So I'm listening to this

He's come a long way from his first mixtape. His flow, word play, and style have all improved, but despite that I don't think comedy rap will ever find any mainstream success.

I know some Kid Cudi discussion was a couple pages back but has anyone else been watching him on the Comedy Bang Bang TV show? I was skeptical when I heard he was replacing Reggie Watts but he's actually a perfect fit, super charming and funny. I didn't see the Need for Speed movie he was in but I honestly think he should lay off the music and stick to acting for now.

Em really did make Dre do it

Talking To My Diary is ghost written

yooooo

So Dre finally accepted he was never gonna live up to the hype and outright canned Detox huh?

if there was ever any doubt about this, him getting a billie should've silenced that a while back

This album probably consists of Detox tracks, let's be real.

also a possibility
even if it feels likely there's generations of detox in his vault

i like to think detox blue and platinum were the best

We need to fast forward to August 7.

I wonder how difficult it will be for the masses to hear those countless songs/beats Dre's been stashing in his vault.

I just hope we will hear them one day.

not a lotta people here checking for big/pac/etc posthumous b-sides for a reason

convinced they making some of these names up. Like King Mez probably a ghost name for Tupac, recording verses on the low before he go back to chilling in the Caribbean.

Wow, interesting. Not too much Em. Would have liked to see Kurupt at least once though.

Also, not gonna lie, I have zero clue who some of these people are.

I'm really looking forward to "old school hip hop fans" proclaiming it as the Hip-Hop AOTY ("all modern rap is trash but this really resonated with me") and the inevitable "Eminem's verse on Medicine Man" GAF thread.

Aw yeaaa only one Eminem track.

Surprised there's only two Kendrick features though

the inevitable "Eminem's verse on Medicine Man" GAF thread.

that majestad experience™

The Detox VI Compton tracklist looks good. A lot of mofos I ain't never heard of but that's cool. Dre's interns gotta eat too.

Track titles look tight

3 Kendrick features is good

1 Jon Connor feature is...better than no Jon Connor feature.

1 Eminem feature is...better than more than 1 Eminem feature.

Xzibit, Cube, and Game got on there so that's a plus.

Apple has exclusive rights for now to the digital version of the Chronic and this new record. Dre earning his cut

This. Most of the time an artist recorded something and didn't come out with it, it was for a good reason. Namely, it was wack (or at least not up to standards). Not to hold it back so the Afeni Shakurs and Sean Combs of the world can get their death profiteering on once they pass.

I don't need Dre digging around the vault to find a dusty ass Nate hook and bringing down the man's legacy like that
