Man I NEED that Travis Scott remix' extra synths and piano bits edited into the regular without the Travis Scott verses.

Sweet as hell. Was gonna cop with a Steam card I had, but my GF begged for Walking Dead during the Steam sale last thanksgiving after playing a couple episodes that fell off a truck.

What's GAF HOP's GOTY?

Right now my top one is easily Far Cry 3. I'm a sucker for shooters, I love stealth and Crysis 1 is one of my favorite games. So naturally FC3 wins so much in my book. Probably my favorite game in the past few years.

As for the rest, I'm probably forgetting a few, but Max Payne 3, Binary Domain (2012?), XCOM, Dishonored all go and I gotta give a special shout out to B game of the year (and I LOVE B games) Sniper Elite v2. Fucking love that game way more than I should. Big ups to Sleeping Dogs and Deadlight too.

Borderlands 2 or Chivalry Medieval Warfare.

I have yet to try that Far Cry 3 and Dishonored, but easily nothing else has come close as far as goodness. If you were to pressure me, i'd say Chivalry.

Probably Borderlands 2, even though I'll end up playing more Halo. ME3 close runner up.

I spent my year playing games from last year and further back (UMvC3, Dark Souls, catching up on AC, etc.), and havent finished a bunch of games from this year yet (ACIII, Paper Mario: Sticker Star).

Nothing from this year really comes to mind as a GOTY material. None of those incredible feels like from years past.

A lot of good games this year, they just all had their own little quibbles or problems or controversies which upset people.

I don't see next year getting better but at least it's looking like we're gonna move on from this old ass, tired generation once MS shows and maybe starts selling they're new shit next year. Maybe Sony too, but they're looking further off.

I agree to an extent. Far Cry 3 really gave me that "gaming wonder" sense that we all get once in a great while. It had been a while since I had it.

Borderlands 2 would have made my top 3 easily if I had to choose the month the game came out. It was a quick burn and it wore off pretty fast. I didn't really have any co-op buddies, but it just felt like more Borderlands 1, which I loved, but probably dumped around 200 hours into. Also probably didn't help that I played some BL1 DLC right before it came out. Once I got Dishonored and XCOM I didn't play BL2 again.

My GOTY is probably Sleeping Dogs just based off how much fun I had with it (mostly out of surprise that it was so good). Nearly everything else has been a disappointment (Max Payne 3 being a HUGE one), or some homogenized generic stuff that won't be remembered in 6 months. Meh. This gen fell off hard in the last 2 years.

The presentation was a bunch of smoke and mirrors that took control away frequently for no reason with unskippable interruptions. Have you tried replaying the game? It's unbearable. My opinion on MP3 plummeted after the first playthrough. It's like the game doesn't actually want me playing it.

Okay, yeah, the OST was amazing and I voted it as best of the year on Gaming side.

I dug Max Payne 3.

Sure, for replays I wish you could skip the cutscenes, but the gameplay was fucking awesome. I'm a big MP1 and 2 head too. I liked the changes. A simple cutscene skip key would make it a lot better though.

max payne 3 is like the only game i played this year (& 2k13), I didnt even beat the last 2 chapters. amazing game though

wish more games had setting changes nearly every chapter. my main complaint with most games now is that they are so lazy and repetitively put together

Maybe I value different things, but when the best feeling third person shooter this gen is slapping the controller out of my hand every 3 minutes, it's a bit hard for me to stay positive on it. I don't want to watch a movie, I want to shoot people while Max monologues.

i'm struggling to get through max payne 3. i just have to do it cuz somebody lent it to me and he wants it back. game is boring as hell. max payne 1 was 3000% better.

I think Just What I Am by Cudi is the best solo single to come from GOOD this year which is surprising because Cudi is mostly shitty.

Oh yeah, forgot about this. Probably got the top spot of the three for me. Such a great experience, I think I played through it something like 6 times in a row after beating it the first time.
