Sell Gomez, if not at least follow the Germany friendlies closely up until the Euros. His starting spot is in no way guaranteed. I would say there is 40% chance Klose starts as CF ( 35% Gomez, 15% Podolski, 10% Reuß)

De Jong is unlikely to get points as well so I'd sell him.

Paul, Sid Lowe's very good for Spanish football as well as comment on other leagues as well.

Wooh, Copenhagen are looking for a new manager. Sadly our current one will still keep his job as a director of sport despite showing complete incompetence as that too this season. We need a new Norwegian, now we finally know why he rejected Villa, THE GREAT OLE WAS WAITING FOR COPENHAGEN

"I'm Norwegian, so if we lose no matter what I get the blame, no matter how i play, even if we had won 6 matches in a row I would have been slaughtered by the danish medias. But now we threw it all away and the medias got it as they wanted." - Grindheim.

Jesus fucking Christ, please fuck off. Sick of this cunt. If anything you have gotten too little shit in the medias. But hey, guess you can just keep on blaming it on what country you are from, the Danish medias and fans sure hated Ståle Solbakken and Hangeland here... Oh wait, no they loved them because they delivered and didn't run around like headless double chinned chickens.

They're probably just speculating based on the news that FSG will be in Liverpool next week. Although it's probably pretty likely that Martinez would be talked to there. Still holding out a bit of hope that Rafa gets a call when they're over here too.

"Holland is one of the countries in the world where there is the highest number of black players and at no point was there an issue. Well, these are the things about football. It seems to me that they had to get rid of a Liverpool player and, well, they definitely were gratified by all of this."

It's a conspiracy. Lets all listen to some wu tang shame on a negrito in honour of the case being re opened, finally got something to talk about other than Hazard!

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan tells BBC Roberto Martinez has been offered Liverpool job but reckons he won't take it unless in full control.

It's still BS.

How hard can it be to corroborate something like that? It's not like he has the secret service escorting him. I call BS too. Van Persie makes no sense for us anyway. Too old, injury prone, new to Serie A, huge wage. Although in a way he seems to be a lot easier to approach than some of the other WC strikers on the move this summer.

What have you done...

Sorry to say but LFC has not been in touch with Rafa at all. I'm afraid they have a different idea.

:(

Oh and Dave Whelan can do one. He'll be confirming the new manager before Liverpool at this point.

Rafa was never a realistic option imo.

Too much baggage there.

Edit: McShane wasn't even in the Irish squad for the Euro's.

He was only on the 6 player standby list but he's gotten in due to injuries in the main team.

If he actually goes to the tournament I will cry.

Just had a go at the Euro Fantasy League, i think this squad should abuse the scoring system pretty good. Players arent set in stone (waiting of the final squads) but you should get the idea. :)

I present you team FuenfZuNull (aka who needs defense):

Disclaimer didnt look at possible injuries / suspensions.

What do you think?

Hold on now.

Rafa was a good manager but he certainly had his faults.

I'm not convinced that he would have turned things around at Liverpool.

How often is a coach coming back to a club successful? Especially after being fired previously? It's a rarity in any sport. It's a rarity in any profession.

Fans should take off their rose-colored (or red in this case) glasses and realize he isn't the right man for the job.

He certainly did have faults. I don't see how any sane person could think that he offers any advantage above Martinez though, certainly not to the extent that he's not even been considered for the job.

This is the expected starting 11 for Spain:

The thing about Llorente is that he scores more goals with his head than with his feet (10 headers and 7 foot goals this season in La Liga). So we will see what happens.

Like you yourself say, how often does it even happen? How can you possibly decide it is a bad strategy based on a tiny handful of examples. Not forgetting of course that it is a fallacy to use past data to predict future events, particularly for something like a football manager.

If FSG were actually great owners they wouldn't have worried about similarities to Kenny, they would have simply realised he was the best man for the job and hired him. Some might say that if Rafa failed and they were again forced to hire a new manager they would look like fools, but the fact is if they hire some mediocre manager and he fails they will still look like fools. The difference is, Rafa would have a much higher chance of success than many of the other names on the list.

That you can't see the advantages Martínez offers over Rafa is why it's good you aren't making the decisions.

Never, ever go for the pick that the fans campaign for. If you do, you're picking "their man" and they'll turn against you if things go wrong and you are deemed to be at fault.

Rafa Benitez may very well be manager at LFC again. He's still fairly young. But he shouldn't be the next manager having been fired two years ago.

Why are you do certain he's the best manager for the job? I don't think he is. I think he was before, but in its current state, there are better options.
