In FM2 You can put race tires, full weight reduction(the car is very light to begin with), and swap the engine to the RB26(yeah it'll be AWD) and youd end up with a car that was around 2200-2400(dont remember the exact number)pounds and 345HP right at or near the limit for A class. Handles great but lacking on tracks with the long straights.
Edit: :lol :lol :lol :lol

pr0cs said:I love the game, it is a huge improvement over Forza2 in almost every respect (more multiplayer races though please).
My biggest beef is that there are too many cars, or better described I want a career mode that is more like an RPG. I have a few cars that I REALLY really like. I want to get really good at driving them but it seems like the game career mode suggests that I should abandon the cars I've grown to love and understand and try another car. Now that is okay and I can understand why some people like that but I want a game where my vehicle is sort of like my toon in an RPG game. Where I upgrade it when it makes sense to do so, when I have the money or when I earn something in-game that enables me to use the changes.
I've become attached to a few cars in my collection and I hate having to drive other races with cars I don't give a shit about or have no inclination to learn how to drive well. Typically I just mow through those type events/races so I can get back to the cars I do like racing.
I hope someone comes up with a racing game with this sort of concept.

My impression of season mode is that it's really flexible and lets you stick with a car, or suggests something new. Other than weekend events, I feel like I can go into my garage, choose what car I feel like using and have plenty of events in season mode ready to play.
Kawasaki said:Driving a muscle car in forza is still pretty much the best expirience a racing game can offer. Changing to fifth at 300km/h is really something. Too bad T10 has "gimped" muscle cars in F3. By that I mean how they ruined new york with chicanes(and those genesis ads are really tacky), almost all the new tracks are too slow and with AWD conversion availible on cars with ~400kW so muscle cars don't have that much of an advantage on the straights.
rjcc said:there's a version of NYC without the chicanes. I hate them as much as i hate the track without them thoug,h they're hard to judge in the shadows
Can't believe there are people bitching about Matchmaking.Drastic said:So these rocket scientists do a planned server update at 7pm EST, for up to an hour.
No online racing, storefront, auction house - nothing.
Turn 10 - surprising yet again.
They must be lying and the server went down? Surely no developer in their right mind would purposely take down a server for a minor update, days after release during prime gaming hours.

A few things I've learned along the way:
One gripe I do have involves the lack of functioning displays in some of the race cars, especially the ones you are gifted. It's a real problem when you're trying to drive with a minimal HUD and even more perplexing considering certain variants of the same cars have displays that work just fine. I'm wondering if this is something Turn 10 could possibly patch. It seems like a sizeable oversight considering how much was made of the fact that the game had 400 fully-functioning cockpits.
- Rewind, while initially touted as a way to undo mistakes or learn new corners, is in fact best used for repeatedly teaching M. Rossi how to fly. I hate that fucking guy.
- If New York never shows up again in another Forza game, I will be the happiest person in the world. The chicanes help, though.
- Give a Veyron 1,200 hp, take out a few hundred pounds, and you're not left with a car, but an obscenely excessive, all-conquering, 165-mph-quarter-mile-trapping case study of absolute power corrupting absolutely.
- Any racing game from here on out that doesn't include a homespace/car porn mode will be a miserable failure. It's one of my favorite aspects of FM3, though more environments would have been welcome.
Overall, though, it's been absolutely fantastic and more far more enjoyable overall than FM2 was. I'm still suffering from lack of sleep thanks to this game, but I just can't help myself.
skyfinch said:Something funky happens to the "rewind" during endurance events. Played Nurburgring endurance and on about the second last lap I made a mistake (yes, it happens, Turn 10 wasn't lying :lol ) so ended up using Rewind. But instead of the game rewinding, the FM logo load screen popped up for a split second, then when the game returned, I was set back the 5 seconds. I'm guessing because the game has to store of the info into the memory, a long race (like endurance nurburgring) is too much keep in the memory. Anyways, the damn load screen gave me a nice scare. Thought the game reset on me. :lol
I've got to say, the late night race crowd has been fantastic. I can't say I'm winning consistantly, but I am finding a lot of nice, clean racers, and my Subaru 2.5RS is competitive on the tighter tracks.cjelly said:so many sore losers online.

Carfule how you upgrade that one. She's one of the most impressive street machine of her stock, but she doesn't take to tampering well. I don't have mine yet, but if I recall correctly, you'll want to soften up the rear springs a bit...well, softer than you might normally tune.Elfforkusu said:Just got/upgraded a Porsche 959 to max A-class. Falagard said:Season play in Forza 3 is exponentially better than Forza 2's career mode.
It's tailored to your current car, the cars you have in your garage, and the tracks that you've played. Career mode in Forza 2 was just a giant list of stuff to do.
Drastic said:>They could be adding new matchmaking playlists? Who knows.
Actually in the thread I linked, T10 rep says its just to improve stability.
Drastic said:Yeah, I guess so. Still makes more sense to serve 80% of your consumer base, if not more, by doing it while they're asleep.
Yeah, they should inconvenience thousands of gamers so they can do it at their convenience - makes a ton of sense.

One of the races was Laguna Seca, several of the people racing were getting low 1:29s in A class.
