Lol Joe Cole.I know Dos Santos has a lot of talent but Harry Redknapp in the past has questioned his professionalism.I know he hasnt sold him because he thinks he'll come good eventually. Also I doubt Tottenham would sell to a direct rival anymore.Dark Machine said:Seriously, he's like Milan Baros, or that other Mexican Barrera at West Ham. Great for your country, crap for your club. Opposite of our English players
Edit: At 22 I'd be happy if Liverpool did some sort of £5m + a player deal (Joe Cole?) for him. He's got some time and he must recognise he can't command high wages yet.

I'm Irish so I know all about players disappointing in the league and being fantastic for their country.Robbie Keane![]()

I think Chicharito is aware of his liabilities and is trying to become more than a goal poacher.

A true classic don't you think? When you play your long time rival everything goes, the heart reigns over the mind many times and that's what makes these games great.rodvik said:USA-Mexico game was great.
Coming from 2-0 to a 4-2 is impressive. Mexico looks like a good young side that is going to get better with time.
Have to say tactically both sides were pretty dismal though with the USA just losing shape constantly and Mexico finding themselves out of position regularly. Happily it made for a wide open game.

Dat wage bill!TRANSFER GOSSIP
Gareth Bale will demand to leave Tottenham if the club sells Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who is wanted by Chelsea.
But Spurs are prepared to make Modric the highest-paid player in their history if he agrees to stay at White Hart Lane - the 25-year-old could earn as much as £90,000-a-week.
Manchester City are set to bid £38m for Udinese's Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez in the hope that it will persuade him to sign for them instead of Barcelona.
Celtic left-back Emilio Izaguirre, 26, claims he is being targeted by Manchester United.
Aston Villa are plotting a £14m raid on Manchester City for their former midfielder James Milner.
Toulouse's Moussa Sissoko is in negotiations with Liverpool and Newcastle over a potential transfer, while Inter and Lyon are also interested.
Manchester United have joined Manchester City and Real Madrid in the £25m race for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-Sung is wanted by Italian giants Juventus.
Aston Villa's Stewart Downing, 26, must hand in a transfer request in order to secure an £18m switch to Liverpool.
Newcastle are attempting to hijack Darron Gibson's proposed £5m move from Manchester United to Sunderland.
Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren is set to make £2m Blackburn midfielder and out-of-contract former Reds winger Andy Reid his first signings at the City Ground.
OTHER GOSSIP
Arsenal are set to hand 19-year-old midfielder Jack Wilshere a new long-term contract.
Manchester City face the prospect of a £30m wage bill next season for the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Craig Bellamy, Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jo and Nedum Onuoha - who they do not want but cannot get rid of.

If he can do that on a regular basis he could feature heavily for Spurs next season.

Also, has anybody in SoCal area experience numerous fireworks going off and tons of partying?? My hood is lit up since 8pm.
Ushojax said:He had his chances at the start of the season and he was absolute shit. His attitude is atrocious, he's late to training, often hungover and apparently got into a drink driving scrape that meant Carlos Vela had to pick him up from the police station. His parents had to come over to apologise to Redknapp for his behaviour. A good talent but nothing more, we'll be well rid of him.

Do what I do in FM2011 - continue to send them out on loans, don't renew their contracts and then release them.Kermit The Dog said:So what do you guys think City should do with its flabby roster?
Sucks that our over-payment of players has come to bite us in the arse, but I guess that's something we'll have to learn from in future. The club seems to have smelled the roses with Tevez and will allow him to leave on a free transfer in two seasons. IF he stays, mind you.
I wouldn't be surprised if he left he almost did was it last season or the season before? This is probably the last year we can get a high fee for him so whilst I'd like him to stay if we can get a good price for him we can sign a decent replacement and AVB can begin his rebuild that way.Splatt said:Any truth to the rumour that A. Cole is going to Real Madrid?

A few of those players are good - very good but overpaid at City and maybe unwilling to move. I'd take a couple at Rovers but only if their wages were somehow lowered or subsidised.
Rovers have been linked to some real players in the papers today but will take it all with a pinch of salt.
Kermit The Dog said:Sensible people aren't allowed a poor tactical decision at times? Our flabby roster is a 'good problem'. It's a problem nonetheless, but it's hardly indicative of horrible Venky-style mismanagement. ; )
Like I said, we'll learn from it. The days of paying players 200 grand + a week are probably over, and I think we'll be alot smarter in the manner with which players are acquired and paid.
Moobabe said:I'm not sure those days are over - wouldn't everyone City are being linked with demand that kind of money? And I'm not sure having Jo watching your games from his home while on huge money is a 'good problem'![]()

K1LLER7 said:I feel thats the main reason players may choose city over others like chelsea or united, because they offer higher wages. if they didn't, i don't think they'd be signing with city because other clubs can offer what they do.
Kermit The Dog said:Oh, without doubt. I'm simply saying that City will be alot more intelligent about their signings in future since we'll have learnt from our mistakes, and the need to slip within the UCL guidelines.
iirc Johnson was so cheap because his contract had 6 months left to go on his contract and would have been a free transfer in the summer of that year. City did well to get in there quickly tbh so props, but nobody else was gonna put down 6m for somebody who'd have been free in a few months time..Kermit The Dog said:Johnson (WE GOT HIM FOR 6 MILLION!)
Kermit The Dog said:We've made some fantastic signings really. de Jong, Kompany, Johnson (WE GOT HIM FOR 6 MILLION!) Zabaleta, Barry, Milner, Toure, Tevez, and Viera.
Can't see it, as it goes we have no right side, so it wouldn't make a great deal of sense for us to get rid what left side we have.Splatt said:Any truth to the rumour that A. Cole is going to Real Madrid?

You did NOT pay £6m for Johnson. We had a bid that was higher than that accepted which City came and blew out of the water.
Source: his fucking Dad who was advising him at the time, though I think he was a 'proper' agent now.
Not sure i'd class Milner as a fantastic signing, good player but not worth anywhere near what you paid. Would also put Lescott in the not so great signings.
I'm shocked that city haven't signed anyone yet, what areas do you think they need to improve on? Not a fan of city but watching them, they proly need another creative player. Silva was great last season
I still think City were stupid for selling Richard Dunne.Hes definitely better than Lescott who they bought for 24 MILLION.Kermit The Dog said:Another winger, a creative midfielder and a proper centre-back. I'm pretty sure the club is making those three positions its priority in the next two transfer markets.
