Vidal isn't "special" enough.

No other player is so let's just save our money for now, yes?

When I look at the current market on who is a "Special player" with chances of leaving im left with a list of players either heavily linked with other teams or players whose clubs have been adamant they are not leaving.

Unless we go ham and spend a rediculous amount on someone

We are getting Paul.

Paul is going to make Morgan look like the Championship player he is.

It's the only way to make the pain go away.

We've more than a month to bring in a DM.

Absolutely buzzing at the business we've done so far.

This does not slip.

Sounds like Wenger.

Christ, I can't wait for some Fat Sam tweets about the Corporal.

Remember those days of saying we needed super quality signings? While we were fielding teams like this:
Arsenal FC ‏@Arsenal 2 Mar 2011
Team to play Leyton Orient: Almunia, Eboue, Squillaci, Miquel, Gibbs, Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Henderson, Bendtner, Chamakh #Arsenal

The Dark ages.

If Pogba really is a target. I won't expect anything till late in the window. There will be a lot of groundwork to be done, but we can still afford a 50m pound signing. Might mean we force Vermaelen to stay though.

Hold me boys, its happening. We're gonna win the CL/PL/Cup/3rd place.

Pogba is achievable. If we don't try/get this window we'll probably never get him. The likes of Bayern, Madrid and Barcelona will take the driving seat for him by 2016. It's now or never Wenger please get us the best under 21 in the world.

So this maybe reaching, but heres where I honestly think we are now, I was skeptical about LvG waiting to see where he needs improvements but the more I listen to him, that interview specifically, I actually believe him. He talks about 4-3-3 and how that is also an option he is exploring in which case he needs to buy specialist players, but he keeps coming back to the feeling that he needs time, which he said from when he started was about a month. Now if we take this at face value, it could very well be possible that we simply dont have any irons in the fire at this point. This also means that when the time comes he will expect to get players in, in the short 2-3 week window before the deadline ends.

But who in there right midn would give Woodward 2-3 weeks to get deals over the line.

Think you're spot on about LVG and transfers, Mr Cola.

From that interview he still doesn't know what he needs, or more importantly, what system he will play.

Wouldn't expect signings anytime soon if I were a United fan.

This. He has two years on his deal left. Doesn't seem to be signing a new one. It's now or never. Juve won't do a Man Utd and let him leave on a free and the vultures will be swarming next season. This is the time to get maximum value. I'm going full muppet.

2-3 weeks is just so short a time, plus the bedding in process and all this jargon.

This first 6 months up to Christmas is going to be a real dice roll

We can afford Paul. Don't think that is an issue.

Convincing him to come and Juve to sell is the problem.

Will it happen? No fucking clue.

Is it fun to muppet over?

Sure is.

honestly, United don't need more players.

Fellaini is a much better player than he showed last season. we know this. limited, and doesn't really have a position, but he's still a decent player. Fellaini-Herrera-Mata is a good midfield 3 that's up there with any of the other top clubs in the league. Rooney and RVP are still very good. the defense is a question mark but defending wasn't really that much of a problem last season (didn't concede 5+ on a regular basis, for example). and you've got a talented young left back and maybe the best keeper in the league.

no Europe, a huge upgrade at manager. no reason why this squad can't mount a Liverpool-esque title challenge this season and make a quick bounce back to the top 4.

Yeah and he doesn't even have the full squad available yet with the Belgian boys still out.

It's better in the long run if you don't rush into guff signings for the sake of it.

Looks quite alright. Hopefully Walcott will last longer than in preceding season.

Happy that Jenk is not a sale but loan. Hopefully he'll get lots of first time football.

Literally all of Barcelona want to play for Arsenal, so I don't think you'll have a problem convincing our Paul, lads. Congrats on the signing.

Fellaini-Herrera-Mata offers next to no cover for a defence lacking experience, without depth, its not hyperbole to say that going back we are weak as fuck. Our front line I would agree is up there with the best, but if we lose every midfield battle again we are just going to sink like last year.
