Kinda sucks they only used the top 2 females for both gens for the DLC instead of 3.
;_;
Godammt Cynthia stop dying.
How can I recruit her. She keeps attacking Chrom and dying.

Stay out of her range, but get Chrom as close to her as possible. After the enemy turn ends, get Chrom to talk to her.

needs to show more effort.
I'm stuck on Paralogue 2 in Hard mode. Anna keep dying before I can reach her.

To break through to her, I've been using Lon'qu, Miriel+Rick and Stahl. They can't get there quickly enough.

I figure that I could use Lissa with a Rescue staff, but Sumia's the only flier I have. Archers kill her in one hit.
I had to have a pegasus knight flight straight to her to get there in time. Not stopping for anything. I think what I did was pair Sumia with Chrom and switched to Chrom if archers were in range.

Why can't Dark Fliers and Dark Knights use dark magic? Very disappointing. =(

^ I agree. The story is not the best, but it's not horrible either. Pretty neutral. It's strength is just how much content there is. So many possibilities in terms of class composition, supports, characters, etc. And lots of Paralogues and Spotpass is great, too.

I don't know why people are harping on this games story

FE has never been about the story, and imo FE:Awakening ended up having one of the better stories. Time travel is awesome.

It's essentially down to luck on hard if you're not brave enough to take a Peg Knight into harm's way. You have a chance if she dodges some of the bandit attacks, otherwise it's basically too far to reach before she dies. I used a Defense Tonic on Frederick, let him and Lon'Qu tank most of the units that try to cross the bridge to the right of where your units begin (you'll need Lon'Qu to critical one or two enemies to thin out the jam sufficiently, otherwise you'll lose a turn), and made a beeline for Anna once there was a clear path.

I also gave him a Strength Tonic as soon as I could after he broke free of the pack because he can one-shot archers with his Silver Lance, and if you can take one or two out in the forest right before you reach Anna or at least distract their attention, her odds of survival go up even more. Make sure to have Vulneraries on you in case he takes too much damage. He's sturdy but all of those axes and magic attacks add up if you're not lucky and keep getting hit.

At first I was trying to play this game like the Devil Survivor games (the SRPGs I have most experience with), but they are pretty different. Right now I'm more used to the combat and strategy of Fire Emblem and I'm having a fantastic time with this game.

Seriously top quality material.

The story and the characters is the best part of the game for me. It just so happens I'm enjoying the gameplay too.

Finally had a chance to break out the FE 3DS console. Man is it beautiful. Much better looking than I anticipated. The hinge feels looser than my Zelda 3DS though.

Does it really matter which unit marries who?

I've married 4 couples already but I want to know if it matters if they married the right person or not. :/

You should be marrying:

- My Unit
- Cordelia
- Sumia
- Tharja
- Olivia
- Lissa
- Cherche
- Miriel
- Sully
- Maribelle
- Panne
- Nowi

People hate Vaike? :(

Dude rocks. Next to Chrom, he's my beast.

I can't speak to his average growths, but he starts pretty vulnerable on the defense side of things, and my Vaike didn't gain speed quickly enough (bad RNG) to consistently double enemies. He lived long enough to sire a son with Miriel but actually died on that very paralogue.

Your kids should turn out well even if you don't get "ideal" pairings. The main thing is that if you want the kids to appear, you have to make sure certain characters (the ones listed above) get married. So if you start running short on potential fathers, that could be a problem.

Well, the game is still great since I wasted more than 40 hours on it already.

I was contemplating playing Lunatic then thought what's the point if you just have to grind to win it?

You don't have to. I played Hard/Classic only doing Chapters and Prologues (and none of this cheating dancer stuff). I'm doing the same now on Lunatic/Classic. It's very possible to beat the Chapters and Prologues without grinding. But it is difficult and a significant jump up from Hard mode.

Bolded are married, and underlined are in the process. Guess I have most of them covered, thanks.

Also, what happens if a character gets two S rank supports?

Just got Noire. Daaaamn female archers are busty in this.

Problem with no grinding on Lunatic is that the difficulty chokes a lot of potential xp out of the non-Frederick's since everyone besides Fred, Avatar, Chrom, and Lon'qu get curbstomped by everything early on. By the time things level out those 3 or 4 characters are the only ones who have gotten enough experience to tango with Valm and since this game despises chokepoints and defendable positions for some reason getting anyone else up naturally is trying and annoying.

There's no doubt the beginning of a Lunatic playthrough is very tough. There's a little RNG luck involved too. I just finished Chapter 15 though, and things are easing up, particularly on my selection of characters.

Aside from Chrom and my Avatar, I have a great Lucina, Kellam, and Sumia for close quarter combat, Virion and Miriel for range, and Lissa and Maribelle for healers. I just got Morgan too, so I'm trying to get her some kills now. My Fred and Lon'qu died a while back. Again, this is Lunatic for Chapters/Prologues only.

Edit: I'm not saying this way is going to be fun for everyone. But if you want the challenge, Lunatic is more than possible without grinding. It's probably possible for Chapters only, but (a) I'd feel as if I'm missing out on content there and (b) I don't think I'm that much of a masochist.

Okay guys, I have a problem that may not belong in here necessarily, but it's at least related to the game. Just got a download code for the game as a gift, and I simply can't clear out enough space for it on my main SD card. However, I do have a secondary SD I could currently fit it on. If I wanted to download it now, would it be stuck forever on that SD card, or is there a way to transfer such data around? For example, let's say I go out and just grab a bigger SD card later. Is there a way I could compile all my data there, or will it just be stuck?

AFAIK, the real problem is that the save data is attached to the download rather than being a separate file, so if you ever want to erase it from the SD card for whatever reason, you'll have to lose your file.

So technically, yes, it'll be stuck there in a way. Not sure if you can transfer it normally from one card to another.

Up to Chapter 11 and having a blast. I admit I wussed out and made it so ally deaths weren't permanent. I'm OCD about that kind of thing, and didn't look forward to constantly rebooting fights over and over.

I missed two recruits,
Kellam and Gaius
, but I'm not going to fret too much.

I honestly don't use Vaike too much, unless I feel like leveling him at a random encounter.

I also married Chrom and Sumia. When they're paired, those two are an unstoppable engine of war. No one can get a hit in, and they almost always double team their opponent.

Aww, they're probably two of the best units on my entire force right now! I have Gaius and Sumia married and with her backing up his already-ridiculous speed, he's nearly unhittable. Kellam is easily my best wall, and for all the time he spends on the front-lines I've got a number of supports building up with him, which makes him even better in that role. Just add Donnel and you've got a hell of a team.

Funny thing that might happen to you if you return to DS/DS2 after playing only FE: You might find yourself trying to use the controls (and in less proportion the strategies) of FE in DS...

Happened to me. Tried to use the L button to switch a character, for example

Damn you, Muscle Memory!

So I'm trying to recruit me a hot silver-haired Severa (thank you, based Father Virion), and she keeps running off across the map in Ally mode. Am I supposed to cut a beeline up the middle of the castle and head her off at the pass with Chrom in order to recruit her?

Also, that tip to unequip Chrom's weapons to recruit Cythnia would've been REALLY helpful. I ended up baiting her with one of my weaker characters, Panne, and then closing in with Chrom. The villain escaped the map as a result.

The Wiki says that Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776 have both.
FE4 has two dancers but both aren't playable at the same time.

FE5 has one Dancer, but enemy teams had multiple Dancers (yet another reason why FE5 is such a troll game).

There is a Bard class in this games, but it has nothing to do with dancing (they're basically Mages).

Send Chrom or Cordelia to talk with her (she should be easy enough to reach on the first turn), the objective from there is more or less an escort mission. Make sure you send up soldiers to clear the path ahead of her, she'll fall under your control as soon as she reaches
her villager friend
(is that even a spoiler?). She's pretty frail, so it's important that you take care of enemies that come into range of her. It's not that difficult with a couple Pegasus Knights.

Is there any option to change the difficulty in the middle of your campaign? I'm on mission 5 and it's been pretty simple so far. :/

Excellent, thanks for the tips. :)

LOVE THIS GAME.

Rescue Staff. Severa's AI is really dumb. Severa has to talk to Holland (the Enemy Villager), and she'll become a Blue Unit after that. You pretty much have to clean the road for her.

Alternatively you can grind Cordelia and Virion to ridiculously high levels so that when you retry Severa's Paralogue her stats are higher, and therefore won't require much protection.
