I didn't pay my 250 GTO, I won it in an official Turn 10 photo mode competition held on forzamotorsport.net. There are also painting and tuning competitions.
You can also make some big in-game bucks by entering the official Time Trials (in career->leaderboards->time trial). IIRC, you don't necessarily need to make a Top 10 time to win something. I think I won few 100,000 Cr. by getting a Top 100 scores (much easier than Top 10).
If you're talented at making design, and sell a lot of them, you'll earn an enormous amount of money too.

I hope that these thing are easier to know and find in the next game. I understand that the forum on FM.net is an extension of the game but I'd love to be able to make a photo and enter it directly in a competition, be it official or unofficial (other players would be able to hold competitions within the game).


You have to buy the cars with in-game money because it could be seen as unfair for the people who don't buy DLCs and the economy on the auction house for these cars would be completely nullified (just like for the gifted cars you get for each level).

And damn, I didn't notice that the Halo Reach gift car was for VIP only. I yanked Halo Reach out of my Xbox, threw in Forza and got all excited for nothing. :lol

I just went through buying cars for the one from each manufacturer achievement. I bought a lot of muscle cars and did a lot of engine swaps too, dropped a ton of money in my S13/14/15 too.

I guess I should have just planned ahead and not splurged :p

Yea, that makes sense. I didn't even think of the auction house. Guess I gotta learn how to paint or tune.

Hey thanks Jube. I just checked and I had received a Takata DOME NSX, with 10k CR in my Storefront! :D You accidentally sent me 2 S2000's, how do go about to send you one back? And is there any checklist of VIP Releases that I can check against My Cars, just in case this has been happening to me before?

Can't wait for your HD tutorials, hopefully they aren't canceled. :)

No worries on the second s2000, its set as a unicorn so it has little resell and cant be gifted/sold to users. Also yea the tuts aren't canceled I just am still without my setup (I am having capture withdrawl :lol )

The Takata themed livery was done by a Forza team called AutoArt tuning. They created both the paint and the tune on that car (great car). It is the first car to roll out of many more to come from community teams.

Edit, damn! There are a shitload of gift cars. I don't feel so bad about deleting my save game anymore.:D

Did some laps in ferrari on lemans. The car felt really nice and stable. The "mechanics" forgot to connect the dials though. :p

Also had a go in Halo Reach S2000. Not only it looks sexy, but also handles very good. Gives good confidence - attacking the kerbs feels great.

I've given up on the forums and am now down to just waiting for the weekly blog on Friday.
Production hoppers are the only reason I haven't dropped this game completely now that F1 2010 is available.

Should this "big announcement" not be Forzalopnik, I'm done with their site completely.
Any announcement big enough will bump this thread and I'll learn that way. 5 straight weeks of hoping for something and getting nothing is enough.

Surely if it's only the Jalopnik DLC, they wouldn't have teased it as being "big", right ? right ?
If that's the next announcement, I think the Shane Kim RE5 announcement will be beaten !:lol


Interestingly, The Paris Motorshow opens on the 30th (for the press), the announcement is on the 29th and the new CM has said two times that he was out of the office on a top secret mission, related ?

Argh.. I almost forgot about that.

So it's probably the Forza 3 Ultimate edition announcement (since the game completes 1 year in october).

Before Forzacentral went down (for good ?! :-/), I saw that that BADNED had 10/12/10 as his signature. It's the second tuesday of october which would work as a DLC date. I think it's safe to say that we'll get a DLC next month and we have a 99% chance that it's the second Jalopnik. Still eager to see what will be announced today but also "in the coming months"...

Also, I was wondering, is that an American thing to have front orange turning signals ? I've noticed that the Series 1 and some Audi have orange turning signals in Forza 3. I've never seen any of this here, in France/Europe...
I think it makes those cars look so much worse. :lol

Is the "FM3 Collection" a sort of Retail Package containing only all the DLC thus far without the gmae itself?

I'd like to buy something like that for sure. As I've yet to buy any DLC waiting for some sort of package deal like this.

I understand that they get those model because it's easier for them but they should try to get true versions of the cars instead of going the easy way. Audi should be the EU versions, same with the BMW, get the true Testarossa instead of the 512TR while you're at it...:lol

Also, are you the BADNED from Forzacentral ? If yes, what's going on with the website ? Is it completely dead ? :/

Well we won't know until it's officially announced but it's probably what you described. It should be the Platinum release of FM3 along with all the DLC so far on the second disc just like for FM2.

Well the announcement was delayed to early today (it's already the 29th here :D ). There has to be more than the Jalopnik DLC. Why would they delay the announcement of a car pack that we already know about ?

Even though the Jalopnik scenario is still our best bet, I keep thinking that the timing with the Paris Motorshow is suspect. The press opening was today and many cars will be revealed today as well. A DLC full of Paris Motorshow concept cars would be awesome with the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, BMW 6 Series Coupé Concept, Audi Quattro, etc...
I'll stop there, I don't want to hype myself and be disappointed...:lol
I would love to see the hate on FM.net if another 2011 DLC pack would be up before the Jalopnik one though ...:lol

Doubt anyone there remembers me :p in fact I can't remember my login pass lol.

I would hope that the Top Gear content will be available separately. That's what I really want out of this package and would prefer not being forced to buy another copy of the game and DLC, most of which I already own.

The partnership with Top Gear is described as "long-term," so I'm assuming we'll be getting a test track DLC too...

If you announce this, why not put the track into the Package from the get go? Seems too obvious, but they again missed the opportunity.

If the UC is platinum price i'll bite, £15 for all content in the box is worth it to me, I only own the first car pack anyway so i'd be getting all that dlc bundled in along with those exclusives.

Good thing I only paid £30 for my collectors instead of £55, eh eh eh?

Seriously, what's the point of all this exclusive BS !?
First, the VIPs were robbed and now it's the whole existing community...
It just doesn't make any sense to put exclusive cars in a new version of your game, especially when it's perhaps the three most requested cars from your community (which has already bought the game) ! :-/

Also, I too don't understand why the Audi R8 5.2 FSI Quattro, Audi TT RS Coupe and Audi R15 TDI are considered exclusive ?! That's nice Turn 10 but I could already play with them months ago...:lol


Honestly, after this BS, I'm more interested in what it means for Forza 4 rather than for this Ultimate Edition (which won't even be available in France...). The new CM said that on the FM.net forums : "I hope you guys are as excited about this news as we are here at Turn 10. In particular, the Top Gear partnership is going to result in some extremely cool things in the future. I can't say much about our plans now but it's going to be something special."

PS : We can safely say the physics of Forza 4 won't be considered magic carpet-like by Topgear.com...:lol

Well it was pretty good at the beginning, although the original thought of it being a way to get all DLCs for free sounded much better. :D

Eventhough I know this is coming since they did the same thing with Forza 2, it's still really annoying considering especially how quick this is. (They also said they would do this in that one survey way back when) But I was hoping for some game improvment (ie Forza 3.5) and not just repackaged Forza 3 with DLC stuff.

Heh would be awesome if the UC was all of forza 3's content using a new updated shader, but I 100% doubt they would put that much effort into a bundle release.

I just hope forza 4 is more fleshed out in photomode, video captures and has more then 8 damn cars on the bigger circuits.
