I hate Fortnite for piggy backing off other successful games. Actually I hate any game that uses other more successful games to promote their crap game (see Dead By Daylight).

My problem is not matter what game they decide to crossover with, it has to converted to Fortnite's ugly ass artsyle.

Fortnite has 300M players.

But would it have that many players if it didn't use character skins from other movies, games, etc.? I highly doubt it. But people see Marvel, iconic video game characters, celebrities, etc. and it draws them in.

Epic didn't create those characters, and so they shouldn't be able to use those characters. Same with non-Nintendo characters in Smash Bros. Is it a neat concept, sure I guess, but it feels like these games are standing on the shoulders of giants.

Yes, it would. Most Fortnite players don't like the collabs.

And standing on the shoulders of giants? What other shooter has 300M players?

Some of the characters look like shit for sure but as a whole I think it's a nice art style and the game is a looker. Looks really good on a good PC or SX/PS5.

Confuses me when I hear this criticism so often.

For me Smash is much more fateful to character's looks and I personally really HATE Fortnite's aesthetics.

I mean, DBD used Silent Hill in a FAR more respectful way than Konami has in the last 15 years (barring Shattered Memories which was decent). I mean, I'm not saying DBD doesn't have flaws, but I'm not about to complain when someone (DBD) hands me a cheeseburger that is only decent when the other guy (Konami) has been punching me in the face every time he walks by for a good while now.

Fornite is awesome even though I havent played it years.

The skin implementation is one of the best I seen since LittleBigPlanet. But interest fell off by third parties for LBP.

They always ALMOST get me to download the game just to buy a skin. Then I realize… I dont play this game.

I bet companies profit as much as if they were licensing for a toy. Fornite is just that big.

Still cool to bash Fortnite I see. :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

It's an awesome game that is constantly changing, and it always has many different modes of play.

Just earlier I played "Squad Game", which is a user-created version of Squid Game. My Ghostbuster Jill Valentine almost made it to the end of the glass bridge.

The preview showed a bunch of scarry zombies, is this supposed to be kids game still or not? That said epic has been master of crossover with this game, what would you have them do, make sure the game gets boring for repeat players by adding nothing?

I hate battle royale and it is clearly the worst shooter game mode, but I enjoyed team rumble which is a sort of tdm.

You could usually do your season pass in team rumble, but the last season pass where they totally did ignore team rumble I was done with the game.

Fortnite was massive even before they started doing crossover guests. If anything, it's Fortnite's success which has enabled them to cleave through the legal red tape granting these characters access to the game, rather than vice versa. Going the route of including iconic characters is simply multiplying the popularity of what was already one of the most played games in the world. I get what you're saying, but it would be more accurate (depending on your view) to say that Fortnite is profiting from the popularity of better games, not necessarily more successful ones.

What's the creator code? One I found is called Octo Games. 🤔😂

And regarding Jill it goes without saying...

shut up and take my money GIF by Product Hunt

Me and my wife play this 4 player with our kids and its so much fun now there are quests everywhere and interesting things to do for XP. These costumes are never something I would spend money on but the kids love them.

The game was already a huge success, the skins just add another thing to be interested in. Jill's looks good. Chris looks like a generic goon from Despicable Me.

Wonder how long it'll be before every single, movie, comic, game, music and literature character is added to Fortnite.

Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy next please.

Fortnite. I don't like you, you don't like me. But, I left you alone to do your thing. Why must you continue to crap all over all the things I love?

In the case of Konami related stuff, yeah if they don't use it they should lose it.

I can remember OG Fortnite actually being an interesting concept. Now the game has just evolved into 'Game grasping at XYZ franchise for relevance.'

Tell me you don't know anything about Fortnite's current relevance without telling me you don't know anything about Fortnite's current relevance

I played Fortnite when I had nothing left to play. It was fun for a while but I got bored quickly.
However, I don't understand all the drama and hatred that this game generates in certain people.

They both look kinda weird.

Fortnite has a really odd artstyle imo, it's like they can't decide if they want to be cartoony or realistic.
Their limbs and stuff like their eyebrows etc looks like it's made out of playdough or something it just has this bizarre feeling.

It's kinda strange too when it's supposedly a game for kids and they thrown in characters from games for adults, especially baffling when they censor them like Cammy ( her attire looks like a fucking Yoga grandma from the 70's or something ).
And they still make Chun thicc as hell it's just so all over the place like they can't make up their mind.
Is the game for kids or is it not?

Go back to sleep, Grandpa.
