Yep, Klopp is the Chosen One. He will lead us to the promised land.

But seriously.

Change is good for us. I'm also an ignorant fucker. But I talked a lil to Jack_cw and yeah... we need to progress.

Gimme dat Vidal x Thiago
x broken knees
future

I haven't changed. Bayern has changed.
To the better. I know its hard to accept a change in habits but its business and its necessary. Schweini had to play in front of alonso, Bayern wouldnt offer him 12 million anymore. So he did the best and signed a deal that also gave him a proper role.

I understand we lost 2 german midfielders in the last two periods and its hard to deal with on an emotional level, but we lacked pace and determination, that is why we lost pretty badly to teams like Real and Barcelona.

This is what the club tries to change and we as supporters should at least trust in them. Bayern saw what was wrong last season, learned and react now. Vidal is no replacement for Schweinsteiger, but the player we need to switch faster from defence to attack.
So let me remind you that change will not be easy. Change will take time. There will be setbacks and false starts and sometimes we'll make mistakes.

Don't tell me we can't change.
Yes m8. We should remember what happened after 2001 when we missed the transition.

Vidal is only going to cause trouble. Remember when he was drunk and crashed his Ferrari in the distant past of last month?
So what?
We have tax evaders, smugglers, sex with underages, etc.
We are not some holy church for high horse morale prayers. We are a profit making sports club and people have faults but as long as they deliver on a sports level one rotten egg is acceptable. Vidal is worldclass and his abilities help us immediately.

Arsenal still needs a world class DM. Vidal would have been a great improvement, but as the cunt he is, he is better off joining Pep.

-------------------Cech
Bellerin - Merte - Kos - Gibbs/Monreal
----------Ramsey - New DM
-----Sanchez - Özil - Cazorla
------------------Giroud

Even though Coquelin did a good job we need to improve this position the most. Arteta and Flamini are old and do not have what it takes to compete for the title.
Afterwards we could talk about an upgrade to Giroud. Our Defense has been solid for the last years and will be even better with Cech behind them and the quality of our attacking midfield should be undoubted.

Well, I made my first run for this season's Fantasy Football Farce.

Saints have got Clasie for £8.4M or thereabouts. What a steal!

He was always injured for me on Football Manager, so forever his reputation will be tarnished.

I doubt Bony will start that regularly for City. I'd replace him with someone who's going to play every game personally.

Need to set mine up at some point.

Yeah, I wasn't sure about Bony, but then... Aguererrerererooooooooooooooooooooooo! gets injured a fair bit. I could probably swap a few million around and get ROOOOOOOOOOOONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! up front instead.

Arsenal are going to do terrible this season if Wenger does not sign any offensive players. We could also use a defensive midfielder and a centre back.

Man Utd have improved significantly but it pains me to see Wenger not doing anything in the transfer market. He even suggested Wilshere is a perfectly valid wide option

:maximum facepalm:

The obsession of playing players out of position continues. G zuz.

Vidal is only going to cause trouble. My problem is not transition, my problem is Vidal.

I am with you there.

He is never going to get along with Pep. He is another Mandzukic, Ibra, etc.

Also, in this particular case, a player I never wanted to see at Bayern.

I'd rather lose the semi-final again with Kimmich,Hojbjerg.

Now Juve is interested in Draxler. Gotta say, I'd rather have Draxler.

But I guess they are going all-in for Pep to win the CL this year. I just hope he leaves after this season, as a winner or as a failure.

Also, I can't believe the news brought fuenf out of retirement. Hi fuenf, hope you are well.

So what?

You are not wrong. Vidal will probably help us immensly, but that doesn't mean I have to like him. I mean I don't even like Ribery. (Basically this would be like buying Pepe. I've despised him for so long, I don't want to see him in a Bayern shirt)

I just also feel that Bayern is losing its identity. The CL win meant more because Alaba, Müller, Lahm, Schweini were essential players in it. I don't want to win it the Real way.

Oh calm down would you.

The only position I'd have down as urgent at the moment is defensive midfield in case coquelin gets injured (god help us if we have to play Flamini/Arteta).

A striker better than Giroud would also be nice, but not urgent as Theo and Welbeck can play there - if Cavani/benzema/ibrahimovic are available then we should move for them. But we are not desperate so we don't need to spend a ton of money on someone like Benteke/lacazette. Neither of those fit our system/style of play, nor are they an immediate upgrade on Giroud.

At centre back we are well stocked with Mertesaker, Koscielney, Gabriel and Chambers so don't see a need there.

It's as if the last 6 month of last season never happened with the way some of our fan base are going on at the moment. We can't sign everyone just because they happen to be available or are moving to rival clubs. We need the right personnel who fit our system and don't upset the balance in our current squad.

The most important thing moving into next season is having everyone fit and keeping them fit. Chelsea proved last year that you don't need a huge squad to win the league, you just need a cohesive 1st team and to keep them fit throughout the season in order to be consistent.

You get to keep an unhappy/unmotivated player that wants to be somewhere else and then get nothing in return a year after that ordeal.

And a player of that caliber going to a CL rival for free to me is worse than "being taken for mugs".

I think what Woodward has shown with the negotiations with Real is that we won't roll over for them and let them take our best player again for less than a world record fee. De Gea will be motivated because he wants to play in the Euros, even if he is the best Spanish keeper by default really.

A year with De Gea potentially winning us the league/FA Cup (and a good shot at the CL) is better than a year without him.

Victor Valdes deserves to be a first team keeper. He won't get it from United after this fight. Come back to Spain.

Christian Benteke looks set to leave Aston Villa with Liverpool ready to meet the forward's £32.5m exit clause.

A few papers saying we want Axel Witsel and Roman will do the negotiating himself (like he did for Willian/Eto'o)

Also, Filipe Luis back to Atletico next week it seems

The S*n were saying United were buying him according to the BBC's gossip column. Can't believe we're fighting with United for Benteke.

Ha, that was a brief holiday.

You forgot Rode?

Does Bayern-GAF know anything about Rico Strieder?

Came from the Bayern reserves to Utrecht...

Well he was allowed to play one match for Pep. Which means he might have seen something in him. If he does have potential, him and Janssen could be a really could duo in the midfield.

Sports Witness posted a tweet that HLN say the claims of United wanting Benteke came from Aston Villa sources and could just be trying to pressure Liverpool.

Who knows. It is a lot of money for Beneteke but if he can handle the jump to a big club he could bang in 15-20 goals for either club.

Ok, I see your point but do you seriously think Thiago, Lewandowski, Alaba or Müller would stay if we are knocked out in group stage of CL? Vidal plays a position only Thiago and Lahm are playing. Gaudino is years away and Hojbjerg has only Kimmich and Alonso to battle for the 6. Bayern and Pep want to win the CL again with this generation of players at any cost and if you look at our 14 starters, its possibly the strongest squad Bayern ever had, maybe the best European one for decades.

And why do we lose identity? We bought a worldclass player that Real would buy for at least 60 million for 35 million. We kept our wages low. Sold a club legend without leaving bad blood. Bayern does what they always did: Building a squad that is highly competitive in all tournaments without the insane money that others invest.

The lack of talented youngsters is because the volume 95-2000 was pretty average. Happens sometimes.

£32.5m for Benteke

what are you doing

Spending extra now to make sure that we don't have to panic-buy at the end of the window, or have to spend the season with a choice of Ings and Origi up front since an available Sturridge will be a bonus.

As with Sterling, the proof will be in the pudding. There's no reason that Benteke couldn't score 15+ league goals for us in which case he'd be worth it imo, and Sterling will be worth more than £50m in a couple of years if he develops properly.

Also have to consider that we're not just paying for a striker, we're paying for an improvement over a group of players who were frankly abysmal last year. Christ, he could score 5 league goals and that'd be a gargantuan improvement over what we had last year :p

On the face of it think £32.5m is probably overpriced by about £7.5m (a 1 in 2 record across 3 seasons is nothing to sniff at) and I'm happy enough paying over the odds for it, even if its a lot less safe than you'd hope for with that much money involved. Who are the safe strikers available to a team outside the CL though, with no guarantee that we'll be back in it any time soon?

Benteke. :/

I guess the belief is that Sturridge is too busted to ever complete a full season, and that Balotelli is beyond useless.

Which are both probably true.

I meant for the ST position. Pardon me but I find it a little hard to stomach that we have no other option but to spend 32.5 million on him. Wages is the be all & end all for us.

Guess its the last roll of the dice for Rodgers, hope for our sakes it works

this looks like a panic buy though. You're paying way over the odds because you can and because Man Utd are interested.

Rodgers was out today saying Liverpool can still attract big players and this feel like him buying that promise not proving it.

They seem to just buy names now instead of actually thinking about the team. I wonder how you go about choosing Lambert, Balotelli and Benteke to replace Suarez and Sterling. What's the thinking behind this?

Any truth in those Lewandowski rumours?

Can't see Bayern giving up their strongest and main striker (especially one who is easily world class and up there with Suarez) and after they said there would be no more transfers to United this window.

I think there's more chance of Cavani or Kane happening. As long as it's not Higuain. Lacazette is a bit of a risk.
