What would I be mad about? Moving to PC this gen has paid off for me.

There's a wide range between 2% and "nearly all".
You seem mad. You are the one that started going down the #SonyToo path and then calling out a GOTY. LOL.

It was one of the better games that I played when I had my Xbox (I did prefer FH4), but I always wished I could play it with the DualSense controller. I’ll probably buy this.

I wonder what this means for the Forza series and turn 10 specifically

Is that studio going to get shut down or refolded into a horizon studio while playground works on fable?
I'm on the Forza Insider forums. Put more than 1000 hours in it and the developers have stopped interacting with us quite some time ago. Like abandoned us. There are day 1 bugs that aren't fixed and there are countless empty promises. It's been a crazy ride and a painful one for Forza fans. The handling of the cars is amazing, but everything else (besides presentation) is a total disaster. There aren't even stats for Multiplayer. Go figure.

The player counts on Steam are very low and they just announced that everything they planned to do is in doubt and that they will slow down updates from now on. In short: it's over and they lost a lot of trust with their community.

This series needs at least a 10 year break to even try and recover but to be honest, next to Gran Turismo I see no reason why they should even try. They clearly aren't up to the task and I think the studio is in big trouble.

This has come up recently.

I think Halo on PlayStation is a bigger deal than Sonic on Nintendo.

By the time Sonic hit Nintendo (and PlayStation) Nintendo had already been diminished in the console space. It wasn't even Nintendo who bested Sega it was Sony, but the Sega Sony rivalry was never anywhere close to as heated as Nintendo vs Sega.

Sony and Microsoft have been in competition with each other for over 20 years and they're essentially the last two standing in the premium console market.

I think the only thing that would top Halo on PlayStation would be Mario on PlayStation with Pokemon rounded out 3rd, largely due to the nature of how Sony got into the business.

Xbox has already been diminished in the console space though.

The difference here though is that Sega had dropped out of the console industry a year or two prior to Sonic on GameCube.

Microsoft are trying to, or at least appear to be, selling a console while this craziness is going on.

With them going third party I don’t see Forza being able to compete well with GT other than horizon which does something different

Looks like they worked on this port as well. I imagine they'll be working on a port of Motorsport as well, just cause.

Well, another proof that Xbox as a gaming brand is over. I'll keep my One since I've literally hundreds of games on it (400+) but I won't give any more € for an Xbox hardware. Why doing so ? They decide to give up on gaming as creatives, as leaders, they decide to be a third party publisher, fine, I'll pick up the games I want on sale, and that's it.

That's a sad time imo, it's good for PS gamers for sure, but for competition it sucks, consoles used to have souls, have a "feeling", Nintendo is Mario/Zelda/Metroid, Sony is Uncharted/TLOU/GoW/GT/Ratchet, Xbox is Halo/Gears/Fable/Forza... but not anymore, Xbox give up.

I had a feeling that Spencer, with all his lies since 2014 would bring nothing good to Xbox or to gaming, and that's what he did, sinking Xbox since his arrival. It's almost admirable to be so incompetent. "Good guy Phil", huh ?

I didn't. I responded to someone who thought this means that Sony should stop porting to PC. If anything it should result in the opposite because their games are now also competing with MS games on their platform.

I would be shocked if they release motorsport to ps5. The cost of porting to the actual sales would be atrocious. Horizon certainly makes financial sense. The next motorsport would likely be on everything though.

I see only 1 motor GHG GHG

That's why I felt both of you were right initially. kevboard kevboard was arguing hardware and you were arguing software.

That's because what you're looking at there is the physical trigger motor only.

Please refer to the following:

On the side of the Adaptive Trigger, the space is occupied by a vibrotactile actuator able to produce HD Haptics vibrations. That actuator is designed and produced by Foster Electric, some models can integrate actuators produced by Minebea Mitsumi.

It is a Linear Resonant Actuator, or Voice Coil Motor, as its behavior implies the linear motion of magnets driven by coils and suspended by elastic parts, like springs or silicone membranes. Such construction induces a resonant component. A HD Haptic actuator looks like a small speaker with a mechanical design aimed to provide a high acceleration at low frequencies. Modern designs like the one Foster provides, or our HapCoil actuators, have the capability to also reproduce a part of the audible bandwidth.

All of the vibrations in the dualsense are done via haptics (they are essentially speakers).

Whoa. I had no idea. I stand corrected.

Sorry kevboard kevboard , you are on your own now.

It doesn't cost a lot of money to port a game from XSX to PS5. They'll be looking to recoup as much money as they can and anyway they can.

I think Motorsport won't come and the next one depends on Polyphony perhaps. I can imagine they won't like it, even though it would be interesting if they directly compete on the same platform.

I just cant get into open world racing games. I find with Horizon that the races are either too easy against the AI or when I increase the difficulty slightly, are almost impossible to win. I just prefer the track stuff. Just let me jump straight into races.

Man, I'm still a little confused though after reading through it. The haptics being referred to in those paragraphs are for the whole controller. They just happen to be located on the side of the triggers, right? That's not what you feel on the trigger... Your debate with kevboard kevboard was on what you feel on the trigger itself.

Granted that in unison, it all works really well for GT7, so nothing needs to get lost in translation while porting Horizon, if they put in the effort.

There's a silver cylicrical part that you can see.

Inside that (towards the bottom) there is a speaker.

This is great. Instead of any new releases from Sony for the rest of the gen, we'll just get old Xbox games.

This gen sucks a big fat hairy dick.

This gen has been the worst gen I can remember. The lack of exclusive content and cross gen content is why I'm seriously considering this being the last gen I buy a console. I haven't spent much time with any Nintendo content since BotW in 2017, Xbox is all PC content and Sony is either day 1 or later ports, and often the premium version, to PC. That's when it's a game worth playing (Forbidden West is not, for example). Helldivers 2 is the last game I enjoyed significantly and I played it on PC. Games I'm most fond of the last 4 years? Almost entirely 3rd party. With Steam deck and Big Picture mode, I see myself being PC exclusive going forward. Exception being a possible Switch 2 purchase for my son since he still enjoys some games on there like Mario and Pokemon.

Fantastic news. People who decry the lack of necessity to buy multiple near identical plastic boxes are morons.
All games on all platforms that can support them, compete on price, performance, quality of service. Kthxbye

Really?

There have been games that launched this month that are not PS5 Pro enhanced

By "games", you mean plural/multiple games, that have their first initial release after the release of the PS5 Pro, and not like Cyberpunk 2077 which didn't recieve a patch?

Please go ahead and mention what those games are, because they clearly are breaking first party rules and I'm clearly oblivious to them. Sony can knock them off the store or even pull back physical skus from stores if they have a physical release.

But yes, really, it is a first party mandatory rule for both, Microsoft and Sony, for any developer or publisher, should they ship their game, it should be PS5 Pro enhanced (after the release of the PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series S Optimized (meaning the code should be using the native Scarlett API that is used for the Series X too and not the Durango one that is used for the Xbone generation of consoles, aka backwards compatibility).

You do understand that Sony would love for this to happen correct?
But it won't. God of War, Horizon (Aloy), The Last Of Us series, etc. It would have to sell a truckload to stand on that level. Won't even mention Spider-Man as it's laughable to even think it would match that, let alone beat it. We don't even have solid figures for the game between PC and Xbox and now all of a sudden it's going to compete with Sony's top sellers? :nougat_rofl:

I just notice a lot of random shots being taken Sony's 1st Party stuff (not you) with this news. It's the literal display of coping.

All you have to do is pull up the PlayStation store and look at new releases and click on games and you will find recently released games that are not PS5 Pro enhanced

Trust me I have been keeping up the Pro enhanced games list here and I keep looking at games to see which ones get enhanced tags
