Final Fantasy XV TGS 2014 Trailer: English Voices

KRATOS and Noctis seperated at birth???

lol, he looks like a dark souls created character.

Those voices are gonna take some getting used to after all those years of listening to the Japanese ones. Especially Noctis', I was expecting him to have a much higher voice.
Though in a way, I guess the deep voice suits him.

Not a fan of the dub. Maybe it's because I've been hearing the game in Japanese for so long that I'm not used to it but it didn't sound great. Did Square say if they would have dual audio?

Good thing is that we know this gaming is actually moving along in prodiction.

I've never felt that English VO has ever worked for JRPGs, mainly because scripts never translate well - and this trailer hasn't moved me from that position.

I hope that Lightening Returns was the start of mandatory Japanese VO DLC at launch for Square Enix - because I'd struggle to justify a purchase of this game without it.

REALLY? What ridiculous hyperbole. I say this as someone who didn't really care for the voices either.

Such a terrible trailer. So nonsensical. Random bits of dialogue that don't go together, interspersed with combat at strange times.

Who edits these fucking things?

At least the music's great.

The big one that ended with the multiple portraits of the characters and the reveal of the name change to XV had far better pacing and flow.

The blonde dude was especially annoying in Japanese so the English dub is automatically an improvement in my book.

I didn't play enough XIII to judge the English voices, but XII had an amazing dub (sound quality was iffy) so I have high hopes for this.

Kojima should get a part time job as a trailer editor

Why is it hyperbole? If I can't get immersed into the game because of cringe worthy dialogue - it's not going to be a very enjoyable experience for me and as such it isn't going to get my time or my money.

I liked the voices. Noctis sounded a bit weird at first but I'll get use to it.

Yeah! It was so hard to nail down which voice was his for much of the trailer, even when he said lines I recognized, because it sounded so different. After that "been a long time..." line, though, I could feel myself starting to like it already. :P

Definitely deeper than expected, but still has a youthful quality to the delivery. Overall, I'm optimistic about the VA so far. It's funny seeing people associating the English voices, specifically, with anime...like the Japanese ones don't invoke anime whatsoever. Is the writing/acting somehow more Hollywood in the Japanese version, or something? You're going to get some anime vibes from a Square Enix RPG. That doesn't have to be a horrible thing, though!

Noctis actually sounds cooler than I imagined him to sound, pretty good. - I don't like the others, however. They sound kinda..awkward and forced, I guess? It's going to take some getting used to.

I wish they would have toned down the music a bit and put in some subtitles. I couldn't understand a bit of what they were saying.

So bad. Lolalol at Noctis' voice...

Come on Square Enix, you promised the original Japanese voices in Europe, don't let us down.

SE is simply STUPID!!!

WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOW THIS AT PSX INSTEAD OF FF7 TROLLING ?

Stealth releasing trailers is a better idea to them ?

Tidus was fine. People bring up his laughing scene as an example of why he's bad. But it fits perfectly in context. It was supposed to be obnoxious. He did a good job.

The worst part of English Tidus is nobody told him that the narration was supposed to be done at the same age as the rest of his dialog.

Yea I think it's because I'm so used to the Japanese VA and probably the fact that the sound mixing is way off for this trailer that I think it sounds weird. At end I liked the way Noctis/Prompto sounded. I need to hear more of Galdiolus and Ignis to really say whether I like it or not.

I do think using the TGS trailer was a very off way to reveal the english VAs. They should of used the E3 trailer.

But who knows, we are getting a new trailer this month. Maybe this one will also have the english VAs and be better mixed.

Tabata asked at a fan event in France a little bit back about having Japanese voices in the game for the international releases and was met with a huge amount of cheering and clapping. So it very well may happen. Since he knows that many people would be interested in it, myself included. But you are right its gonna take some getting used to the english VAs after only hearing the Japanese VAs for years.

Edit: Also Type-0 will have dual audio so there is hope.

The Voice acting is fine.

I don't see how the Japanese voices are better.Prompto was awful with his moaning and the rest sounded really anime-typical.The only one I like was Noctis in the Japanese dub.

Same as FFXIII,the English voice acting is probably better this time around.
