1 Robots - $9,900,000
2 The Pacifier - $4,700,000
3 Be Cool - $3,470,000
4 Hostage - $3,110,000
5 Hitch - $2,530,000
Not Placed The Passion Recut - $70,000

Wow...this is kind of insane. I mean, some analysts were predicting that the newly edited Passion would break the Top 5, but there's no way that is going to happen now.

Robots is tracking, however, fairly far behind both Ice Age and Shark Tale, and releasing in March will only give it an Easter boost and it may struggle in general.

Has Robots even had the marketing push of most other CGI animated flicks? I mean there was hardly any real pre-release buzz, even less than for Ice Age, and I didn't start seeing advertisements for the thing until recently.

CG Family movie with a Star Wars Episode III trailer. Was there ever any doubt that it would be the top movie this week?

the previews for robots made it look like such an annoying movie.

If only for Robin Williams. I watched the behind the scenes look and saw a few segments of the movie, Williams's character is like an overactor on speed. It annoyed the hell out of me.

How the hell can that happen when they released it to less than 900 theaters and some theater chains wouldn't even run it because it was released Unrated?

Any analyst who thought it would break the top 5 is a retard.

I really liked Robots.. sure it had it's ups and downs, but for the most part it was an exciting ride. Quite enjoyed the geeky contraptions. Then again, I enjoyed Treasure Planet so I could be in the minority..

Robots was so bad it's crazy. I mean, with the Incredibles coming out in 3 days, I don't know how someone can think this was a great movie. It's all "big names" and no content. The Britney Spears dance? WTF!? The script is trying to turn Robin Williams into the genie once again. ProTip : It won't work.

And Halle Berry had like 20 lines in the whole movie? What a shitty love story too. The only good thing about this movie was the pacing.

Yeah, it's not even close to The Incredibles, but I found the animation and the ideas charming. The characters were certainly not up to par with Pixar.

I enjoyed Treasure Planet, to be fair. It was an amazingly good looking film, and while it was not brilliant it was enjoyable story with memorable, if not funny, characters. It failed because it was nothing but an action adventure film, and wasn't charming or funny in the least.

According to critics, the only really good part of Robots is the Mass Transport system, and I saw that awesome scene online already. Not interested.

These are low box office numbers. Any decent movie with a proven star would crush all the competition. This is some serious post-Oscar crap.

The thing is that it opened in 950 theatres, but on Friday made an average of $73 per theatre...so it averaged about 10 people the entire day. That's insanely low. You would at leeast expect that you'd get a few more people than that.

I too think the Top 5 thing is retarded, but it still did much worse than most would expect.

No, now you're just trying to troll and bash the movie. It was a censored re-release of a movie that most people who would like to see it already own it on DVD. It was never going to rake in the cash.

Not only that, it's not Easter Sunday yet.

Troll and bash the movie? All I mean to say is that I expect more than like 7-10 people to see it in the span of a day. Is that such a stretch?

I didn't expect a lot of business (That'll be for Easter) but I expected more than this.

Why the hell would anyone pay to see The Passion in theatres AGAIN when they can just break out the DVD for Easter?

Exactly why it didn't make much money. It was also a five-minute shorter censored version.
