Van Gaal clearly rates Depay highly, which is reassuring. I think we'll see a tactical switch to a 4-3-3, which will let Depay inject some much needed pace into our attack. Hopefully he'll adapt well to the Premiership, with all the defenders trying to kick him out the game.

I'm worried for West Ham, teams usually go to pot after Big Sam leaves - just look at what happened to Newcastle (as well as Bolton & Blackburn)! You guys have some good players though, so it'll be interesting to see where this all goes.

Well Jenkinson and Song won't be there next season. Carroll and Nolan probably won't fit a non-big Sam side. That is four players we'll have to factor out. I'd imagine Cresswell will be on a few wishlists given that he's a good young English defender.

We need to buy a striker who doesn't spend half the season on the medics table. We've had awful luck with that.

Whoever comes in will need to build from the back.

Whenever I've seen West Ham on the telly, I thought your defense was decent but I guess it's different when you see them every week. I do think Cresswell will go somewhere within the next few transfer windows, probably still too young and raw for Chelsea (I'd have him at Newcastle but then there's not many players I wouldn't have at this point).

Our defense is pretty solid but that is all they are. There isn't a lot of fluidity between the defense and the midfield. It is like they are only doing their own jobs and nothing else. Very disjointed. It is all very well and good having a strong defense but if they don't have an attacking mindset too they can be pretty useless.

Adrian is solid. Cresswell is good (we need more players like him who has an eye for a cross or a killer ball). Reid is a solid defender but that is it. The rest are just unimaginative stick my face in front of the ball defenders.

Boro shitting out I see. No real surprise.

I'm still unconvinced by Alex Neil. People making out he's some kind of mastermind but the fact is he took over a squad of players that really should have gained automatic promotion. Neil Adams just happened to be an incompetent fool, that's why they were struggling to begin with. It will be very interesting to see how he copes in the Premier League next season. He worked wonders for Hamilton though, so who knows?

I'm shaking my head at the kick-off time for the PL qualification game. Came home and it's over. Don't know wtf they were thinking.

Wonder what Chelsea will do with Bamford now. Maybe loan him to one of the sides that came up...?

Southampton were supposedly interested in loaning him for next season, so could go there.

I'd love to see him and Solanke be the back-ups to Costa and Remy (if Remy isn't sold) but its unlikely and not good for his development

Bamford will get found out in the Premier League. He's a lazy sod.

Can't believe he was voted Championship Player of the Year. And he didn't even make it into the Team of the Season. Absolute joke.

Sooo uncle Floren is firing Carletto in an hour. Gotta love the guy, he has no clue and still rules the club like his own company.

Fuck Florentino, I'm gonna lose it if the replacement ends up being Rafa Benitez.

Whoever grabs Ancelotti now is very lucky and will thank Flo for being an idiot.

I like the BMG team as well, I just hate the club for obvious reasons. The shit going on at matches (fireworks on the stands etc.) is just too much. I mean we are rivals, but do we have to kill each other for this bullshit? I like to annoy their fans
(my best friend happens to be BMG fan as well)
, however it is just giggles. After all we all like football, don't we?
So you're a Kölner ? Nice to have some of your folks in here. I love Cologne.
:):)

Welcome back Footygaf! What are the United fans expecting from Depay?
I can very honestly say in the name of everyone in here that the answer is :"not much."
And while we're talking about the Kölner, no of them is as much of a sweet cunt as you Bla :D

Carlo's said that he's going to get surgery for cervical stenosis and take the season off to recover. He was the best manager for the locker room that Madrid could get but did run the team into the ground.

Klopp@Liverpool would be awesome, but can you imagine his high pressing style of play employed at Real Madrid? My god, that would be a monster.

My god. Ancelotti for Benítez? I would never make such move... I just don't think he has the quality. Don't ask me why. Mostly because of his results and general opinion here. But it's just my inner sense that thinks he won't be able to handle things.

BINGO

Oh, and you are yet to notice my profile pic ^^
It's also the very first thing I mentioned in here.
Oh great !
I haven't been to Cologne in a year or so. It would be awesome to wander the streets again. And I really want to see the FC Köln succeed again.

Back then, when they had Littbarski, Kohler and Schumacher, they one of the geilest teams in the BL. I wish they had recovered completely from Illgner's departure.

Sadly I haven't seen any of them play. Bodo left the year before I was born xD

But success is the least of our problems right now. We need to stay in Bundesliga first and foremost, and not let the Fahrstuleffekt kick in again. But if it eventually does kick in, we can now officially claim that we only are a Karnevalsverein ^^

I'd put him on par with Ancelloti tbh. Klopp would be the real deal.

As much as people love Klopp (I do too) they need to understand one thing.
All those clubs, Real Madrid, Liverpool or even Manchester City work severly different regarding the most important factor to his success.

Time and patience.

All these clubs are too big to have any of those two.
Klopp had the time to build a team, with young hungry players and added a sprinkle of transfer magic to them (Kagawa 250K, Lewandowski 5M, Gündogan 5.5M).
Replicating that transfer magic is near impossible. Ginter, Hendrik Targaryan, Immobilie, Ramos and Moyes-damaged Kagawa turned all out to be stinkers worth over 50M.
Not to mention that he ended is first campaign not qualifying for Europe. The first Euroleague and Champions League campaigns were utter embarassments.
The 2nd one though brought him inches away from a dramatic upset against Bayern.

It's hard to imagine any of these clubs having the patience to wait that long.

Can you imagine Klopp at Southampton.
