Smalling is a better defender than Jones, absolutely. But even still, I think Jones is a much better defender than Evans. Smalling and Jones, when they have good games, can potential be match savers/winners. A good game for Evans is one where he doesn't make a stupid error that leads to a goal
Ashes has it straight. Easier to notice Evans' mistakes, because of his playing style, as with Rio and Carrick.
Jones can make a real pretty tackle though. Oh, that was some sweet early season hype.

I've been thinking about Liverpool. The current squad and the type of players we need. The current squad, without any new transfers, could probably in 5th to 7th position. If Aquaman decides to stay, that's a nice boost to the squad. But we need at least 3 quality sigings. I'd like to see two new wingers and a new striker. Maybe another back up left back and a midfielder that can play CM and in an attacking role. Even then, I think we could at best fight for 4th place. The clubs that finished ahead of us in the table have already signed/or are about to sign some very interesting players. If we can't find players like that, we'll have a tough time next season. I'll be happy if we are in the CL in 2013/2014, but I'm keeping my expectations in check.

In terms of pure talent, Jones has about as much defending talent as Rooney has in the SS role.
That's why all those Gary Neville types are licking their lips. I'm not sure whether we will see the fruits of that labour, as Smalling appears to have a knack for the job, where Jones doesn't, so we'll see.
Maybe Fergie has something up his sleeve. Wish Jones could pass better.

I'm still haunted by a few of Jones's showings at centre back last season. I'm not quite a believer yet.

We can't just 'sell him'. A foreign club that Modric wants to play for has to offer the equivalent of £40m. If not he stays and eats another year of his contract like last season.

Liverpool was among the teams who played the FEWEST long passes last season, and among the most for passes in the final third. But somehow people just stuck to their preconceived ideas. It's fine though, I'm sure people will be talking about playing "tiki-taka" this year, even though I think it'll take at least a full season for Rodgers to implement his philosophy in full.
Still lots missing - the England players (Carroll, Kelly, Gerrard, Johnson, Downing, Henderson), and the others on international duty (Agger, Suarez, Coates, Suso, Coady, Robinson)
But the most important thing for me, is that Lucas is back <3 <3 <3 <3

Most of those were Downing passing it backwards, though.
They are good but a huge time-sink. Persona 3 and 4 are great if you're into ATLUS-type RPGs.
Others love P3 and P4 but personally I think they're high school dating sims with JRPG combat thrown in.
Could be something wrong with me though. I'll give the series another chance at some point. Probably with the Atlus sale on PSN right now.
edit: Debuchy is expected to tell Lille that he wants to join Newcastle this week. If all goes well, it'll be our first major signing of the summer. Hopefully not the last!

The Giant Bomb endurance run of persona 4 is hilarious
Only played Persona 4, but it has a fantastic battle system. Can't wait to galactic punt people in Persona 4 Arena.
I'm playing through the Vita P4 in Japanese right now and it's fucking great. If you like Japanese games, then you'll like it. Although it is a little too easy. P3 is a decent challenge. Real Shin Megami Tensei games are legitimately hard.

Someone else's library selection; I grabbed it in a weak moment. I did go and hear Rankin speak a few months back, though, and he's a fine chap.

That 30m tweet seems way off. And the club already decided to sell him this summer because he doesn't want to stay. We wouldn't be selling our best player otherwise.
