Anyone here read The Blizzard? Seen some pretty good reviews, and their first (and only) 2 issues are 'pay-what-you-like'. Gonna give them a read this week.

Payed for the first (0) issue, i haven't gotten the second one yet. Quite interesting although i thought the article on dutch football was a bit iffy for ignoring the Van Bommel angle. Why Van Bommel gets a pass but De Jong gets crucified is an interesting subplot to the story.

Ordered Issue 1 a few days ago. Waiting for it to arrive. Wanted to get Issue 0 too but it's out of stock =( may just get the online version.

I'm gonna get them both online for now, but was hoping to get the physical copies too if I like them. Shame that Zero is out of stock. The title alone (with the tag 'limited edition') makes me assume it was a trial run, and likely wont get a reprint.

Substitute Lisa with "Summer transfers."

Edit: Not the one I posted. The first one posted on the caf, I mistakenly posted the more obvious photoshopped pic. But then again, I just woke up... :lol

Sneijder is too difficult to pull of IMO. It'll take at the very least £35m and we'd have to make him out highest paid player just to equal his current pay packet. At 27 he doesn't have a long career ahead of him either. Very unlikely.

Seems like his wife is very high maintenance too.

Worst part of Sneijder (and something people seem to have forgotten lately) is that he is ridiculously injury prone. That was the reason Madrid sold him. And something like that just becomes even bigger problem in a league like PL.

Nope they sold him because they're stupid.

We're living in an age where a lot of big players are still performing well into their thirties. And it's not like we're short of long-term solutions (the youth talent in midfield at United speak for themselves). Sneijder would be an excellent signing because he would be an excellent short-term solution to a short-term problem. However, it would never hurt to bring in another long-term signing, as we probably will do. But nothing is certain. The transfer window hasn't even opened yet!

Alexis Sanchez is new Barcelona player, he is flying tomorrow to Barcelona to finalise the deal.

28 millions euros plus another 11 based on player performance.

Well that's the big transfer of the summer done. Barca got a good deal there I think, probably because he came out and said he wanted to go to Barca. Rumours are that they have to/want to sell David Villa to offset this transfer. But I doubt anyone will give them the €35-40million they want for him. Maybe Chelsea or City.

Rosell said that they could use the transfer budget of next season for this season. So Fabregas will probably be next.

Rossi is out of the picture imo, not coming to Barcelona.

In more important news, Tevez looks to be staying at City. :D

Agent says Tevez could stay

Carlos Tevez's agent says the striker has not set his heart on leaving Manchester City and could yet remain at Eastlands after addressing some personal problems.

Tevez has long been expected to leave City after repeatedly expressing his unhappiness with life in England, despite the impressive form which saw him score 23 goals last season as City won the FA Cup and secured Champions League football.

However, it is reported on Sunday that City have struck a compromise with Tevez that will see the Argentina star stay at the club for two more seasons before then being allowed to return to his home country, though not Spain or Italy, on a free transfer.

Agent Kia Joorabchian says Tevez has made progress in dealing with some family issues and hinted the player could be convinced to stay at City.

Joorabchian told the Daily Star Sunday: “I don’t think speculation about Carlos leaving is fair at the moment. I don’t think money is a consideration.

“Maybe it’s a case of his family coming over to him. That’s something he’s trying to sort out. I’m sure in the next week he will sort the family issue out. Once he does, he will announce it and everyone will be in a better place.

“Carlos has always had a goal. The goal was that City needed to get into the Champions League and win a trophy. And they won a trophy and achieved that goal. Now that has given him a tremendous feeling. He held that trophy with a lot of pride.

“If you look at the team they are going to get stronger and stronger and, if Carlos stays, they would be my favourite to win the title. I’m sure that will be a factor in his mind and, the fact that City fans have embraced him, will count for a lot along with his great relationship with the supporters.

“I think all these factors will be positives for him to stay. Carlos has not made any decision to move. We have not asked to leave the club.”

The bit about the free transfer is important, because it means he can go back to Boca straight away and not have to deal with the red tape of still being in contract. Awesome!

I'd be amazed a club with the spending power of City would bend over so far backwards for Tevez.

Really? He's proven himself time and time again. He will score goals, he will win games single-handily. Someone like Tevez is a priceless commodity, and if we get two more years out of him, it could be the difference between going places in the league and CL or not.

Anyway, he's peaking now, two more years and he'll be entering the twilight zone, so City are laughing.

Can anyone try and give some good reasons as to why Rossi would be a good signing for a team like Barcelona? I was quite surprised when I first heard that they wanted him, especially for big money.

In other news, looks like Taraabt's situation at QPR is changing as he's not happy with their contract offer and could be looking to move elsewhere now. He's welcomed a link to Newcastle, more specifically.

Rossi is can play as a second striker/attacking midfielder or primarily as a striker. He is very good technically and can play in a variety of positions across the final third which would suit Barca's high possession tactics and their movement between their front three. Rossi deserves to be at a club challenging for the CL again, he is just too good to for Villareal currently(no offence intended to Villareal fans).

villareal has a pretty decent team + cl qualifier

rossi will probably join one of the big serie a clubs next summer

surprised villareal didn't sell him to spurs for ... 35m was it?

He's worth it and his production merits it. I still wish we kept him.

Also recognizing that we just bent and spread to appease Rooney last season.

"Triple S Sports" agency reckon that Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign N'Zogbia - transfer fee and personal terms agreed and he'll have a medical when he's back from holiday. Never heard of them before though, so I'll believe it when it's on .tv. The Triple S webiste has been "coming soon" for 2 years, plus the Twitter account was called "FootballAgent1" when they first hinted at the news. Skeptical.

Ladies & Gents, the identity of the mystery player that Liverpool Football Club have agreed personal terms with is Charles N’Zogbia. A fee has been agreed with Wigan, personal terms have been agreed with the player’s representatives & the player will undergo a medical and sign a contract when he returns from holiday. The Deal is not yet ‘official’ but subject to a medical being passed, N’Zogbia will be a Liverpool player.

Decent signing if true. He'll probably want to move to a bigger club after a year though.

Ah fuck that's the end of Mata/Cazorla/Downing if true. Not a bad signing though.

We did tolerate Rooney and ended up giving him a pay rise but Tevez gets extra extra special treatment at City. I doubt that would be given at United. There are special cases but considering he shows zero effort to adapt to England and City do everything they can to help him...I'm surprised they don't let him go and use the money they have to replace him. He is repealable, he's no Ronaldo or Messi.

Not liking that blue United kit.

Most people seem to think it's bollocks, and I've never heard of this Triple S lot either. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I doubt he'd want to be one of Barca's training cones like Phil Jones though. Besides, ain't no place bigger than ours.

It is probably bollocks, though I'd welcome N'Zogbia for his new determined attitude and ability to play anywhere across the front, as well as his great form for Wigan. Certainly better than Jovanovic or Joe Cole. Juan Mata would still be a good addition regardless, but I somehow doubt we'll get him.

Not necessarily, you're stocking up on CM's and you could still use a further winger.

N'Zogbia is better than all mentioned but Mata IMO anyway.

Yeah hopefully now that the Marveaux deal is dead we splash out on more than one winger. I have sneaky feeling Henderson will end up on the right though at times next year.

I'm still holding out hope there's something to this friendly we've arranged with Valencia - most friendlies we've played (outside of tours/friendly cups) have involved some sort of player acquisition (Atletico with Torres, Villareal with Reina and Feyenoord with Kuyt), so hopefully this is similar for Mata.

Yeah N'Zogbia would be a great signing for Liverpool. A worthy left winger with a lot of Prem experience is just what you guys need.

Still, the source is questionable at best. Definitely came out of nowhere.

I saw on Sky Betting that bets on N'Zogbia have been stopped after a huge amount of bets were placed on him going to Newcastle. If anything, I don't think we need him now that we've signed Marveaux and Ben Arfa is back.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least something in that.

Either N'Zogbia or Mata, plus a striker and a couple of defenders and we're set for next season, assuming we don't start haemorraging decent squad players.

Ignore twitter rumours, especially these 'xxxagentxxx' ones. Dalglish seems to want to build an English base and I reckon he'll go for Downing before N'Zogbia.

I hope so too. But was dismayed this morning when I saw a few Spanish teams are touring the UK this summer. Valencia are also playing Leicester apparently. Real, Bilbao and Villareal are also coming over here for pre-season. But I'm still hoping.

And since everyone was talking about the blizzard earlier.

Brondby was promised a friendly after Liverpool signed Agger. Still waiting for that one!
