Yes but the situation he was in, out wide as part of a double defensive unit, fullbacks further up the field, ushered and encouraged to pass back to Reina rather than stick the ball down the line, is entirely Rodgers' doing. There's no better example. Skrtel failed to know where Tevez, he didn't even look before he passed. Just because the style of play doesn't suit Skrtel doesn't mean he has to do a half job, he was the reason the team lost 2 points that day. Even Ferguson goes out and blames the players. If Skrtel is really so small minded that he needs Rodgers to blatantly lie to him so he can keep his moral up than there's more issues at hand here.
Accepting responsibility for stylistic errors (Rodgers said Enrique was out of position, making Skrtel's options limited) are important when bringing in a new style of play. Skrtel was out of his comfort zone and he made a mistake, it's Rodgers job to hold his hands up and take the blame for putting him there.
To be honest I don't think you have much of a clue about man management, or even Ferguson. Ferguson came out in his press conference yesterday and spoke about the importance of publicly defending your players, even if they are in the wrong.
You either don't fully understand the implications of Rodgers accepting the blame on that particular occasion, or you're laughing at thin air.
Either way it's pretty dense.
