Geoff says we bid 30m for Cavani while he was at Napoli.

Yeah I know we did, which is why I think it's not out of the realm of possibility. Though, I kinda would think maybe Arsene would have sounded out PSG at some point already this summer over Cavani.

If Cavani moves for 30m pounds wow, PSG must be really desperate

Just watching the "Life of Ryan Giggs" that someone posted on Youtube.

Phil Neville really is the funniest guy ever.

He's always carrying around a bag of balls :lol.

Does no one like Lavezzi or something?

I love el Pocho dating back to his San Lorenzo days. He killed River Plate's title shot in our stadium with one of the more impressive individual showings I've seen. Great player, strong pace, and very good on the ball. I still can't believe Argentina subbed him out at half in the final. :/

Someone fill me in on what's going on with PSG, please. Why are they in a rush to unload players? Is the club in financial turmoil or something? I don't follow French football at all, but their roster looks pretty damn impressive.

Wouldn't read too much into the Cavani rumours until someone at least semi-reliable comes out with something.

There have been punished under FFP, but we have yet to see what they will do.

New Financial Fair Play rules from UEFA. They wanna make room for the 60m di Maria would cost them.

FFP sanctions.

Reading up on the FFP rules now. This is all news to me. I'm used to the Argentine Football Association, which is basically just a feeder league for larger European sides. The idea of spending yourself into sanctions isn't an issue down there.

This sounds more like a "soft" cap instead of a hard salary cap like most US sports leagues operate, where you have a set dollar amount to put a roster together and can't exceed that. I thought European leagues were completely against the idea of maintaining a spending cap on rosters, but this seems like a move in that general direction.

Just read his posts. Yeah the ban was deserved.

It's it about the gypsy thing? I don't think he say something terrible or anything worth a ban. He was talking about his own experience, and he even remarked that he met some gypsy who was a decent person.

I don't know why people should be offended when a generalization is totally understandable in this case. Anyone who met a group of gypsys in his life, knows what kind of people they are, sadly. It's not a matter of race, religion or anything is just the way they grow because that's everything they see from their parents and community in general. It's not like they're evil because they are gypsy, they become the way they are because of their life circumstances.

Can't say I've ever met a gypsy or that I know anything about the culture. I could see why a mod would ban him though. Generalizations like that, life experience or not are not typically allowed to fly on GAF.

Watching Jack Whitehall's 'Backchat' and he's interviewing Gary Lineker. Lineker said he pooped himself during a World Cup group stage match vs Ireland.

Despite Scholes's comments, senior figures at Old Trafford believe that he still has much to offer the club, either in a coaching capacity or off-field role.

And while a position in Van Gaal's first-team set-up is not on the agenda, efforts will be made to convince Scholes to return in some capacity because of the esteem in which he continues to be held at the club. Woodward, the target for much of Scholes's criticism, is believed to be open to him being offered a position at the club and keen to move on from the verbal condemnation delivered by a man who scored 155 goals in 718 appearances for United.

Phil Neville, who has yet to be offered a role at the club after losing his position as first-team coach following the dismissal of former manager David Moyes, is also set to be offered the opportunity to remain at Old Trafford in some capacity.

Hahaha

WJD asked for his ban. He'll be back before too long.

Is rvy gone gone?

I can still see why someone would ban from generarizing like that from personal experience.

Why did PSG even try to form such an all-star squad, it's like having fish in a barrel and then throwing a grenade at it, I'm sure their oil owners could burn money ala Scrooge McDuck instead.

Very good image of our first team squad. Forward line and DM are definitely weak CB too. If we can solve two out of those 3 this summer, I'll be happy.
