Forza Motorsport 3 |OT|

Just wanted to show off my new AC Milan car. I re-did the front logo (they switched from Bwin to Fly Emirates).

If anyone wants this logo, it is on the storefront. It can be used for Arsenal cars too since they use the same sponsor. If anyone really wants the logo and can't pay for it, I'll gift it. Just send me a message at: deadno0b

Sometimes Forza 3 really annoys me.
I've virtually finished the game and I want to do Hot laps on individual circuits with cars of a similar type/power etc, kinda like in Top Gear. Unfortunately individual tracks in FM3 don't have lap records in a nice convenient list for easy comparison. This is such a shame. I remember in an "other" racing game spending hours on each and every track putting down lap times with default non-tuned cars and wringing the best possible times out of them. I did this for ages, from the lowest class up. Sometimes I am brutally reminded about how much is actually missing from FM3. Oh well.

Compared to forza 3, forza 2 is 10 times better for scoreboards, it had more then 1 for everything!

It also had tournaments to win credits.

It also had an arcade mode with races in set cars and time trials to win gold coins....

I agree with you. I see it like this:

Aug - Forzalopnik 1 - The Favorites:
1970 Chevrolet El Camino 454 Super Sport (free)
1973 BMW 2002 Turbo
1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth
1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
1992 GMC Syclone
1982 Lancia 037 Stradale
1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II
1982 DeLorean DMC-12
1971 De Tomaso Pantera
1994 Nissan 240sx (suprise, we do listen!)

Sept - Forzalopnik 2 - The Oddballs:
1977 Mazda RX-3SP (free)
1964 Chevrolet Impala SS
1987 Toyota MR2 Supercharged
1988 Toyota ST165 Celica GT4
1971 AMC Javelin AMX

Oct - FM3 Victory Lap:
2011 Audi RS5 (Free, FM3 Special Leaderboard Edition)
2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (drive the GT5 cover car a month early)
2011 Porsche 918 (only in FM3)
2011 Bugatti Veyron SuperSports (only in FM3)
2010 Lamborghini LP570 Superleggera (highly requested, bookends the VIP pack)
2011 Lexus LFA (No brainer, just for the sound modelling)
2010 Koenigsegg Agera (Because the CCX and CCR are both missing)
2010 Audi R15 TDI Plus (There has to be one R1)
2011 Ferrari 458 Challenge (bookend Hot Holidays)
2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (5.0L SCV8+facelift)

That would wrap up the DLC nicely IMO. Although I'd still love to see Infineon Raceway because it was rumored at one time and offers a ton of layouts and a drag strip.

will we ever get the 2011 Ford Mustang GT/V6? PLEASE?

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
Level 50 get. Only took 9 months.

Early in season 6, which seems to be later than most get it.

Need like 500k For the all manufactures achievement. Whick sucks.

Getting sick of car packs. New cars yay but seriously I would like some new tracks to drive them on. As it stands I've not buying any more car packs till there are new tracks to drive them, just too sick of the current ones.

Looks like someone else out there agrees with me.

I'm in the new track crowd.

I love Forza 3 and have played it more than any racer in my lifetime. I'm just bored to death with the current tracks, both driving and photo options.

I know its technically impossible, but I'd killed for PGR 4's tracks to just be sold as a $15.oo DLC pack for Forza 3. I'd buy it in an instant.

I wonder how that would work since the actual track geometry would be solid and unadjustable.

Forge style tyre walls, cones and cement barriers so you could create some tight spaces, extra caches (think new york with the speed traps)

Would be a novelty but I can't see much use for it outside of making your own layouts on the hanger map.

I was toying around with Forza 3 and uploaded a replay from Nurburgring..consisting of 10 replays @ 30 seconds each =P
I get so mad that the rest of the tracks cant be updated with some new cool replay views as seen in the DLC-Track :( (as we talked about earlier)
Some views looks really good :)
Also I wished that instead of 30s videos , T10 could make at least 45s videos...

Me too. I'd recreate the track I had to drive at the police academy:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=fletc&ie=UTF8&hq=fletc&hnear=&ll=31.242581,-81.477206&spn=0.009283,0.027466&t=h&z=16

I don't think it'd be that hard for them to do. Even if they just gave us 'tiles' we fit together that had all kinds of different curves and elevations to them, that would be better than nothing. I think Turn 10 of all companies should know if you give people even the most basic tools, they'll come up with amazing stuff.

Some new photos, I've taken recently. I have more which I need to upload. I'm beginning to reach (again) the critical point where the time to save photos is taking longer each time. :lol

Strangely, I've got two photos from the R8 which are 180 KB each (and still manage to have awful compression). Bias toward Audi going deeper than we thought ?!:lol

G rom you ever thought about backing up the image save file onto a usb pen and then starting fresh with a new set of images?I think images are saved separately like the wmv's are.

Oh yes, I've already wiped a 400+ photos file but I've crossed the 200 mark again on the new one and I'm starting to feel the slugginess again. :D
In the coming days/week, I'll probably wipe the photo file to have the instant save again. In fact, I'm only waiting to decide which photo I'm entering in this week's photo mode competition...:lol

Ok, I think i'm missing something. I went shopping for a Mitsu Evo X on the auction house when I noticed there was a Mitsu Evo X +. Was this included in a carpack that I missed or this a hint of something to come?

Don't forget that tomorrow all the DLC goes on sale for 40% off, 240 instead of 400 for each pack and track.

I may pick up the nurb just because it has stellar replay cameras.

I bought the two latest car packs yesterday to "catch up." Darn it.

Oh well, a picture to make me feel better.

It was a pre-order bonus car.

It's just the stock Evo X with a different livery, not a different car.

Yet oddly if you don't use the code and race someone online with it, it's a black ghost car :lol can't see why it wasn't just a skin so the game could download it to those who did not own it, and saying that I lost my preorder card when I was waiting for my LE to get here 1 week late in the post :(

Finally Forza will get an online multiplayer mode where everyone races in the same, unmodified car. From the latest "Week in review":

The biggest piece of the set is the introduction of a lobby that a lot of you will be happy about: the Production/Stock car lobby (name is not final). While tuning is a very big part of Forza Motorsport so is having a race against people on a more level playing field. In Production races, it all comes down to how well you hit your corners and how consistent you are around the track. Having this option is something we are very excited about, and something that will allow anyone to get in and race without opening your wallet (after all, tuning can be expensive). This lobby features a nice range of specific car/track combo in its rotation, ranging from a stock Aston Martin DB9 on Silverstone GP to racing alongside eight Honda NSX-R GTs on the Suzuka GP.

The rotation is currently pre-set and will feature all types of cars, and over the next few weeks we will be tracking which combinations are doing well and which might need to be replaced. On top of that new lobby will be revisions of existing lobbies. That includes the removal of unused hoppers and the introduction of new track rotations into circuit lobbies.

Fixed track/car combinations is still not ideal (I would prefer random cars), but this is at least something in the right direction.

That is great news. To be honest I've been afraid of venturing online, too worried I'd be out-tuned.

Cool tat. But wait. There's a way you can recover your lost save? I wasn't aware of this. I completely lost my entire save when I transferred everything over to my new 360 S. I was a year away from finishing the game and had a ton of credits. Now I have zip. What's the best advice to do, Jube?

Why did you loose your save when going to a Slim ?
You could have transferred your save on an USB key...

heh, but they really need to put in a decent free race mode for single player.
I want to choose each car (even among the ones in my garage) each driver, number of laps and AI.

Why am i forced to race against random cars, with rubberband + easy AI and a fixed number of laps ?

Not being random car / track is a good thing otherwise we would end up with a slow car on the nurb :p as long as the preset choices are entertaining and worthy of being in the mix that is all cool with me.

And finally i'll go back to forza multi for a bit, RWD I love but not enough play it, they all want to go win with their AWD Audi's :(

Played more single player last night, fucking hell it's so slow and boring I want to shoot myself when I look at doing some of the 8 lap 10 track leagues knowing it will be 2 hours of falling asleep.

I don't know if you have gold but racing in multiplayer private races will be the answer to almost everything you wish. It's not a true single player mode but it's better than nothing.
You can pick cars for each AI (not from your garage though), choose number of laps, AI difficulty (same as the your career mode), etc...
Trade-off is that you won't be able to pause (thus no photo mode), rewind and watch your replay instantly (you have to save it first)...

There's nothing you can do. And certainly don't expect T10 to assist you.
Basically, C.R.S. (Mitchy7k's group) will gift you cars/credits to help you get back earning for yourself. I was a member before I lost my save in a 360S transfer as well and even though I didn't call on them to help this time, I immediately bought back into the group when I got back to level 50 again. The C.R.S. Livery for the Ram SRT-10 is pretty hot anyway.

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
great news about the stock car hopper. i love forza's emphasis on tuning, but it severely hampers the online experience IMO. nice to see that finally addressed.

any word on when the lancia 037 hits from the japolink dlc voting?

Join the club. I completed the game (level 50) put in over 120 hours of racing, had a stacked garage and like 6 million credits left over. Then I lost my save.:lol

Jube was nice enough to gift me a couple cars, though.

I played forza 2 around 2.7 times due to lost save / shitty shit / profile changing, I honestly think I could not play over forza 3 again any time soon.

Same here. Too many drag/ovals and long ass 10 lap races in career mode. Then you have those F and E slow ass races to complete.

I just pop in Forza every now for a quick race or 2. God, I wish this game had a proper quick race mode.

skyfinch said:

Yes, this really is a very strange oversight. As mentioned by others, you can set up a private multiplayer race against only AI, but this is incredibly cumbersome to set up (and you need Xbox Live Gold).
The existing quick race mode is nice in that it automatically selects AI cars around the PI of the car you selected. If only you could select the number of laps and the AI difficulty, it would be perfect.
