Four in June - Summer Madness

The challenge is simple, complete four games in June. They can be games you started in May 2014, or November 2010, it doesn't matter, just get them done by July.

I failed pretty badly last month with a mix of overtime at work, a bank holiday weekend away and being sick- not getting anything completed! This month i've got a week holiday, and quite a few half completes from last month, so a bit more hopeful :)

Tools:

Backloggery
How Long to Beat
GAF 2014 Backlog Blitz Thread
52 Games - 1 Year Challenge

Past Threads (2014):

Three in May - Watch Backlogs
Three in April - Mo' Games Mo' Problems
Three in March - Three in March - The Backlog of Truth
Four in February - A Backlog Reborn
Three in January - New Year, new games from the Steam sale

My List:

Bravely Default (3DS) - Thirty nine hours in now, picking away a bit every month.

Guacamelee! (PS3) - Started playing co-op with the GF months ago, but moving house has seen it abandoned and controls forgotten- time to blast through it!

Strider (PS4) - Bought this cheaply last month and got two hours in- enjoyed what ive seen so far, I reckon I can finish this.

Final Fantasy X (HD) - Favourite RPG of all time, and the HD edit looks stunning. Really enjoying playing through it!

You can't mention Summer Madness in your OP and not link to it.
:D

I'm about half way through Far Cry 3 right now (awesome game). Then i've got Wolfenstein: The New Order waiting for me straight afterwards.

Not sure what i'll go for after that though.... but time shouldn't be the issue, its just interest/will.

Update:
1. Far Cry 3 - finished! Awesome game, decent length and one of the best open worlds I've played. Love all the Apocalypse Now homage, though drunk Dennis is the best!

Mario Kart 8
Neptunia Victory
Donkey Kong; Tropical Freeze
Drakengard 3

I have only finished 5 games this year, I need to work on my backlog.

Already beat Transistor yesterday, so I have three more to go. Current targets:

  • Transistor
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • Watch_Dogs
  • Mario Kart 8
I only have a few more missions left in Wolfenstein, and I'll consider Mario Kart 8 "beat" when I've unlocked all the characters and kart pieces.

Mario Kart 8
Wind Waker HD
Donkey Kong

I doubt I'll make it, I will probably do 2/3, but I'll give it a go!;)

Edit: I just realised that it is 4... not going to happen;(

I've got the week off work, but I know it's also E3. I will hour for hour spend more time refreshing GAF than actually play games :/

I have only finished 5 games this year, I need to work on my backlog.
I've done pretty poorly too, but i've played even less new games than what I would have hoped to as well- skipped on Watch Dogs, MK8, Hearthstone, Titalfall etc. The backlog demands completion!

For me my June list is:
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
  • Watch_Dogs (PS4) - playing atm just got to act 2.
  • Mario Kart 8 (I'm considering beating all tracks at 150cc at 3stars as beatings)

don't think I'll get much more done as of to a festival this month.

edit: also decided to start use Backloggery to help me keep track of my backlog and stop buying games when its too big.

Ha yeah, i don't think i'll get much played on the Monday/Tuesday of E3 for sure.

Hoping i can finish Far Cry 3 this week though, and make a start on Wolfenstein over the weekend. Playing Hearthstone for 30 minutes a day too, but that hardly counts as a 'finish'. :)

I've finished five games this month.

Shadow of the Colossus (finished, on the 4th of June)
Infamous 2 (yes, 2, not Second Son. I picked up a save from 2 or 3 years ago, finished on the 8th of June.
Murdered: Soul Suspect (wasn't in my initial list but I finished it, on the 8th)
Atelier Meruru (I started again due to not remembering things from my save file two years ago. Got to a good ending on the 14th, I'll probably reload a late save to do more things)
Atelier Rorona Plus (my fifth game for the month, finished on the 28th)

The JRPG grind continues.

Tales of Symphonia - 40 hours in. I think I'm getting close to the end.
Soul Hackers - Getting back to this right after Symphonia. 9 hours in or so.
Persona 2: Innocent Sin - Still slowly chipping away. About 6 hours in.

Hopefully I'll be able to get through these finally.

For June:
Mirror's Edge
Bully
Mark of the Ninja
Costume Quest

So only two right now.
Working on a few other gems at this moment:

Of Orcs and Men: chapter 2

Gone try for:

Puppeteer (PS3) - Got it with PS+, been meaning to play it for quite a while
Mario Kart 8 (WiiU) - It's doubtful I'll be done playing this game for a very long time though
Brothers: A Tale of a Two Sons (PC) - Heard good things, I'm very curious to see what it's about
Gravity Rush (Vita) - Trying to get it completed before the big GR2 reveal at E3! (;-;)

Skyrim's taking up what little gaming time I have but here's my list this month:

  • Assassin's Creed: Freedom's Cry
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
  • Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
  • Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
  • Final Fantasy X HD
  • Kingdom Hearts (hard)
  • PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate
  • The Witcher 2
  • The Wolf Among Us: Episode 4

I'm counting Skyrim's DLC separately because I feel like I should get some bloody credit for finishing them all.

Just finished TWAU Ep4 a couple of hours ago. Can't wait for Episode 5, I really prefer this game over TWD.

The challenge is simple, complete three games in June.(...)

Three? I think you should change it on four. :)

Here is my June list:

PS3:
Burial at Sea p.2
Pixel Junk Shooter

X360:
Sleeping Dogs
Shadow of the Damned

I'll try to beat four games, but it will be very hard, especially that I want to beat Sleeping Dogs.

I'll join in. I have a HUGE backlog and, even though I try to trim it down as much as I can, it's still growing and growing. Hopefully this will help me to keep myself more focused...

4 games I have already started:

  1. Bravely Default (3DS): 70 hours into Chapter 7. It's about time I finished this game.
  2. Wolfenstein (2009) (PC): I'll probably finish it today. It's not a long game and I wanted to play it before playing The New Order.
  3. Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition: I was 3/4 into the game when I lost my progress. Yesterday I took my time and rolled a min-maxed 88-point half-orc Berserker that will hopefully get me through the game quickly.
  4. Extra: Dark Souls II (PC): I... just... don't like this game as much as I loved Dark Souls. I just can't bring myself to finish this game, but I'll try.

4 games that I need to start from scratch:

  1. Mario Kart 8 (WiiU): I got it on launch day, so I've barely even scratched the surface with a few races, but nothing else.
  2. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies (3DS): Bought it, downloaded it, never played it. I honestly don't know why!
  3. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PC): After beating Wolf 2009, this seems like the most logical next step.
  4. Extra: The Witcher (PC): I've always wanted to play this game and its sequel. Maybe the time is now?

Edit: Eek! Scaled back to three games per category, since "four" was a typo. I left one "extra" game in each category, though. If I have the time, I'll start those after finishing the rest.

Gonna join this month, i will have a lot of time.

Games:

Final Fantasy X HD - (Im at the last boss)
Final Fantasy X-2 HD - (In chapter 4 now)
Muramasa Rebirth - (Finishing the game with the other character as well)
Dragons Crown - (Getting it from Ps+, so starting from the beginning)
Disgaea 3 - (Finishing the story, in chapter 3 now)
+ Pixeljunk shooter Ultimate (Ps+ game, started from the beginning)

All of them on Vita.

Bravely Default: Chapter 8: I said in the last thread that I had one sidequest to go. I was wrong. Ho hum. I *think* I'll finish it this month!
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars: Already 'completed' the game in the sense of having gone through all the missions, but the real meat in a Lego game is in unlocking everything and getting all the Gold Bricks, so I'll be sticking with it for a while yet.
Mario Kart 8: I'm not sure I'll play this game in a fashion that would regard it as 'completed', but it'll definitely be eating up a chunk of my schedule
Picross E4: Chipping away - if you'll pardon the pun - every so often. I skipped straight to the biggest puzzles, so I might speed up on this after a slow start.

And things on the outskirts of my consciousness that might get added in to the list:
Call of Duty 3: Yes, I know it's regard as the runt of the litter somewhat, but it *is* next in my ordered playthrough. Still, after this, I finally get to see what all the fuss was about with Modern Warfare!
Full Bore: In the mood for something a bit platformy. This could be it.
'A CRPG': Currently might well be either Baldur's Gate or Might and Magic 2, but I've also got a bit of a hankering for something Spiderwebby.
Far Cry 2 / Just Cause 2: Some open worldy shootery thing, but which?

Only got 3 on my mind as of right now, but I might add a fourth once I've beaten the others.
Puppeteer: Close to the end on this one, took a long break since last time but it should be easy enough to beat the remaining two hours or so.
Child of Light: Barely scratched the surface of this, but RPG's are good for multitasking so it oughta be doable.
Murdered: Soul Suspect: This comes out soon, and it's supposedly around the 6 - 8 hour mark to beat, so this should fit fine.

Playstation 1
Final Fantasy IX

Playstation 3
South Park: The Stick of Truth

Playstation 4
Infamous: Second Son
Battlefield 4

Planned:

SM 3D World: I am on World
Crown
so I guess I beat the regular game ages ago, but
Champions' Road
is enough that I'm counting world crown as a separate checklist item.

Mario kart: 3-starring grand prix mode. Not sure if I will go for all stamps and car parts though...

Those two are ones I'll certainly do. Other ones I might do....

Dark Souls.
Wonderful 101
ZombiU
SMT 4
Sin and punishment 2
Skyward sword

starting metro last light, which will be my main game this june

will try to finish up:

catherine (last few nights)
valkyria chronicles ( last few chapters)
stealth inc. ( start to finish)

depending how much weed I smoke this month will determine if I beat Flower as I only play that game high.

Rad!

I just finished Danganronpa finally yesterday on the first. So I'll try and do three more!

Gonna attempt for:
* danganronpa
* transistor
* dark souls 2
* South Park

Hopefully will start and finish these new games:
Transistor
Watch dogs

And I really should try and finish these games I started long time ago:
Dark Souls
State of Decay

I'm in. Anything that gives me an incentive to work through my backlog, and not just spend my time playing Football Manager for the millionth time...

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (PC): Picked up the sequel for cheap, so fancy finishing off the first before starting it
Batman: Arkham Origins (PC): Loved the first 2 games, so fancy giving this one a try, warts and all
Transformers: War for Cybertron (PC): Never need a reason for some Transformers related fun!
Shinobi III - Return of the Ninja Master (Mega Drive): One of my favourite MD games, but I don't think I ever finished it. Now's as good a time as any to make sure

Never done this before, but I really need to trim the backlog. Going to try for the following this month :

Transistor - PS4
Infamous - PS4
Wolfenstein - PS4
Strider - PS4

I get the feeling I'm going to fail spectacularly, marathon training starts next week and it's getting hit in Phoenix so 4-5 am wake up is going to be the norm - effectively killing any nighttime gaming.

That said, it's good to have goals.

1. Trine 2 PS4
2. Transistor PS4
3. MGS Ground Zeroes PS4
4. Watch_Dogs PS4

I'm an hour or so into Transistor, but only in the first act of WD, and the first mission or 2 of Thief. I may end up padding my stats and target Rain and Castle of Illusion since they are both pretty short. After finally wrapping up Uncharted last month I could sub in Tomb Raider DE and keep it rolling.

Well, I'm going out of the country for a few weeks this month, so 4 is absolutely out of the question. 2 is definitely attainable, possibly 3. I'm pretty deep into Hitman: Contracts, so I should be able to finish that in the next night or two.

1. Hitman: Contracts (360)
2. Jak II (PS3)
3. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay (360)

I only have 3 games left in my backlog.

1. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle
2. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2: Innocent Sin
3. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD: Haven't touched this even though I ought the Limited Edition in October. It's still in shrink wrap! Saving this for last because I want to make sure I enjoy it with no pressure.

New month yes!

Remember Me Plat Achieved!
Really enjoyed this game. My only complaints were that I wish there were more pressens and combos. Other then that I enjoyed the fighting and story as well as the visuals.

Next up is Beyond and Skyrim. Going to try and plat both.

I have a couple time sink games this month, so four probably isn't going to happen...Lets call this three and a half.

Watch_Dogs
Watch_Dogs Platinum Trophy
Mario Kart 8
Titanfall

  • Harvester
  • Dragon Warrior/Quest
  • Millennium: A New Hope
  • The Longest Journey

Already finished one game, so three more left to go. I'm nearly finished with Millennium: A New Hope, and I'll buy the Longest Journey when that bundle goes up later. DW/Q will probably take a while. Also, this list is highly subject to change.

4?

Currently I am working on:

God of War HD collection (Vita) - 50% (just finished 1 and bout to start 2)
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (vita) - 10% (i wanna say this but i really have no clue)
Demon Gaze (Vita) - 25% (game been put on the backburner because of life priorities)

I will add to this list thanks to redbox

Murdered: Soul Suspect (PS3)

Finished Catherine yesterday. Working on SotC now (despite loving Ico to death I could just never get into this game). Probably Puppeteer next. And then something longer.

Last month was surprisingly good for me this month has a lot of potential despite the lack of releases
Watch Dogs
Child of Light
Transformers: FoC
MGSR:R
DE: HR DC
Dark souls 1 and 2 maybe?

Yeah, fuck it, I'll get stuff done this month. I swear.

Been working on P4G, AssCreed 2, Dust: An Elysian Tale and my PS+ ran out so I guess I'll clear some of the games I actually bought.

Heck, let's do God of War Ascension I think.

OK, four it is:

- Bond of The Skies (IOS)
- Swordigo (IOS)
- Lego Lord of the Ring (IOS) and
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (Vita)

- Kingdom Hearts II
- Metro: Last Light
- Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES
- Ico HD (started this within the last year, need to finish it still!)

These:

Dark Souls II
Drakengard 3
Mind Zero
??

Not sure on the final one yet.. Just beat DS II a couple of hours ago, so thats done

4 in June? I call bullshit!

Oh well, why not celbrate in style. WIIU MONTH!

To celebrate my new WiiU I am playing Wii and WiiU games all month.

Slated to beat:
Wind Waker HD (All treasure charts/hearts/items on normal)
Mario Kart 8 (3 stars on all tracks 150cc and mirror included)
Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario 3D Land

Chipping Away at:
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

To Play:
Pikmin 3
Mario Galaxy 2
Wonderful 101

Four in June? Dang, that's gonna be real optimistic for me. So, I'll be happy if I can beat:

- Mario Kart 8

I'll consider Mario Kart 8 "finished" after I gold the 150cc... everything after that is just gravy.

Transistor - Finish my Recursion mode playthrough
inFamous Second Son - Finish my evil karma playthrough on expert
Bioshock Infinite - started this last year but never finished, going to try to get back into it after a long break
Resistance 3 OR Binary Domain - my fourth game will be one of these, probably whichever is shorter

I beat 29 games in 2014 so far :D
Hmm for June since I already beat MK on release day (doesn't mean I won't play it anymore) and kirby by the end of May it will be:

-Watch_Dogs
-tloz: The Minish Cap
-tba
-tba

I assume the assumption is that a few people will have some extra time to play with having taken days off work for E3 :-)
I'm hoping to.

Ive taken a full week off, but im expecting only really monday/tuesday will be full on GAF refreshing. Rest of the the time im hoping to complete a game or two - and redecorate the bathroom, but that's boring :P

Ys: Memories of Celceta
Conception II
Atelier Totori
And I guess I'll throw Mother 3 in.

Might be doable. I'm about halfway through the first two and pre-last boss fight on Mother 3.
