It seems a bit extreme to ban an entire country. Im glad i got in before this happened, i mean what if Brazil hacks GA will they be banned too? altho i will admit for some reason a small proportion of Australians seem to like to cause trouble especially on irc *shrugs*

Seems i was wrong, all the more reason to stop Australians coming in....I dont want more people mocking me.




Anyway Australian IPs were banned to stop Grubdog from coming back, its not a vendetta against all Australians (unless you ask Sporsk or Drinky).




The rhetorical 'this isn't a democracy' response from the admin was rather pathetic as well. Since no forum I've posted or moderated have been democracies, but at least most had a modicum of accountability and consistent rules.

You say that all aussie IP's were banned for people opening new accounts but this was not the only thing they did.

I had my account deleted outright. I don't make many posts but had been a member for years, obviously they tried deleting low post aussie usernames in the hope that this guy did not have any alts.

You only succeed in making more enemies this way, because if someone REALLY wanted to hack you, I’m sure they could, from where ever there from, and with the protection you have.

Typical paranoid Americans.

Dude, I think you're the one that's paranoid, I'm an Aussie here and can get into the IRC channel just fine. It's to do with the ISP.

were NZ people banned in effect as well? I don't know how the internet works at NZ border, but I could see it being true that we piggyback off aussie and are banned because of this thing as well.

I switched on the tv coming home from sesing Batman Begins and I was so rapt finally Australian domination coming to an end.
For those who don't know the semantics of cricket it's like seeing Ferrari losing to Minardi. Yes that awesome. :)

Russel Crowe isn't that bad. American celebrities make up for Russell just by pure volume.

Action needs to be taken to remedy this injustice.

The IRC ban on *.au has absolutely nothing to do with the Grubdog ordeal, believe it or not. It's in place because another certain pain in the ass is from there and loves using different ISPs.

Also, *.au was never banned from GAF, just that all new registrants from there were treated seperately........... although realities made it so that there actually wasn't any difference because due to mod laziness few people were getting in regardless of where they were from. Hysteria dies down and things continue as they have been... sans certain mods*ahem*.
