disappointed this was not in game for us loremongers to find. Big oversight in my opinion, especially since the Starscourge is so important.

Isn't the meteor what brought the Starscourge to Eos?

Now you see, Ifrit being the one that caused the Starscourge should have been explained in the game proper. It should be an information that you can get while playing the game, not when you read a guidebook or something. And since that information is important, it should have been placed in a place where the player is guaranteed to come across it.

As it is right now, it seems like Ifrit is like just a random boss who played second fiddle to Ardyn.

Sigh... this game.

Nothing I've read suggests that. The plague is like one of the first things to happen in Eos
I swear there were some documents in World of Ruin Hammerhead which talked about micro organisms brought to Eos with the meteor that absorbed light and turned people into Daemons.

Edit: Am I just imagining the meteor connection? Wish I could go back to WoR Hammerhead to check.

According to the 1.03 patch thread, they added a cutscene to the infamous Jared is dead scene?

Wait, Ifrit was the ultimate big bad? I had no idea.

Why would you cut such a basic piece of info? What was his motivation? "Humans bad!"?

Makes me wish SE would release English Ultimanias. Or, y'know, lock down a script before making a game.

I didn't have any problems with it? It kept up with Noctis pretty well. The camera was a problem with bigger enemies when you got near them and in small spaces, but otherwise it was ok. Could've used some improvements but all-in-all I could still follow the action most of the time.

It's fine in the open world, but in tight quarters and with huge enemies like Ifrit, holy shit I wish it helped me reorient the camera towards him, because i sure couldn't do it fast enough.

"FFVIII's ending theme"...?

2591771-c-mon-son-o.gif

It wasn't? That bit with Noctis and Luna's marriage and morphing into the FFXV logo? It sounded to me like FFVIII's after credits ending with Squall and Rinoa on the ship? Ah.... now THAT was an ending.

ch13 reminds me of Undertale if anyone's played that.

I really wish theyd kill off people that you cared about or at least build up luna to be worth caring about.

Every 'emotional' moment failed for me :/

Anyone else find the final battle horrible once you go super saiyan? I can't tell if the phantom blades on the screen are mine or his...

The part where Prompto reveals himself to be a clone or MT or whatever was the worst. It's a cliche that has been used a million times before. That's OK, but other games and stories have had actual character development and character interactions related to revelations like that other than "We cool brah."

The game has no camera auto lock-on mode right? Then yes, now that you've mentioned it, super saiyan is not as much fun as it could be no thanks to the camera. For my part, I can't tell where the enemy is and where the hell I'm going. Same with the fight with Levia-san.

On Luna - I feel it was barely adequate, but I think had they shown us her scene with her brother (and then just make it shorter to show it again later for when Noctis learns of her difficulties) it would have worked better.

That's the main Final Fantasy theme. It's not just used in VIII.

Ooooooh thanks. Yep, not a hardcore FF fan here. Only played starting from 7, lol.

Ifrit was literally Lucifer incarnate in the game, not shocked he ended up being the one behind everything. Wish we got some more information about it in the game but oh well.

Yeah...I could never tell what was hitting me. It was literally the only time in the game that I had to use a Phoenix Down on Noctis (I didn't want to risk possibly redoing the first phase).

The way you're "supposed" to do it is by staying far away from him, holding down attack, and flying in circles, I think. If you go into close range, you just get randomly slaughtered.

Magna Insomnia is waaaay to good for that trash fight.

I guess yeah, he's more man-with-a-tail in this game than a dragon. I actually thought he had proper wings, but upon further review it turns out they're just his swords floating behind him in a wing shape!

lol someone else died too i think if you talk to like your housemaiden or someone at destroyed tenebae.

its like 'someone died' ...k

Wait, what? Ifrit is not just a random boss?

It's a serious story exclusion that SE needs to address. Even the 13 trilogies' datalogs, for all their faults, had way more info about their world to digest.

Here's another pressing question: Why does it take 'several weeks' for Noctis and co. to get to the Niflhiem continent when the Empire can fly there in less than a day. Even taking the boat should only take a few days.

Wait, what? Ifrit is not just a random boss?

Yeah seriously wat?

Sigh, you see Square?

Yeap, the battle itself is cool and seriously Ifrit looked great, but seriously, why would they put such an important information not within the game itself to gave the fight more context and thus more meaningful? Urghhhhhh.........

Is it bad that I felt more for the dream death of Pryna the dog then for all of the other side character deaths combined?
What happened to Pryna anyway?

(They did such a poor job with Luna that I cared more about dream dog dying than her too.)
