Nice. Ill send you the shit tomorrow afternoon. No rush, my friend is taking forever with her damn feature...shit is getting frustrating. Here is one of her songs: Holly Bernt-The Real Thing

She has a nice voice, so ill push it back til she gets done, but it is getting frustrating lol.

She has a real nice voice, definitely worth waiting for.
But yeah, as soon as I get the beat and topic/subject matter, I can begin to write something for it.

Is there a reason im just getting hip to Sound Providers now? Holy shit, i need to hit up the Jazz Rap thread. This girl has some crazy good taste in music.

I wish I could think up 5 producers. I'm really bad at this...but my favorites

No ID - the stuff I've heard from Common's new CD and the Cocaine 80s stuff is incredible
Kanye - doing his thing as always. WTT
Statik - really liked the production on his CD and I've been hearing good stuff from Bronson's new album

lol Kanye. Hasn't made shit worth listening to in years.

Kno
NO I.D
Krit
...those are the only ones that really stand out to me. Alc maybe, but I only really heard his album with Currensy which was shitted up by currensy's boring ass.

I guess Swizz, I think he's largely a one trick pony that has somehow kept that pony riding like a fucking stallion all these years, but I can't deny he can make a hot club track. And he surprised me with murder on WTT. Too bad that track got shitted up by the the excellence part.

9th wonder had a little bit of a comeback this year, still not what he used to be though.

You know what i'd almost throw G-Eazy on there, I'm dying to see some more talented rappers on his beats. Had some of my favorite production by far this year.

Speaking of producers , N.O Joe needs more recognition. He's largely responsible for the production on some of the greatest southern hip hop albums of all time like The Diary, Untouchable, Ridin Dirty, and so on. Mike Dean too.

If we're just going by this year alone:
Big K.R.I.T.
No I.D.
40
Clams Casino
Kanye

Honorable Mention:
Nujabes (R.I.P.) - I can't help but think his posthumous album that's about to drop will have some more amazing quality stuff.
Just Blaze - "Lord Knows", nuff said.
Lex Luger - What's this? He can make more than one beat!?!
J.Cole - "HiiiPower" for K.Dot & "Smallville" for XV showed me he has great potential.

I honestly stopped buying Luda's albums after i got burned on Chicken and Beer. That shit had no energy in it. Ill give him credit for fucking killing TI on Stomp. That was one of the better diss tracks, especially considering it was originally suppose to have TI on it doing his diss towards Luda. That version is best.

Howcome so many people don't mention Kno? Oneirology is the best produced album of the year, and Machete Vision was pretty good too (production wise...)

Different people like different production styles? While I thought the production on Oneirology was good, it just wasn't memorable to me.

Being solid is ok... But Kno hasn't shown me his highs like some other producers.. It's like Mannie Fresh, he isn't super consistent but damn are his highs crazy high...

Obviously, people have different opinions, but I was under the impression that Kno was more consensual than this. Everybody is putting No I.D. on the top 5 (deservedly), and I thought Kno was a given on that list too.

I'm feeling Radioactive a little more today. It was pretty nice on the drive to work this morning. Tuesday when I cop the CD and FLAC it, I'm gonna cut those hooks out in Audacity. Boom fixed.

Producers this year....I think I'm gonna go with

Clams Casino
Drumma Boy
Lex Luger
Kanye (and his stable of ghost producers)
Tyler, the Creator

It's hard to pick just 5.

Really don't think he is a good sound at all.. really dislike like everything he touches for some reason...

I like the lack of ghost producers, industry god tier engineers, influences etc. that he comes with. His beats are simple, but they're pure. Plus, Yonkers. Probably BOTY.

Andre Nickatina is just as pure but I wouldn't claim a top 20 producer

But I would rank him above Tyler. :(

but really dude is trash to me. I can't hate too hard.. But just got to let it be known

Lets see
Clams Casino
Whoever the hell produced the majority of Weeknd tracks
Squadda B
Big KRIT
Sounwave

Honerable mention:
ASAP Ty: I've only heard a handful of beats by him but they are some of the best I've heard all year. He has a bright future.
Kno
Tyler The Creator

Does ArtOfficial count? Their beats are crazy, surprised nobody mentioned them as best producer. The album is definitely in my top 10.

good shit. one of my favs, love the last track and the inclusion of otis

New: Quest - "The Blur'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=C_xFYvvSPlE

I dig this one a whole lot more than his last few tracks. He still talking about the same few things he's always rapped about, but in this one he comes a bit more transparent than before. I'm digging the trip-hop~ish production too, a lot.

---

To add to the producer of the years lists, mine would probably go something like

KRIT
No I.D
Kanye
The Alchemist
Ski Beatz

Both of those last two getting in there for their stuff with Currency, for the most part; Ski did drop another Karate school, which was pretty good. I've yet to really listen to Clams.

Yea, I can't believe I just heard about it coming out yesterday. Bronson records deserve more hyping it.
Undeniably top 5 shit for me. Statik went in w/ the production, and the raps are amazing as usual
