Sounds normal to me.
I see. I thought I'd use them to lvl up my weaker members but I was just getting murdered out there.
Sounds normal to me.
I'm playing on normal/classic and had no major problems so far (up until chapter 14 or so). No I'm playing sidequest 9 and I'm getting freaking slaughtered. How am I supposed to survive this sidequest? Guess I will finally get some DLC to level up... Also:With which dude do I need to convince Cynthia to join my team? Chrom?
Marriages so far: Chrom + Sumia, Frederick + Cordelia

So tomorrow is EXPonetioal Growth/Champions of Yore 2 day on Europe.
How "hard" is EXPonntial Growth? I have a few stragglers I'd like to catch up... like a level 2 Cavalier Stahl and a level 3 Mage Miriel and a couple more in that area. Can they fight these things on their own or should they have awesome backup in a Pair Up to win? I mean, I'll probably give them that for oomph anyway, but I could train more of them if they didn't need it.
CoY2 is probably not a problem considering I'm at chapter 20 in the story now.

Do they attack on the enemy phase? I mean in Golden Gaffe, they just run. If they don't attack on the enemy phase and they're all Entombed who don't have range attacks, they're all mage fodder. Going to be harder to train sword users, though, I think only the Levin Sword has range. Not hard at all. Just make sure you attack Level 30 Entombed with range attacks. They have counter.
The one food-related set of supports that I've actually liked out of the ones I've gotten/seen would probably be Male Avatar x Nah, as that one actually is kind of sweet. The others I've seen have been more meh and pretty much stick to that same kind of formula, yeah.Huh, Noire x Owain...unsure how to feel about this because:/that cakes S support remind me of pies

Well, as long as my guy has more HP than the enemy, I can still smack 'em in melee and let the healers get some EXP, too. They all run down the map as well and only run down the map. And, it is only the level 30's with counter that are really the only 'threat'. You can easily have your non-ranged guys smack up the level 10s and 20s.

EDIT: Or just run Golden Gaffe and buy a pile of Rescue staffs. That's good EXP...
I did the same thing. I don't know if to switch back to Tangel once I get fast burn (that was the reason for going this route) or just stick to cleaning up things with Wryvern Lord.On my second playthrough I reclassed Panne to Wyvern Knight...
Let's just say... Dat Attack and Defense. Now I am wondering if I should marry her to Donny to get an insane Yarne.
Edit: GODDAMN! Yarne with Panne/Donny+Aptitude and as a Mercenary nearly destroys Inigo's growths. Plus, I think Yarne comes at Lv 10 so instant reclass.
Something like Champions of Yore 1 would be better to grind for healer experience than Golden Gaffe, because you can stay on the map indefinitely as long as you don't defeat the enemy healers, where as Golden Gaffe is finite and will cost you time just getting back into it over and over after only a couple of turns per run.
That or just pick on a SpotPass team that has a healer boss like Mist or Moulder. Murder everyone else and then just start spamming staves when the healer is the only one left alive.
I've done that before and it works fine, but I realize I'm too stingy with my money to pay for them, so I don't do that anymore.
Edit: Oh, never mind. I'm remembering wrong. You don't even need to pay gold to do that.
Henry can become a barbarian huh..?
Yay, blood!
It's mostly interesting cause I like the skill Bullion.
Though alas, I can't help but feel like it'd utterly and completely screw over a magic-centered character to be forced to go through 10 levels of barbarian.
Won't the NPC characters run up and kill the boss? Had Ike kill Elincia last time I did CoY1. That's just wrong...Something like Champions of Yore 1 would be better to grind for healer experience than Golden Gaffe, because you can stay on the map indefinitely as long as you don't defeat the enemy healers, where as Golden Gaffe is finite and will cost you time just getting back into it over and over after only a couple of turns per run.

Can anyone explain the exact mechanics of the skill Astra to me btw?

Five hits, half damage. Can critical. If Astra triggers you get at least 2.5 times the damage. It's slightly weaker than a normal critical hit like that, but since it's a Swordmaster skill, you're likely to get a critical anyway for 1.5 times normal damage on an Astra hit.Can anyone explain the exact mechanics of the skill Astra to me btw?
I've had them survive every time. Of course, I heal them, too. If my guys don't get hit and Lissa or whoever needs a Heal for EXP, I go to the NPCs for that.I always imagined it would be unlikely for that to happen, since I've never seen them survive the whole way through, let alone reach the boss. That is an interesting point, though.
Also, I guess you could be a smartass and Rescue the NPCs away from the boss so they'd take longer to get there.
With his lov- uh I mean buddy Soren on his side. I always knew he whispered some evil shit in his ear.Usurper Ike learning from his old buddy Ashnard how to climb the royal ladder.
I don't think you can trigger other skills off an Astra hit, though. That'd just be crazy. Then again, this game...

Just for reference's sake. If you have Lifetaker or Galeforce and kill an enemy off Astra, you still get the 50% heal/extra turn, right? Wondering if I should pass down Astra and Lifetaker to a Manakete Morgan. Just for the amusing effect of a dragon shooting the enemy five times and heals off it.Nope, you can't. Not in this game. Only one Mastery skill can activate at a time.
I've not seen it happen, but I've had critical hits on any of the 5 Astra hits so if criticals can trigger on any of them I can't see what would stop them activating on multiple ones.I am not sure if each individual hit can critical or not.
Not tried Lifetaker, but yes, Galeforce will trigger if you kill an enemy with Astra as well.Just for reference's sake. If you have Lifetaker or Galeforce and kill an enemy off Astra, you still get the 50% heal/extra turn, right?

Boot ... +2 movement.
That sounds awesome.
