Got a week off at the end of April and 2 weeks at the end of June.

Think I might shop around in April, see how much the PS4 will set me back by, and go about building it in June

How do warranties work when you're building your own btw? Do you just have to hope you don't irreperably fuck it up? Also, do modern motherboards come equipped with surge protectors? I thought the XPS had one, and the plug it was running fom had one, but it still got killed

(It wasn't very good anyway)

Did you ever play FEAR btw? Were the frame rate issues a problem with the game, or with the system?

Go with a 128GB SSD as a primary drive and use the 2TB as a stockage for your data/Steam/porn/MMOs. That way, all programmes should launch faster, and the rather small capacity should optimize the cost of the whole package.

Depends on the PSU, they vary a lot in quality. SSD is a flash storage drive, you can boot Windows in around 5 seconds with them. They're heavenly.

Hitcher, Kharma knows his shit. I basically built the build he recommended for me, been great so far.

I built it myself with little to no experience around Christmas, there was a couple of niggly parts that were only tricky because it was my first time. There's some really good guides out there that make it pretty easy. Booted first time, no problem, and that was after not sleeping for over 24 hours haha!
