we can't all be HiResDes type hipster ass niggas, gotta switch up the flow sometimes

Yeah shit was played out for me by the time Kissland came out dude needed to switch it up. I'm feeling this a lot more than that I'd give a 8 on first listen the only project I really fuck with from him is House of Balloons anyway.

keep: real life, the hills, can't feel my face, shameless, as you are, prisoner

the rest are eh, recycle bin worthy. fuck i love as you are though. the chorus is something i'd expect from genesis-era phil collins. he has to have been influenced by genesis and/or collins for sure.

Happy born day Disco.

Bout to get into this Weekend album. As someone who really enjoyed Kissland I don't even know where I'll land on this one.

BBTM got stans in the deepest parts of their feelings and as I'm listening to it I'm not quite sure why. But then the negative response to Kissland tripped me out too. So IDK what folks want from the dude. He's not gonna keep remaking Trilogy but he still throwing yall a bone w/ some of the shit on this album.

Album's pretty great so far.

Does he like Street's Disciple, though?

Can't be all winners

This Weeknd album is definitely pop and while there are songs and segments I enjoy, I gotta give it more bumps to fully form my opinion on it. I understand where he wants to go with this but I feel like he doesn't quite reach his target

Woah. Stop. You're not gonna make me listen to a Carly Rae album in 2015, brehs.
Is it really good? Heard it being mentioned a few times around here today. Not that Pop albums can't be aight with the right producer behind it.

pop music is all good. i'm not falling for this carly rae shit though, peterboy laying a trap down here.

i might play it at the gym and see though...

Hmmm, so this Weeknd album......

I like Kiss Land. A lot. More than most Weeknd fans I'd wager. It's a dope album with 2 great stretches of music separated by a boring Drake track in the middle. This new one though... I'm not sure yet. Right off the bat it doesn't grab me with a super well sequenced opening flurry, especially with Kanye coming through with that sleep inducing production on Tell Your Friends which takes like 3 minutes to get interesting. It's a hot and cold listen for me. I like Real Life and Losers, Tell Your Friends is wack, I like Often and The Hills, Acquainted is a little boring, Can't Feel My Face is great, etc., etc. It doesn't have that no skip stretch I found in Kiss Land nor does it feel as well put together as an album. Production doesn't do as much for me either losing the "mainstream Weeknd but with an edge" sound of tracks like Kiss Land or the atmosphere of The Town. I reserve the right to flip flop this opinion though because I'm nothing but a miserable little pile of secrets.

Keepers right now:

Real Life
Losers (I like the New Orleans bounce *shrug*)
Often
The Hills
Can't Feel My Face (that MJ music)
In The Night (that Don Johnson music)
As You Are (that Philip Michael Thomas music, A++++ chorus lawd)
Prisoner

Might come around to the other half, might not.

i'll wait till he actually drops the proof
i mean why keep quiet for so long?
Yeah the Sony stuff is seemingly inconsistent as he was threatened to be sued despite having proof before, but didn't do shit until now?

Like, this is one serious fucking vendetta.

Nice. Will jump on that after I finish the last two S1 episodes of The Knick this weekend (great show).

It's a new era man when USA is making quality drama lol
USA has been a decent network for a while. They've had a show to watch for at least 10 years now. It's never been Emmy quality, but you'd still have a decent time.
that show feels so weird on USA considering the lineup of suits, white collar and covert affairs lol
Two of those shows have been done and one should end soon. But yeah, with Mr. Robot being so successful, this'll be a sign of more quality drama to come.
Stan for pop in a Hip-hop/ R&B thread brehs.

It's pop, from an R&B artist.

enjoy your pop.
You say it like pop is a bad thing. Expand your mind.

He spent all the money on the tour? Just buying shit or what?
tour is fuckin expensive.

you gotta upfront for merch, you gotta pay/shelter/feed your homies and crew, and if you're as big as krit you prob opt for the tour bus instead of a van which only adds to expenses.

after tour you gotta split up the money. krit prob had to pay def jam, he has to pay his tour manager, his manager, his booker, his crew, and whatever else. tell me what you think is left after all that?

he prob got a bad deal at def jam too. tho if he has to upfront merch (or its at least part of his advance) then that's could be some good money to make.

edit - that is not to say tour cant be profitable. if you have your shit down to a science and streamlined, or you travel light or nearly solo you can make hella fuckin guap.
