And once again we showed that our kids are all we need to win this League Cup stage group. 1-0 win against Boavista despite playing with 10 men for the last 30 min.
7th straight win, 6 straight clean sheet.

Just to chime in on the Mata discussion from a few pages back.

He's a MF by trade, but he needs to be considered as a SS when drawing up a formation. You just can't rely on him to track back and defend or hold up play against opposition nearly twice his size. He gets frustrated, loses interest and will disappear (ironically, very much like Schurrle).

He's also wasted out on either side as a winger. He needs space to be afforded the time to scan the entire field and make something happen.

After two and half seasons watching him play, that's his strong suite.

but can he pick a sidways pass to Valencia like Roo can? Didn't think so.

A lot of mistakes in this game.
Lawro complaining about Ipswich playing it back to the keeper, that was a big part of Gaal's visie in the past, though I don't know if it's evident in United's play (I've barely watched then this season)

Obviously I love Mata, I did when he was at Chelsea and was delighted when we signed him. However, was he what we needed? No. Similar to Kagawa, he's a good player but we need more defensive minded midfielders, ones who can tackle and get the attack going from deep. I think Mata would benefit if we had more pace in the side and we actually built it around him, but I doubt LVG rates him that highly to make him the focal point.

I just started to post more in the last 3,4 years. And the more you know about one person, the more you hate / love him.

I know many hate me. But everyone has their favourites in here.

I've grown to like you more but not your avatar. Van bommel one was goat.

I don't think anyone dislikes me here.

I've been talking up Cavani since pre-season in this thread and everyone pointed and laughed. Now everyone seems to rate him and chastise United fans who, understandably, think he isn't the right man for their problems, even if RVP/Falcao left.

I don't get some of you.

No doubt about that.

But I guess Bayern fans are just hyping him (and last year Ribery) so much because it would be nice to see some recognition from outside of Germany. It would be nice to win that thing for once. But ah well. Just look at Lahm. He probably deserves it a 1000% time more than that Italian who won it in 2006. Yet he will never end up as an International legend. Even with everything he won. I guess there is a stigma on players who play for German teams. Or Bayern.

Show us the proof of where those of us that rate him didn't rate him before m8.

Wooden, serie a gaf and I have always rated him.

Same people that don't want him now are Probably same people that pointed and laughed.
