Great thread title. And considering how much time they spent with the Twin Peaks Rewatch podcast I have to hope some of that bled through into the game. Aside from all the ghosts (kidding).
Yooo, are they called for snow?
Took me about 4, almost 5 hours, but there were some things I missed so I could have explored more. Dev has said 5-6 hours
£10 says it was someone from NeoGAF.The first comment on that Guardian review is brilliant.
Imagine spending the time opening a review of a videogame you know already that you have no interest in because you don't like videogames, reading it anyway, and then posting a comment to complain about how little time there is in the world.
I´ve been looking forward to this game since Playstation E3 conference last year. Can´t believe it´s already happening.
Anyone knows at what time does the embargo end? I want to make sure it was worth the wait before I pony up $20.
Yeah, Jake did such an amazing job with the map. I wish I could erase my memory of the layout because I'd love to experience what it's like to actually need it.
Does anyone have any insight on why they went with either the PS4 or Steam versions? Still trying to decide the best way to experience this game.
I'm getting it on the PS4 because I want to see it on a big TV - oh and for the theme too.

If I can give one piece of advice, it's to turn off the "Show location on map" option. I'm a hiker and they totally nailed the feeling of using your map, compass, and landmarks to orient yourself and find your way.
It's not you, it's hard to read as color-seeing too. :<Can't read the ot, not exactly colour blind friendly lol. Interested in this for sure, hope it lives up to its promise.
Now to be fair, I started the game last week, so I don't recall now if it was off by default or if I turned it off, but I definitely recommend playing it with that option offThat sounds amazing, should have been off by default.
I too am going to play this on a big TV but I went with the Steam version because my PC is more powerful than my PS4.
I have to ask the backlog lady if it's good.

Review embargo is in a few hours! No reviews and it releases tomorrow...oh well, looks great, getting it anyway.

My PC is a bit too far from my TVs to hook up. I might double-dip and get it on Steam later.
So won't be out tomorrow roughly 6:00PM GMT ;(
To Chris, Jake and Olly: Any chance of you guys (plus others at Campo Santo) getting together and doing a podcast solely about Firewatch? It would be really cool to sometime down the line hear about how it was made and what led you to make certain choices.
I'm excited to see the reviews for this game.
Here's one I saw on reddit that they seemed to like.

Yeah, 10 am PST. The developers stated they did this so that they can have staff available for support after the game's launch, something that wasn't feasible for a midnight, staggered, release.
Yeah, I'd love this.
Pretty unrelated to this thread, but if a steam link is feasible with your current set up, it's definitely worth it.

>Open Steam
>Get Firewatch
>Watch fires

Same here. I'm also going to buy the PS4 theme. Love the aesthetic.I'm going with the PC version, since my PC easily outperforms my PS4 and I'm assured it will be backwardscompatible with my next PC. Combine that with the comfy couch convenience of Steam's big picture mode and I feel I'm getting the best of both worlds.
