Not been impressed by our games this pre-season. With Suarez gone, we really need someone from midfield to play higher up, behind the striker. Link-up play needs to be better.

These 3 will flop, hard.

Chygrinskiy style.

Hopefully we won't be using Lambert so much that if he flopped, it would have a massive effect on our season, ala Aspas. I can easily see Lallana proving to be second choice in about 3 positions, but not good enough to be first choice in any. And Shaw needs to sort himself out, this is a terrible way to start his relationship with a disciplinarian like Van Gaal

Remember when Dawson came on against us last year and the first thing he did was stumble over the ball because Suarez made him shit himself, and we scored? Good times.

Shaw will be fine because he is a young player, most of his attributes are physical and he is a hype machine.

Lambert can't flop. He cost 4m.

Lallana will flop.

If Lallana ends up second choice in his variety of positions then it'll mean Coutinho, Markovic and Henderson really stepped it up to overtake him, which would be no great loss. To use Aspas again, he flopped last season because Sturridge and Suarez forced him out. If Lallana flops it would be in the same way

Just got home, how are we playin - meh, why do I even bother.

At least Abbiati saved a pen for the first time in 15 or something years I guess.

The replay on the Allen goal shows that he doesn't really feel comfortable taking a shot with his left. He almost fell over himself having to shift to his right to shoot.

Southampton are planning a £70million spree over the coming days to replace their 'lost boys.'

And the Saints will keep tabs on some of the players Manchester United are prepared to let go as they reshape their squad.

The south coast club want United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernandez and either Wilfried Zaha or Ashley Young, depending on which winger Louis van Gaal is prepared to sell.

New Saints boss Ronald Koeman has also targeted Dutch duo Ron Vlaar of Aston Villa and Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk, while Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is another target.

---

Yes Young.

Come where you'll be loved son.

I don't see that. It is more of a betrayal for most Chelsea fans. He could have easily stayed at Chelsea till Jan then moved on, as he clearly knew what was going to happen before he signed for them.

Betrayal? Come on lol. The club wanted to move on as he was old as fuck and hardly contributed with anything for a season, he's a legend and can do whatever he wants to.

:lol it wasn't a dive

Young is reborn as a wing back. He rises from the ashes of Moyeezus.

Young? Not just anybody can score 2 goals vs the European Champions. You'll have to pay up bruv.

£70m + all of your betting monies.

Zaha? Take his for free.

Not IMO, but it's distasteful. He supposedly rejected a contract extension from us. Is he going to get more games at City than he would if he stayed with us?

I don't think so.

He's just there to keep up his fitness. That it's Man City is presumably because they own/have a stake in the New York City franchise. It's not a big deal.
