Forza Motorsport 4 - The Floodgates Have Opened...

Forza Garage Round 2: The 2011 Ferrari FF is full of firsts--the company's first shooting brake and first AWD car--and it's also the fastest four-seat car in the world. Rack up another first for the FF--it's coming to Forza 4! Also welcome back a pair of world-class tourers, the 2010 Aston Martin Rapide and 2010 Bentley Continental Supersports.

Forza Garage Round 2 for the day.

I know lots of people aren't fan of the FF. I love it.

The clown shoe M Coupe was a dream car of mine when I was younger, love that Ferrari made their own.

I'm curious to see how it handles! Nice addition.

The Ferrari FF is the single Ferrari I will not support in any shape or form, wheras I would usually blindly defend any Ferrari vehicle to my death.

The Panamera is ugly.
4 dour coupes outside of the Rapide are ugly. And the Rapide is kind of tired anyways.
The FF is ugly. And fat.

I agree with you, but I'd still rather drive the FF than this abomination

I would rather drive that than an FF.

Completely serious. All I see when I look at the FF is "herp." The grille, the arch of the roofline, the vents on the sides, everything is repulsive.

I have to admit, the Panamera has grown on me. I've seen quite a few around Boston and they've stopped looking awful.

That said, I do believe the FF is hideous - no matter how it performs.

FU FF.

The miserable thing can die in a fire-- and given the propensity of early 458s for spontaneous combustion, hopefully many will. This better not lead to kids doing drivetrain swaps and trolling around in AWD Ferraris. Imagine the horror.

I will say, though, that I'm impressed Turn 10 got the car modeled and in the the game already. I figured it would a lock for DLC.

Man, those tracks and weather effects in that PGR4 photo thread... As glorious as I remember them; haven't aged a day. Step aside, all other modern arcade(-ish) racers; step the fuck aside.

So where is this new PGR appreciation thread of which you speak?

And how many people here used to post on the old Bizarre Creations forums? I recognise Saladine and Enzo from those days.

I was around in the PGR3 days, posting under the handle "Passione Rossa." Good times, those were.

Forza has 2 dvd's.. I think they have plenty of available space as of now.

Right. And there was room to spare on disc 2.

When you are dealing with different times of day and the track lighting isn't realtime calculated then space is an issue. They aren't doing different times of day for all tracks for example. Thought I read that somewhere.

Gonna open a few cans of worms here but hey it isn't a bad time since info is slow.

#1: the lighting could be better. There is no direct sunlight it looks like. My friend who knows a bit about gfx in general said that IBL covers the ambient light but the direct sunlight is another aspect that FM4 doesn't seem to have or does so poorly you can't see it. It is much better than FM3 and in cases where it is overcast or dark it looks awesome but when its a sunny day the cars still don't sit right.

#2: The teaser footage we saw a long time ago showed off things like racing on various road surfaces and night racing...it was very misleading because it leads you to believe those will be in 4. Whats up with that?

Lazy P.R., not thinking hey this might be misleading.

not true and not true.
If anything fm4 still has too much direct sunlight and too little ambient light, and IBL can cover direct sunlight, depending on your hdr map

the 456 is a great ferrari (ive had a ride in one) and i'd much rather own one than the FF. although i wouldnt have the estate version lol. it looks awesome in red too

edit: hey what are the chances of seeing the 456 in forza 4? ;)

Or deliberately misleading to generate buzz.

I'll be honest: For me the stuff we know about the game isn't enough to justify a full price. FM4 seems like a small step forward with a bit more content and better graphics. I only preordered because I got the chance to buy the CE for 40 bucks.

Otherwise I probably would have skipped the game.

An official Ferrari-sanctioned racing wheel is coming to the Xbox 360 this October to coincide with Forza 4 release

An official Ferrari-sanctioned racing wheel is coming to the Xbox 360 this October to coincide with the release of Forza Motorsport 4.

Modeled on Forza 4 cover car the Ferrari 458 Italia, the 28cm diameter wheel has a rubber-textured grip, eight action buttons, D pad, home button, headset connector port and a "Manettino" dial which lets you modify certain in-race settings.

Under the hood, a "Bungee Cord" centring system offers "progressive" resistance over a 270 degree angle, while the accompanying pedal base boasts a footrest, long-stroke accelerator and resistant brake pad.

Manufacturer Thrustmaster hasn't announced a price yet, but we do have a picture of the thing below.

Peripheral-hungry race fans have a choice to make though. As revealed back in June, Microsoft is also launching its own in-house wheel round about the same time.

The Turn 10-developer Forza Motorsport 4 guns its engines from 14th October.

"Pedestrian as it may seem from the outside, Forza 4 represents a comprehensive shake-up for a series that's reached a turning point," wrote Eurogamer's Martin Robinson in his recent Forza 4 preview.

So the track reveal this week (planets permitting) is RA, yes?
I wonder if we'll ever get a 'reveal' that we don't already know about?

Also, any talk about Maple Valley NOT being in FM4 is tantamount to treason. Don't even ENTERTAIN the thought or I will hunt you down and deal justice.

I know, right? Still haven't been topped and the game is four fucking years old.

Bizarre didn't deserve to go out the way they did :(

This is when you realize that we're still a while away from photorealism!

i don't know.
Plus that image is either a render or a photograph that has been photoshopped to hell and back, doesn't look very real.

Sure, If you look closely you can always tell with CG, but it's still more real than the FF pic :D
And besides, do we really want/need to get further ? the day we get this quality ingame (hopefully next gen will get close) i don't think we can really want more or better, as far as racers go, anyway.
