It this based on Vox Machina? Maybe it's just the red haired druid chick with horns.

Looks fun. Nice to see a black dragon spitting acid as well.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
That looks shockingly good. Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez are usually pretty good.
I might have to see this.

Remember, Orcs and Drow aren't evil anymore.

They are in my game. Good thing about RPGs is you're free to use or discard whatever you like.

Which makes all this push to sanitize a fantasy setting even dumber. Want orcs to be good? Go right ahead. Want evil orcs? Have evil orcs.

I don't need wizards of the coast to provide me with a diaper to play DnD.

They better have one character die and be replaced by a completely different character played by the same guy.
That's probably too meta but it would be cool if they somehow alluded to saving throws, natural 20s and 1s, and stuff like that without quite breaking the 4th wall.

I'm actually kinda surprised we've not seen more direct litRPG stuff where the game "rules" can be observed and exploited. I guess it tends to lean more towards computer game stuff like Free Guy, Tron, and Ready Player One.

I have no idea what tone they are going for here but I'm definitely going to see this in the cinema. Looks like a ton of fun!

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I liked that trailer! I don't know if I'd have prefered a more serious tone but whatever, looks like a fun movie to watch.

Also, lots of d&d stuff alrrady show... Owlbear, displacer beast, black dragon and a mimic, all looking amazing! Hopefully there are more, like a Beholder, love those dudes.

It's taking place in Forgotten Realms. The city they showed looked a LOT like Waterdeep. Maybe Xanather will show up?

Neverwinter.

This is the plot filed with the copyright office:
An ex-Harper turned thief escapes from prison with his partner, a female barbarian, and reunites with a no-talent wizard and a druid new to their team in an effort to rob the cheating conman who stole all their loot from the heist that landed them behind bars, and used it to install himself as the Lord of Neverwinter. Only the traitor is allied with a powerful Red Wizard who has something far more sinister in store.

Don’t like the vibe. getting bored of these too self aware everything is jokey jokey joke movies that undermine their own stakes. This looks like one of those.
I don't think it looks bad and I'll watch it. I agree though with the jokes. I would like it better with a more serious vibe. Too many movies do this shtick at this point.

Looks good to me. I don’t mind dipping into some humor, but for the love of god don’t go full Thor Love and Thunder.

I’m starting to really enjoy these cheesy blockbusters nowadays. I even liked jungle cruise and the new Jurassic world…… I’m not sure why but this seems like something I’ll enjoy even though it looks so stupid.

What time is it?
I will never forget seeing the first D&D movie in a completely sold out SF theater on a Friday night.

When Tom Baker showed up, some guy in the front yelled, "OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY DONE TO TOM?!"

There is a line in that movie that goes something like "friends, it is now time to act" to which I shouted out, "no, that was 45 minutes ago". Good times.

Hrm.

I like the production values. Nice visuals. Always nice to see fantasy worlds and characters come alive like that, but..

I hope the Zeppelin track isn't indicative of the soundtrack. We already have A Knight's Tale. And I prefer my D&D fantasy to sport the expected dialects and accents. I don't like when fantasy uses modern, everyday characterization. The whole point of fantasy is to, you know, escape the everyday.

Also, of all the Zeppelin tracks they could have chosen, they chose that? Not feelin it.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on it, but will probably wait for word of mouth before I get too excited.

I have never seen a game of D&D where people don’t joke around and have fun. There is no party in the world that is super serious all the time, even during super serious events. Heck, games based in and around the D&D worlds have always had lighthearted elements. Baldur’s Gate, PlaneScape: Torment, Legends of Drizzt, etc.

Man I remember Reading Ths Dark Elf Trilogy and The Icewind Dale Trilogy by R A Salvatore in Highschool. Such great books. Would love a live action adaptation of those books

Same! Sadly I don’t think we would ever see a Dark Elf trilogy given today’s cultural climate. The murderous, psychotic, and blatantly chaotic evil matriarchal Menzoberranzan would not be accepted. Plus, correct me if I am wrong, didn’t Wizards of the Coast outright change the history/lore of the Dark Elves to not be evil aligned? Same with orcs in an effort to appease racists who assumed other people were racist?
