We have a lot of mediocrity in our squad, but I think it's unlikely we're going to be gutting our squad and making wholesale changes like some of the press are suggesting.

The biggest mistake Rodgers could make is changing 6 or 7 first teamers. Players like Agger, Skrtel, Lucas etc might not be anything special but changing too many at once is asking for trouble. Just look at us this season. We lost our less talented (but more experienced) players like Huddlestone, Gallas, Dempsey, Parker, Assou-Ekotto, Defoe and our bottle went with them.

I don't think he sticks out like a sore thumb at all. His only negatives are his reluctance to shoot and his weak ankle which is just an ongoing problem. He often plays with injury because of it.
