It's not as if Persona is a series that makes much use of hardware power. A handheld version would've been great.

It won't. It'll be the biggest Miyazaki game. Probably will have the highest PS4 attach rate outside of Destiny and launch titles.
Remote play? RPGs are perfect for that feature.

It's not as if I have anything against a PS4 version, but I would've preferred a Vita version over that one.
In order to ensure more sales in the west, a PS4 version is alot smarter.
