Just noticed one of my strikers, Nicola Ferrari, has a ban till june 2015.

Why didn't I notice this before the transfermarket closed...

In the meantime 9 games are played in the Serie B, and I'm in 5th place, trailing leading club Ternana by 4 points.

And I have the feeling that the board of Verona is very strict, a bad run might be a fast sack.

[Mads Jorgensen] Best player in all of the CM series.

Yep, it's a toss up between Mads, Andri Sigþórsson and Kennedy Bakircioglü for me, I think. Each absolutely dominated for me in all manner of teams and leagues.

I think I'm digging the streamlined gameplay of FMC - I may stick with it for awhile.

Lots of memories here.

I remember in CM3 that the Dundee team was pretty much the best team in Scotland.

That and in CM99/00 Scandinavian regenerated players were generally the best in the world as long as you tolerated 5-10 ratings for Work Rate. I once had 7 Swedish internationals in my team and a couple of other Norwegians and Danes.

Kennedy Bakircioglü was awesome in one of the games. Anyone remember Tó Madeira? :lol

Edit: and Tonton Zola Moukoko \o/ these names are bringing the nostalgia.

The most godlike player I've ever encountered in a CM/FM game:

9FL9s.jpg

Bought him at the end of a season, he broke his leg and missed the next season, then came back with a motherfucking vengeance.

Rudy Carlier is one of my favs from back in the day, a young French striker at AS Cannes.

And ofcourse, Javier Saviola before he was well-known IRL.

Has anyone else tried registering their retail codes yet? I just got my copy in the mail went to register it and Steam says I already own the game (I activated the beta when they sent out keys for pre-order). Did they mess up and I now have two copies?

EDIT: Also Maxim Tsigalko is clearly the best CM player ever.

The game gives Portugal a Youth Rating of 114, USA of 132 and Mexico of almost 150. What the fuck SI, America is not producing better quality players than Portugal, but these ratings assure they will in the game.

Can anyone actually tell the difference between FMC and normal FM? I'm playing it in the demo now and it just looks like it has a bigger UI and an instant match button.

FMC is vastly streamlined; no more press conferences or team talks, for example. Your staff, now very limited in numbers (one 'chief' scout only, for example), look after many of the extraneous details. Training, for example, can effectively be ignored. There's no mentoring function available, as a further example.

Management life in FMC, I've found, is largely restricted to transfers and match days - and the game tends to roll along at a rollicking pace as a result.

The 'back room' side of things is, in effect, largely automated and attended to by your assistant manager, aforementioned chief scout, and if present, the omnipresent Director of Football.

At this stage, I'd personally prefer a middle-ground between FMC and the full, fat experience, and preferably, more choice as to what is 'streamlined', and what is not. As a first iteration, though, FMC is promising for those of us who are more time-limited.

Game isn't updating or downloading the editor. Annoyed.

I had to restart Steam, for what it's worth (but you may have tried that already, obviously).

From whom did you purchase the game - Steam directly, or via another on-line retailer? I purchased through GMG, and other than the Steam restart, didn't have to do anything further to move from beta to final release.

Have you read this? Might be the issue.

I pre-ordered through Steam. Keeps throwing up errors. I've restarted Steam several times and have attempted to begin the update process manually as well as letting it try and do it automatically. Editor is throwing up the same issues.

Dag dammit!

I read that the editor is under ''tools'' in Steam, did you try that?

And if your beta is not updating to the full game, SI says you should empty your cache:

Beta version will not update to Full Version
If you're certain you've got the correct code (and if you've got a boxed version you've entered the code off the back of the manual) and your game hasn't updated, please try restarting Steam.

If that still doesn't work, please try the following:

•Completely exit from the Steam client.
•Go to C:\Program Files\Steam (or the Steam directory that was specified during installation).
•Locate ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob.
•Restart Steam to allow the file to be recreated.
•Launch game

And third post in a row (because they are unrelated to each other and I wasnt thinking of it earlier!)

Anyone here who has a team in either npower 2 or Blue bet premier and would like to try the 5 match vs mode? I just promoted to npower 2, so Blue bet premier should be still somewhat my level.

San Marino win their first ever international match in a World Cup qualifier against Greece in 2021. 1 shot, 1 on target and 1 goal gives them a 1-0 win, Greece had 13 shots on target but couldn't equalise :D

A quick heads up incase people run into online troubles, apparently everyone has to have their Steam download region be the same for things to go smoothly which is pretty weird.

Nice!

If you look at the official forums though, it’s the worst FM ever! :D

But then again, a lot of people on the official forums say this each year around release….

Yeah, I guess this is just a matter of people needing to get used to new stuff. I mean, even if you dont like it all that much yourself, the inclusion of FMC is a rather big deal. Not to mention the countless tweaks that I really enjoy after I got over my initial "getting to know" period where I was a bit annoyed that the layout for a few things is quite different than in FM12.
The game definitely deserves the praise it gets.

From what I've played so far, definitely.

On those forums someone posted a weird goal, first reaction was :

Man I was so looking forward to start a big career game tonight, but after seeing this kind of bugs I won't...

Dramaqueen much ?

Crap, I'm always tempted to get these games but I ended up getting bored really quickly. Must resist this time!

Haven't played one properly since Premier Manager 3!!

Haha, even if these kind of goals happen, those are hardly game breaking as they happen both to the opposition and yourself. I was a bit weirded out at first when I saw those goals at first too, now I just imagine a player unlocking either Supersaiyan mode or having a really, really bad day. :p

By no means game breaking though, doesnt even happen that often.

Wow, released in 1994? About time to dive in! The manager games got way more complex compared to back then, but thankfully they included a classic mode this year that simplifies some aspects. Really great game, you should succumb to the FM itch if you want to play it atall :)

I've dabbled with the recent ones, I think 2010 was the last one I tried. But have never gotten hooked like I did with Premier Manager 3. I mean I didn't even have the full version of PM3 but I must have put over 100 hours into the shareware copy lol

edit: Will keep an eye out for a demo or a friend who will let me borrow.

Demo is available through Steam, you can play half a season both in normal and classic mode.

oh sweet my save from the beta continues to work in the retail version it seems!

I've given up on RVP in FM. He's always injured and never scores.

Gonna sell him in January and maybe Isco too. Neither have played well for me over the course of 14 in game months.

put rvp on the wing and hernandez as poacher up top

Yep, they officially announced before the Beta that you'll be able to carry over the savegame. No way I'd have already put 100 hours in my savegame otherwise.

Toma

I really would like to play without reloading, but long term injuries are such a bullshit. Every few games you have a player that is gone for 5-6 months. I wish I could limit the highest injury length to 1 month or something, otherwise I am forced to reload all the time, compared to having half of my first team being on long term injuries.

Thanks for the advice, but I've already sold RVP and Hernandez. Got £30m for Hernandez and £25m for RVP.

I now have a strikeforce of Rooney/Welbeck/Henriquez/Jovetic

Woah. My team isnt all that good... or so I thought. Npower2 first year, 2nd now after 6 games. I lost my first two matches but then only wins. Seems like my players are getting used to the 4231 system.

Just said it, and now I lost my next game of course. Meh.

I'm getting pretty disenfranchised by the transfer system. It's just plain impossible to sell regardless of how well your players are doing. My DOF sucks ass apparently because he somehow simply cannot unload them either. So I have these guys who want significant pay increases but I simply cannot afford them, yet I can't sell them either. It's driving me fucking batty -- buying/selling is my favorite part of FM and I can't buy now because I can't sell.

p.s. I highly recommend Alex Sandro.. he has been an absolute assist machine for me. In 2014-2015, he has 2 goals and 11 assists in 30 matches and has been the MOTM 6 times.
