Combat in skyrim is fine(if you're not playing as a generic ass tank).

Being a pure mage, a spellsword or a stealth specialist are all real fun.

Hahahahahaha. I haven't touched Skyrim yet and I doubt that I ever will in the near future. Only played a few hours of Oblivion too. But seriously, Skyward Sword, great fucking game. Living up to the hype.

That commercial made me want to never touch SS. That combat and movement looked like ass. I also hated Twilight Princess. I never played WW, but i loved Ocarina and Majoras Mask.

Recon, are you serious with that peasant talk? Jst because a game is a console exclusive doesn't prevent it from being great and shouldn't stop anyone from playing it. I can't imagine Skyward Sword being playable on another console.

You not touching console exclusives is straight up ignant.

Rebl knows what's up. and hush siddx, we in ig'nant hour now

I dont fucks with Console exclusives. If you want to be exclusive to peasant gaming machines, you already lost.

this is right up there with some of your dumber elitist hip-hop opinions, bro. i love my gaming PC and am looking forward to finally running through Witcher 2, Deus Ex HR later, the only person limiting themselves here is you.
a number of the absolute classics of this gen sadly got nowhere near a PC, and won't until they can be emulated a gen or two later. i mean, i feel bad clowning on Skyrim based on my feelings of Oblivion and videos ive seen, but you've never even played Demons' Souls, that should be a crime.

I've hated the M+ controls in SS. They just don't work. Hell, that's not even my biggest issue with the game. It ain't no GOTY.

Really? I was obviously just talking shit. I dont own any consoles, sold them all for my Macbook Pro(best decision of my life). I almost bought a PS3 this Black Friday, but i just went with a $50 Blu Ray player instead. I barely have time for games, and i only buy PC games on Steam now. I only got Skyrim because i traded DOTA2 beta for it, and i got Arkham City free with my Video Card.

Again, i thought using the term "peasant" gave away my joking tone.

Arkham City has been great so far, but not GOTY material. I'd play Skyrim but I know it'd suck up every ounce of my life which I can't deal with right now.

I'mma have to go with Uncharted 3 so far, nothing else has blown me away this year with its awesomeness, but shoutout to whoever mentioned Yakuza 4, they really know what's up.

Finished Wind Waker just before starting Skyward Sword and it was an okay game. Borderline great. Maybe.

SS's combat is one of the greatest features. The precision with the Motion Plus is amazing and makes nearly every battle enjoyable. For example, the Beamos is defeated by having to slice the body and then stab the eye. You actually have to do the correct motions.

:(, I named my character Aragorn and he's an all-round muthafucka with a few destruction and conjure spells and a lot of weaponry (archery, two handed, one-handed all 80+ now). Playing as a full-on mage in these games bores me.

I've put more hours into this than Witcher 2 but TW2 and Deus Ex are still my favorite games of the year.

You are playing it wrong then. Combat is very satisfying. Sword and Board fucks shit up.

lol, I guess that's the main reason why I think that. I played Skyrim mostly over my friends house because I wanted to get a taste of it since I didn't enjoy Oblivion because of combat and other reasons so I just hopped on his generic tank.

Whenever he's done with it or whatever I'll borrow it and see how stealth characters are like(these are what I primarily like to play as). I can't fuck with being a pure mage though.

Even after recalibration, I've had issues with the M+ misreading my motions. It's made the game a chore, unfortunately. And it's not the controller since it does work fine in Wii Sports resort.

I played alot of games this year....and the only games that Pretty much Took me away from RL (meaning everyday after work and on my days off, I would just play these games till I beat them) was Portal 2, Deus EX HR and Batman Arkham City....I was on those games like Crack...

Just about every single other game that I got this year (alot).....I have played off and on and had short attention spans with and never even finished.

With that said, the 2 "AAA" titles that I haven't played are Skyrim and Skyward Sword. I dont own a Wii but il probably try that dolphin thing one day when I get time.

And I never liked elder scrolls.....seems to much like a Offline MMORPG...without the MM.

so yea....Deus ex and DAT BATMAN SON.

Huh. I've been loving the combat. Flying gets a little irritating but it happens so rarely that I forgive it. Other that I that, i've had no problems with M+'s use in SS.

Recon, I apologize but I thought you were completely serious there.

wat, i think the games upper level destruction, illusion, and conjuration are all quite fun.

I really thought DXHR was overrated. It plays like an FPS mgs2 with some open world shit thrown in there. Not fun imo.

yeah, my bad recon. so used to gaming side it's hard to tell.

fixed2 has me thinking i need to bump batman up in my queue, part 1 was like the best comic book game in forever. and im with rebel (again); im fine with SS combat, flying isnt ideal but guiding a bug-weapon-thing is fine; riding through the sky just reminds me why i dont fuck with flight sims not called After Burner.

Listening to Undun and MOTM1 makes me realise just how much I love it when an album is cohesive. Is this something that's decided by the executive producer, or the artist or what?

It's probably why Illmatic is such a classic.

EDIT: How the fuck did I write animal instead of album?

Depends on who created those animals lol.

Nah but seriously, I'm sure a lot of times it varies from the artist or executive producer.

I kind of prefer albums with themes overall too

I should clarify that the only flying issues i've had are with the bug and I actually really like the Loftwing flying. 100x better than WW's sailing and a little better than the Epona riding in MM/OoT.

I would be talking about the other games mentioned here but my 2nd 360 RRODed on me and I've been to salty to touch another 360 so it'll be a while. And i've been so apathetic about the PS3 that I don't know when I'll ever get one.

Greetings, GAF-Hop

Recommend a good study album? I've been through Only Built For Cuban Linx II, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, Metaphorical Music, Sir Lucious Left Foot, Highlighter, (non hip hop:) Bon Iver, Crystal Castles, Dandelion Gum, and Station to Station already.

God, it's been a long night. Final on History of Christian Thought in six hours.

Anyway, recommendations?

Take Care is probably a pretty good study album too

I really loved The Mix Up from the Beastie Boys to study to. All instrumental, great background music.

Haven't played Skyrim (and won't unless I get it gifted before the GOTY comes out) but Skyward Sword, Portal 2 and Deus Ex share the top spot for me this year when it comes to big releases. Still gotta delve into Arkham City though.

Undun seems like it'll grow on me, I just gotta give it some time. I listened to Game Theory and How I got over in preparation so I expected something else.

Spiritual State is fantastic though, I didn't even know it was coming out.

I'm listening to Nujabes right now. Yep, AOTY.

goddamn yes. haven't even gotten to that track ya'll are on about yet, but to pinko & those earlier on about subpar MC's - both my favorites are on City Lights, can you really say these dudes are fucking shit up? their vibe flows with the track, can't see not digging em.

They're better on Spiritual State. I don't usually dig them, but I have no issues this time around.

I'm almost hesitant on listening to Spiritual State. Don't want to realize that Nujabes is actually dead and won't hear anything from him ever again. I didn't finish Samurai Champloo for the same exact reason, not wanting it to end.

Damn. :(

Listen to the song above and try to stop yourself from listening to the rest.
