So Adam was less than £7m apparently.

Good signing. As ever it'll be interesting to see how a player like Adam does, as someone who excelled in a newly promoted but struggling side and is now being asked to step up to a club like Liverpool.

At £7m I think he's got plenty about to him to be a decent signing. He's a player who can make things happen, I think.

United being linked with a move for schweinsteiger (can't spell lol). 25 Mil + Berba. Can't see him moving from bayern but would take him over Nasri and modric. my 2nd favourite german player after ozil. damn all these rumors :(

I am a pretty big fan of kits that look like football jerseys, not ones that look like tshirts *coughBARCA2012AWAYBLACKPIECEOFUNADULTRATEDSHITEcough*

First time in years i've hated any barca kit. This season both home and away are top class abortions. They might be a bit better without the Qatar Foundation stuff, but even unicef cant fix bad design (home) and lazy design (away).

It really sucks that I feel like we could be good friends if you weren't such a giant Barca fan.

Hmm $45 for a v. Persie away kit...may have to bite.

Kitbag always has some of the best prices, especially if you live in the states because of the terrible exchange rate. Only thing that sucks is that shipping usually takes a week and a half because of customs. Beats soccer.com and worldsoccershop.com though.....no one should ever have to pay their retarded prices!

Wes Brown having a medical, O'Shea up here tomorrow. Great signings imo, our defence is in desperate need of some calmness and experience.

Think they could be good signings for you guys. Decent players with loads of experience and a winning mentality. Could be good leaders for Sunderland too. Can see them perhaps having a similar impact as P.Nev did at Everton.

Sad to see them go.

I just hope you guys aren't going to get any Silvestre like experiences. Man was he terrible.

Jeez, SSN have stalked Modric from
Zagreb to White Hart Lane just to give us the "breaking news" that Modric is having a meeting with Daniel Levy.

Haha oh wow. Some lad on RTG said his grandad was talking to someone on his allotment and apparently our CEO was getting the sack and Quinny was leaving. Laughed off.

An hour or two later, BBC confirm that Walton (CEO) is leaving.

Oh FUCKING oh.

So Adam was less than £7m apparently. Probably a fair price considering. Also looking like Doni is gonna be our backup GK on a free.

Good deal. He is an old school player (ie: doesnt really give a shit about fitness) but has some great skills. It will be interesteing to see how he fits into your lineup.

Fergie said something when he played United this season that his free kicks were worth about 5m, so a little under 7 seems about right.

Speaking of kits: I'll never forgive myself for not buying one of the adidas original reissues. Esp. the 1986 Liverpool jersey. I also saw the 1990 Milan kit and 1984 France shirt ages ago but never bought. Now they can't be found.

You know there seems to be all this talk about Arsenal losing the likes of Fabregas and Nasri, but there haven't been very many replacements talked about. I was wondering what people here thought. I know the likes of Downing and Mata have been talked about, as well as the far off hopes of Hazard, but what about if they both leave. Obviously if Cesc is gone and Nasri stays, Nasri would assumingly move to the center. But what about both? Who could we bring in that could play right away?

I have always liked Honda, and I know Wenger has too. He is left footed and can also play on the outside, but there is a big stink between him and his coach right now because he doesn't like to play on the left (sound familiar Arshavin?). It's also rumored that CSKA have put a 25 million price tag on him. Part of me thinks that if Cesc does indeed leave, our formation will change. Part of the reason we play the 4-2-3-1 right now is because of the way our midfield works. But without Cesc, it doesn't seem that this is necessary anymore. Perhaps Ramsey is seen as the replacement, and while I believe he is good enough to start, he's not good enough to completely replace Cesc. I am just not so sure. It seems as though the central play-maker is the holy grail this summer, with Man U, Chelsea and now Man City all on the lookout for one. What does everyone else think? Who are the players to look out for this summer?

I think he was just stirring with that. Said his corners were worth £10m.

here you go, have a look, sure they are pricey but they are still available

That's the one. But Mr. Messi, that is £140. I hope you, being the collector you are, don't spend that amount of money on a football shirt.
The ones I was looking at were £40, had XXL and were new (I'd be wary about buying a 25 year old shirt!).
But they're out of print now.

Nah, I don't spend that kind of money on one kit. Maybe on some of the retro barca kits in a few years but not now. I spend low and often.

Well you have to think that all of these are original jerseys. These are from the time and are being sold by people who own them. You would have to think that a jersey from the mid 80's would be very hard to come by at this point.

I think it's been said Downing had a better season than Young last year out. I hardly ever watch Villa so I can believe it.

I reckon Young is a better player all around though. Of course there will be club bias in this view, but I'm not a great fan of Young's anyway, not yet at least.

Anyway sure this debate will occur more and more and the season goes on.

If you care, as a semi neutral observer and Villa fan you have this kinda right.

Downing had the better season but Young is regarded as being the bigger talent.

In other words Downing hit 7/7 of his best rating and Young hit 6/8 of his.

The bigger mystery which you should all consider is how this squad with the players so much in demand managed to have such a completely shitty season. Either its the manager, every other player in the squad being shitty or these pair had something to do with it.... I go for the last option. Young is incredibly selfish and is a diver/gets knocked off the ball too easily. Downing is utterly shit at tackling and possession.

Villa has too many players who just love to run at defences solo and bugger the build up, these pair are two of them.

Its why it wont be the end of the world if they both leave (although I doubt Downing is going anywhere unless LPool pay up a decent price).

What Villa needs is a cunning mastermind spinning a web of intrigue from midfield. Someone like Gordan Cowans.

Yeah. The kits I'm on about were new, as in, made around 2007. I found one a while back but it was size small and X small. I'm 6 foot 8

Juve - Inter is way more entertaining than Madrid - Barca imo.

After this past year (except the 5-0) i'd agree, the rest of the games were a shocking bore to watch.

Yeah you're cool Messi, because I know you bought their shirt for Eto'o's sake only.

I know this game is pretty much a menu based game, but how does it run on Macs? My computer is absolutely terrible when it comes to running games. I can't even run the original Portal or Half-Life 2.

The fuck?! Pirlo's in Juve? Oh my God! What the hell is happening, I missed something big.
Oh, btw, that sponsor logo looks horrible. Doesn't belong there, especially the GK kit. Juve's home kit is class though.

Levy and Modric meeting is over - Modric will not be sold. This should be the end of speculation on Modric's future at least for this summer.

:)

Like Levy said, once he gets back to training and sees Corluka and the rest of his chums I'm sure he'll get his head down and get on with it. If we don't make it back into the top 4, I would expect him to leave and I would begrudge him that if we fail again.
