Just realized/remembered Cole has released three albums and a mixtape since he signed to Roc Nation. Both him and Jay Elec signed to Hov around the same time.

yeah, esh was on this - it's been going on forever now. kanye & others did "freestyles" at def poetry jam that showed up a short while later on their LP's...this is right up there with ghostwriting for me as stuff anyone following the genre is gonna shrug right off as a known thing

damn, dude put out one of my favorite albums this year (and a helluva show out here too) but Q3 isn't being kind to him.

still think its weird that you can be sued for samples on something you didnt make money off of

2006-2008 were dark times for hip hop. Who could predict that those who shone brightest in the darkness (Blu, Jay Elec, Lupe, etc) would let us down the most. Thirty years from now when I'm comforting my daughter after she breaks up with an abusive boyfriend I'll be able to tell her I know exactly how she feels.

Does make you wonder what would have happened to JayE's career had he not gotten stuck in that Rothschild box.

I'd say fuck rapping too if I could live that lavish lifestyle on the Illuminati's dime.

I saved this when it came out but only just watched it...

Nas presents the Real Hip-Hop

Rapper Nasir 'Nas' Jones takes us on a world tour of breakdancing in the most unexpected places.
We visit the slums, shanty towns and ghettos of the world, where hip-hop really means something. With jaw-dropping breakdancing moves, b-boys and b-girls in Uganda, Yemen, Cambodia and Colombia give us an inspiring tribute to the uplifting power of music and movement.

Little 6 minute documentary, cool stuff.

Biggie would probably still be alive if he didn't kick those verses in Cali, real talk. Shit is a blatant Tupac diss, there's no way around it.
Didn't puff push him to go to Cali? I agree though. Once pac died, it was all eyes on puff and big. Spitting long kiss goodnight wasn't the smartest thing to do but then again you gotta look at it from big's pov. How angry he must've been after hearing hit em up, especially when he didn't do pac any wrong.

It is pretty crazy to go from homeless to literally the highest socioeconomic level. Given, he isn't exactly cemented into it in the least. I'd imagine it'd give him a lot to rap about, but then since it isn't his own money he's living on, he runs the risk of losing a lot if he says the wrong things.

TDE's management is a fucking joke. WOW. Why you gotta highlight your L like that, and make your artist look weak.

Release the fucking album on Friday and be done with it. Holding 11 tracks (only 8 of which are new) over the fans' heads like this is laughable.

I wonder if all the dudes in Black Hippy are secretly looking for ways out of their TDE contracts. They should be. Shit is ridiculous.

TDE has to be the most garbage label. The albums arent getting better, pretty much just one of them stepped up to the plate musically, and they wasted the period where people might have thought of them as a phenomenon.
